Courage World Tour - EU shows CANCELED

This tour is giving me plenty of spectacular moments.

They said it = it came true.

Also, they know how to generate buzz and sell tickets. ;)

For me, it’s always ultimately about the vocal and emotional state Celine’s in. If she’s feeling good, her audience will have the time of their lives. The rest is icing. There’s no other performer like her on the planet.

I’m a very happy camper and I’m counting down the days until I see my two shows in LA! :D And like I said before — I bet there will be more surprises coming our way!

In 2017 she really impressed me - she just bombed through hits from multiple albums in a row, covering old ground. Today, we have the same 15 songs she has been regularly singing in Vegas in various different positions. Nothing from LMBTL, nothing from TC. No Ashes, her biggest hit in years. Guaranteed IYAMT will be replaced by TT in Europe. And there we have the same old set list.

I am seeing her 4 times and I will be freaking out and screaming and singing along with her but this set list is just frigging lazy. So lazy. It could be so much better.

I say it almost every post. You’re The twatting Voice. It sticks out like a haemorrhoid. I hate hate hate it. So many beautiful songs she could sing. Why why why doesn’t she believe in her own songs? Why is she doing Imagine in the encore? Why not one of her own songs to give us a beautiful message at the end. Irrationally upsets me.

And I’m simply assuming she is is giving FOMO a break until she feels confident for it again but they should just resurrect the playback- the Courage World Tour and there are TWO songs from it?! That’s a joke.

This :o

Sorry but It just so twised up to write that people looking for what to complain

when actually Scott promised heaven and earth about the setlist.

So "complaining" about the setlist makes one to be less "fan"

and why not to be just all happy that she sounds so good.

No logic with that, it's the obvious here that all want

her to be fine and were hell worried with her vocal issues

but how this justify all the rest.

Hope she will keep changing at least between her old gems, I loved IYAMT.

She was so strong on ABM, I wish they will take away the lipped notes

that the only minus for me. Just change a bit this part

or to skip it, she doesn't have to prove anything...

And if she kept the pre-recorded track for BYLM

while nailing TR which is harder song to sing ahmm...

I guess she kept TLB, the medley and BATB to "fill in" the show until new album is out

and it will be replaced with some new songs from the album.

Wondering if she will get FOMO back at some point.

I prefer PQTME instead of Imagine as the ending.. The arrangements for PQTME is so gorgeous.

PQTME

I kind of hope for PQTMAE, SSDA or EUS in Poland :in_love:

PS. I got a ticket for Krakow, so I'm attending both concerts in Poland. The first one's in Lodz and the second one's in Krakow. I don't know what my psychological state will be after that. It's a good thing they have excellent psychiatric facilities in Krakow.

Having attended....

Her voice was absolutely the BEST I have ever heard it live in all the shows I’ve been too to date, since 2004 was my first time and multiple since then.

She looks STRONG not skinny or fragile like the media likes to report, and that short hair should stay a long while she looks so much better with it, especially in person up close.

The setlist.......

Overall the concert was brilliant so I actually did overlook it, however... I think if they dared to just make a few small changes it would’ve been a game changer....They should’ve instead of the “The Prayer” done ANDHC, instead of “LCMM” done “Imperfections”; and "Ashes” should’ve been in there... the whole ending medley, I’m not a huge fan of but looking around at the crowd people were going bananas and totally ate it up, that’s why she keeps doing this s*** lol... I would’ve had rather had a uptempo Celine medley of IDAN and a few other upbeats.

LCMM has no business Being back they should’ve just replaced LM with it if they needed it so badly in the setlist and kept That spot open for ANDHC.

“If You Asked Me To” was amazing!!! She sounded great, was smiling big, people around were singing it they all knew it still clearly and I was not expecting her to go into the second verse and she did, I thought for sure she’d shorten the song like she always does but I’m so glad we get in full.

“I’m alive” and “that’s the way it is” work so perfectly, and I love the new way the backup singers start TTWII, nice spin there.

Surprise of the night for me was, “You’re the Voice”; I thought the song had no business being in her show, but after seeing it live I change my mind, I didn’t expect it, but it really works live... and the visuals were stunning for it. So yeah I have to eat my words now.

“The Reason” is a song I like but never loved but she killed the vocals so I can’t be mad, but I think it’s time to give other songs their moment instead.

So In my opinion after being there in the flesh, yes the setlist should be better but honestly it wouldn’t take much, seriously if they just did four or have “If you asked me to” moments we’d be there.

