Vocally, like everyone, I think the Cleveland show was great.

 

- Yes, “If You Asked Me To” is lowered (by 2 semitones) but we must remember that even in 1997 the original key was too high for her to consistently sing live and I think singing it slightly lower is always a better option

 

- “The Prayer” has great vocal moments such as the sustained C5 and the long Bb4 is the climax. Both with Céline’s 90s vibrato!!

 

- “You’re the Voice” also sounded great. I really think she loves the song so much that it becomes incredibly easy to sing for her

 

- “Tous les blues sont écrits pour toi”. Very impressive, always on-pitch vocals and she even added vibrato on the C#5 this time

 

- “Lying Down” best performance so far

 

I think the only songs that weren’t perfect last night were “If You Asked Me To”, “The Reason” and “River Deep, Mountain High”.

Sigh. I have better things to do with my Saturday than to debate this with you. I know you won't drop this. I can see this tour replacing Vegas as something you are going to constantly complain about...

 

Life is too short, if you don't like the tour, find something you do like and enjoy it.

And... wish I was the only one "complaining", then I would accept I'm totally wrong in what I say. But it seems there are countless fans that react exactly the same way as me, asking the same changes and critics I presented, and quite a few precisely compared this tour with Vegas saying is "Vegas on wheels" with minimal tweaks, so no, I'm not the only one here, like the song says

lol, whatever! I just love she probably says it in her own comical way, but that comparison is exactly what many people and the perception they had of her Vegas contract and all the years she was unable to tour anywhere, like "is she going to stay there forever???". I'm sure so many people have told her the same joke, to the point she's using it now to explain she's finally free and not tied to stay in one only place forever

 

Sadly, the songs she's singing are not much different to what she was singing in her last Vegas shows, but I have hope this will improve for Europe...

Céline sings her hit songs and well-known covers: Audience goes crazy.

 

Céline sings new or less-known songs: Audience leaves for a beer/bathroom break.

 

And you seriously wonder why the setlist is what it is? She listens to her audience. Which is exactly why she's the touring force that she is. And as long as she wants to draw in audiences, the formula will remain the same. Hate it as much as you want.

I mean, we finally have the "All the way... a decade of songs World Tour"! So great!

Just missing I'm your angel (for obvious reasons).

And she even finish the show with an accoustic song (like she did in 2018 and 2017). So new, so original, so daring!

Yeah, LCMM is back! Awesome, we only heard it 168759 times. So glad we can hear it 200 times more with this tour.

 

Some people love eating mashed potatoes every morning, every lunch and every dinner.

Who are we to ask for some peas now and then?

 

I'm sure the setlist will change after the release of the album: we'll get Where does my heart beat now instead of Lying Down.

Anyway, I made my decision now: I won't attend an english show. Thank you, bye.

 

On the positive side, it seems like she recovered well and her voice is great. That's the most important thing.

The amount of lypsinc is reduced to a minimum -and since I don't care about her american hits now... I feel in sync with her on that.

Lying down is great live - but the backing vocals are cheap and aweful.

Keeping TLBSEPT and LM in french is great news.

 

I love the medley - and the covers. Pink glasses people here who always love everything considering Celine is working hard and should do what she wants... even them are complaining about the amount of covers, although it is obvious since forever that Celine LOVES doing covers. So logically, they should say "Celine doen't deserve you anything, she does what she wants and likes, just be happy with what she's offering 'cause she doesn't have to do anything for you". Oddly enough, they dont.

I'm sure they would remain seated if she performed Right In Front Of You or Je t'aime encore (English Version) or Misled or precious unknown ballads like I Know What Love Is the same way they remain seated watching her perform Courage, a new song nobody knows yet.

Exactly. She's been doing this for decades. She knows her audience and how to please them.

And so, this show will remain largely what it is. And big picture, that's a good thing.

 

Would I personally love to see a completely different set list? Absolutely. But it's nothing like the things many on here are asking for.

And she can't please all of us, so she opts for pleasing the majority. And it works extremely well. So yes, she'll keep doing it. Javito's 20 complaints per hour aren't going to change a thing, nor should they.

Me by mistake started to imagine, what if she could add to the setlist some songs from each era

or to get it in a medleys, to hear a little bit more from AND+OH could be really wonderful.

 

I wish we could know what they were really talking about in all those meetings in 3Am in the morning.

I still hope they will improve it all after the album it out.

 

The producers here try to sell her show as one of her LV shows, to give it a "fancy" flavor

and I'm like just no... please no! New Album = New Tour = New Album. Amen.

Nope, watching last nights live stream a huge bunch of people left at Lying Down and Courage for the bar and the toilet... even leaving during The Reason... yet they all stayed and danced to the cover medley 🙃

I went to the first Québec show and sadly, many people were getting their beers during Courage. I read earlier in this thread that the same happened yesterday...