Overall tho, the night was amazing! The entire floor, NEVER sat down...surprised me, the entire show on our feet even during the slowest songs. And her voice again, was out of this world, I honestly underestimated her, she still slays when she wants to. I mean crystal clear and super STRONG and sustaining vocals... wow

I was debating not going after the tour started and I’m glad I did now ( even tho of course the setlist could have been more gutsy)

It's really better to see and hear it LIVE than watching on video.. The sound is really different compared to the fancams. I don't know why but in person the sound is better her vocals are stronger, thicker, consistent, can really give goosebumps. I remember watching her last year. When she sang the live part of IACBTMN, everybody was like WOAH! It gave me goosebumps.

You really need to see her live so you'll know :)

I could swallow this set list if she swapped out the dance medley with some of her own up-tempo gems. I’m not feeling that medley, at all.

The tour is bound to evolve over time and through various countries, I’m just so relieved to hear her sounding so strong...and looking so alive and fresh.

Courage world tour with only 2 songs from Courage album??? OK lets wait and hope there will be more songs from new album after its releasing. The setlist is really bad as its called "Courage world tour" no "Biggest hits and covers world tour" so if setlist stay the same with so little new songs from Courage then it will be BIG BIG JOKE!!!

I am completely obsessed with 'Let's Dance'. I never cared for Bowie's version at all (as much as I appreciate the rest of his catalog), but damn...She really makes it her own.

Now AOBTD on the other hand I don't get at all. And I usually love when she does Queen (Love of my Life ). It's too monotone, doesn't suit her voice.

Would love for her to sing 'Don't Stop me now' at one point. She could really work that one.

So yeah, I'm also one of those people who love her covers. Though I definitely wish she would switch them up a bit more.

I'm sure when the album is released they'll change the setlist. They don't want to add songs that is not released yet from the new album. But Imperfections should be added.

The voice is coming back to its best, Celine looks gorgeous, healthy and genuinely happy, the stage is beautiful, the lights and wardrobe fantastic.

That said, I hope that after the release of the Courage album more new songs will be introduced to the concert setlist. Less covers and more Celine, please!

I adore her! ;)

There is a high possibilty that more songs from album will be included in tour

Melanie album had 7 out of 10 songs on its tour

Incognito album had 6 out of 10

Unison had 8 out of 10 songs performed

Celine Dion had 7 out of 13 discounting the Introduction

TCOML had 8 out of 15 songs performed. Not counting TLYM

D'Eux had 10 out of 12

FIY had 19 songs including bonuses such as TLYM and Le Ballet. 15 out of 19 if counting PQTME and JSP.

LTAL had 17 songs including TLYM. 8 out of 17 were performed

SSDA had 6 out of 12

ANDHC had 6 songs performed in residency out of 18. ANDHC versions counted as one

OH had 3 out of 14 songs performed in residency. LIAWN was rehearsed. Also 1F4T had 1 out of 13 but that is kind obvious because residency show was english focused.

Miracle had 3 out of 14 in residency

D'Elles was only represented by 1 out of 13 songs in tour, but Immensite was rehearsed

Taking Chances was represented by 10 out of 18 new songs

Sans attendre had 7 out of 16. Including USF concert and NMQP on residency

LMBTL had 8 out 16 on residency and 2013 tour. But out of new songs, 3 out of 11 were on tours.

EUS was represented by 4 in 2016 and another 3 in 2017 tour. 7 out of 15

And finally Courage has 3 out 20 performed

It looks like that in late 90s ownards there seems to be less songs from albums. But 2002-2004 albums and LMBTL didnt have a specific tour promoting them. But ANDHC had TD, TGR/L'envie d'aimer, WTWLYR performed live, with RIFOY, AEA, GTSW overdubbed/playbacked. Also Sans attendre had SJNRDT, Attendre, QTUM, and one or 2 others playbacked.DKL live, Breakaway playbacked from LMBTL .This album could have ANDHC promotion with songs performed live/playback in TV shows, interviews and so on, more than tour setlist. But 2 songs performed were known trough snippets and FOMO was a single, so maybe more songs will come in November to tour with album.

Ok well the inclusion of "If You Asked Me To" was a nice surprise even if the key has been lowered. The solo version of "The Prayer" was simply stellar. Incredibly good. I also can't quite believe the French song they've included is Tous Les Blues. Great choice in my opinion.

Celine and team do seem to have a staple 20/25 songs that they just rotate in and out of shows. Nothing truly "new" is rarely added. How good it would be to have a random never performed album track or two thrown into the set list. On saying that the vast majority of the set list will be fine to the general public. There are real mega Celine hits in there which is great. All the staples you would expect at a Celine Dion show are there and they sound amazing!

The only glaring problem (for me) is the lack of songs from "Courage." I truly hope the people saying more songs will be added after the album is released are correct. The tour is named after the album. It is. That's a fact. For there to only be 2 songs from it currently is not good enough. And yes, in the USA at least, I agree "Imperfections" needs to be performed. Out of the 4 new tracks we've heard so far surely it's the easiest to sing? In my opinion keeping "You're The Voice" and that random medley over songs from the new album isn't right particularly when the tour is named the "Courage World Tour." This isn't "Celine Dion Live 2019."

One thing doesn't rule out the other, right? We can wish her recovery and health back, and still wish and have expectations right?

I don't quite understand your comment. People travels and spends crazy loads of money to see her. They have expectations too, and that doesn't have anything to do to wish her well with her voice! ;)

My point is, be grateful for what we have. We have seen over the past month that she is strong but fragile at the same time.

Yes she could push the set list more, but it seems just getting the tour together, her first without Rene, has been an achievement for her. In teeters of people paying lots of money to see her, we all make the choice to do that, she doesn't force you to go. It was clear in Quebec that she was proud of the show.

Even though she's been perfoming some same songs during every show/tour, let's simply enjoy Céline being on a WORLD tour and having a lot of fun doing so ^_^ I'm so thrilled she has brought back IYAMT!

And I'm sure we'll have more changes once the album is out! ;) For some reasons, she's maybe not able/allowed to introduce more new songs on stage now.

"Have faith" :)

She's amazing!

yeah let's be thrilled and hopeful like always

ohhh it's Vegas she can't bring anything new > let's hope she brings sth new in Asia > oh it's still the tour in between Vegas so she didn't have time to rehearse sth really new let's hope she will be creative for the final year > oh she brought something new to Vegas, Live 2018, okay let's be hopeful Vegas will end and she will be reborn in London > Hello London, well she didn't have time to rehearse after Vegas and she wants to keep everything secret until the tour comes, we can wait, the best is yet to come > Bonsoir Quebec! she didn't have much time after Vegas she needed to rest and after all it's an English tour to promote the new English album, so probably they were less creative with French setlist this time and will suprise us with the English setlist > Cleveland okay she was sick she can't do more, but it's not being sick it's what they planned all along, surely new album will come out in Nov and they will change and unveil new setlist let's be hopeful and happy for what crap we've got > late Nov 2 or 3 more Courage songs added! SPECTACULAR but she didn't tour America in 2016,2017,2018 so she can keep the whole setlist.... Europe will be different daaaaaa

There are two type of audiece go to her concert, die hard fans and general audience. I think she and her team faces difficulties to balance the needs of general audience and her die hard fans.

Her die hard fans demand songs she rarely (never) perform on stage before. She has many hits over the years widely known by general audience. If she perform, let’s say, most of the setlist with those hits, die hard fans will complain, where’s those songs of her catalogue she rarely perform? But if they take another route and fill the setlist with those rare songs, general audience will be disappointed that she don’t perform songs they know. Most of audience is general audience I think. I -a die hard fans- know Us, Somebody Love Somebody, Miles to Go, etc. But my friends, a general audience, don’t know those songs at all. When they went to Celine’s concert, they expect a setlist full of her biggest hits. On the other hand, they also need to fill the setlist with new songs from Courage.

In the end of the day, for the concert, there are three type of songs. Her biggest hits widely known by the general audience, songs she rarely perform, and new songs from the album Courage. I think it’s not easy for them to manage those three types of songs into setlist.

But I agree that she and her team should remove covers from the setlist completely since she has enough material from her own catalogue.

Honestly, when the album comes if they add another 4-5 new songs from the album, this set list will be absolutely great for me. However i think we do need to keep in mind, this is gonna be a 2 year world tour, there are gonna be changes as it progresses, i think people are forgetting that. To tell the truth tho, if she had performed FOMO and Imperfections I think last nights complaining wouldve been less

It's not her first tour without René right? She's done a tour in 2016, another one in 2017 and again in 2018, covering pretty much many places without him.

I do get she still gets emotionally thinking she has not René by her side, but Jesus, she's not the lonely widow woman grieving at home with barely nobody around her to give her a shoulder to lean on. Let's be a bit less sentimental here and more realistic. She has a team of dozens of people working for her, personal assistants and even members of her family travelling with her since she was a teenager. The only thing she has to do is select the songs she wants to sing and ask her music director and band members to arrange the song to be played live. And then rehearse the song. It's not like she has the toughest job in the world okay

I'm all for empathy and feeling sorry when she struggles and loses her voice, but I'm not the kind of acquiescent fan excusing her for something she could do MUCH better without any stress and work on her side.
