As usual negative comments come mainly from people not attending the show, while those there are giving positive reviews. You don't plan a two year world tour with old gems that only fans know. The hits (will always be there) plus the new songs don't give too much room when you are doing a bilingual show. Let's wait for the English setlist to judge. BUT, what the h*** are doing Your are the voice and Kiss there? Those two need to go.

 

Also if someone thinks the production, the seltlist or Celine voice is not worth what they are charging just don't buy a ticket, nobody is forcing you.

 

Btw, she looks stunning, probably the best since 2007.

In fact i am watching it on my big 4k tv. Not complaining about the (huge!) stage, visuals, outfits, sound- everything you want a show to be - lying down and courage are great. the rest is also up to par but there is so much we already have heard many many times before.

WOW! The production for this gour is quite good! The stage, the visuals, the interlude. They als have screens on the stage maybe? Cause from the video, I just realized that they have the cisuals kn the stage surface's too

Given the situation, the song she could add is of course Imperfections. Once again I hope her and her team

will see it's a song that can work great in live and this kind of song isn't killing her vocal chords.

I personally don't care about her belting notes, and would love her to persevere her voice much as possible

I can't imagine her singing LD for example in some years from now, jazzy songs I do see her singing maybe in a more limited

range but they might still sound awesome.

 

In one recent interview she said she would want at one point to perform is smaller places

and maybe doing unplugged show. I totally loved this idea, it worked well at the beginning of PQTME

 

From videos I've seen the audience seemed to enjoy a lot the French songs,

and Celine seemed to have a great time as well. She looked so happy!

She did some great renditions to her French hits, it was really nice to hear at the very end PQTME

MHWGO in this stage doesn't do much for me, it can be left out but I know that won't never happen.

 

Don't bitching too hard. I'm sure the setlist will have some major changes later on.

 

She looked lovely in the black pants and white shirt (Has someone found HQ photos of this outfit?)

Lovely hairstyle that I wish will stay with her many years to come.

 

Some of the people who went and bashed for writing the album-before-the Tour is not that good idea

are now complaning there should be more songs from Courage (Say what?!)

Guys, I'd suggest for all of us who have not been there and have watched the show through mobile cameras' recordings, to calm down.

 

The official photos prove that the stage is very, very chic, full of graphics, with elements that indeed move (the elevator in the centre, the big led screen over celine, the drum set, the drones, etc), very modern and very stylish. That includes the graphics, the videos and the darker, yet impressive lighting. And judging by the videos only, she uses a lot the catwalks. In combination to the best stylistic choices from all her previous concert tours, here we have the best, simple, elegant, sublime, contemporary, not-cheesy, not over the top, yet spectacular Celine. Totally in synch with the aesthetics of our time. (Remember some kimonos over pantsuits, or leather pantsuits, crazy hair, garbage black haute couture dresses, silver boots, candles with electric lights floating around her, etc etc?).

 

Regarding the setlist now. We were all complaining abou the same order of songs and now that she does the bold move to start with ITACMTMN (which serves perfectly a purpose, as it is her 1st world tour in years and indeed "all" come "back to her now") we complain? We wanted new songs and we got 3 new ones 2 months before the album release. We complained about overused songs. She removed BYLM and LCMM, and added a nice mix of hits and deep cuts of her french repertoire (SISDA or EUS along with RM and TLBSEPT or even AV!).

I think it was a nice selection, that flowed well.

Regarding You're the voice, it's clear that this tune is going to be RDMH number 2. Soulful, fits her like a glove, gets the audience and has a very good energy. I see it being recorded. Let;s not be surprised if we see it in the deluxe edition of COURAGE. (Again, do you remember RDMH performed live from 1995 ending in FIY album in 1996?).

 

The only complain I can understand is the butchering of FOMO and generally the dance medley. But still the crowd was getting it (judging by the videos only)

 

I think that there is room for improvements, vocally, in her energy, when she relaxes a bit, and I strongly believe that the true identity of the tour will be on when both the album is released (more new songs) and the setlist is Anglophone only.

 

All in all, I am proud of her and I liked what i Saw last night. Waiting for Europe (and Play me like a love song of course! :) )

So this happened. Celine was so gracious tonight after the show. She stopped the car for about 15 minutes and signed and took pictures for about everyone.

 

She told me she likes my sweatshirt. I said that i love her and traveled all the way from Indiana and i loved it. She said thankyou for coming. It wasn't my best photo but hey she looked fantastic and I'm not complaining.

I wanted to make a joke about being the same age as LCMM which got dropped for first time in my life, but figured that small bit may be enough to revive it and people wouldn't be happy with me lol.

 

The show

 

First, i love that this for me was an unspoiled setlist. Ive now seen six setlists. All six were within the first three shows for each "setlist"..." closest i ever came to being unspoiled before was in bordeaux where i only knew the first two songs. Didn't even know that here. Tonight i was unaware of anything and i am glad i came just for that.

 

The visuals in person do definitely add some perception to the performances. I

wouldn't say its the best I've seen at any show (in general), but for celine the visuals were a step up from anything relating to her previous shows.

 

Whether it was celine appearing in front of a backdrop to add to the song (like EUS) or the multiple interludes, overall visuals were good.

I am glad the interludes were done like this rather than giving barnev a song.

 

iacbtmn was an interesting choice to open with. The unison tease to start had me more excited than iacbtmn!!

 

In recent years quebec shows seen 80% french which was great. I think the english headlining tour caused a slight conflict on not knowing the best balance of english vs french, but i think this was a good balance.

Everyone complaining needs to remember the setlist will change several songs come cleveland. Hopefully by time the rest of the predictables are placed there is still room for a classic longly untouched gem or two.

 

Highlights: a vous, regarde moi, tous les blues sont ecrits pour toi, the interludes, and the new covers.

Lowlights- you're the voice and kiss. No "opportunity" to sometimes let fans sing mhwgo ending.. *cough* please go back to live on this ending.

 

Also, i just want to say I've thought many times about what it would sound like for celine to sing another one bites the dust. I am happy it sounded as great as i anticipated.

 

So my trip here is very short and i head home tomorrow. Very glad i came. It was nice to talk to several of you after the show too!

 

Also i got several videos of full songs but connection here is too slow to upload tonight. Will be tomorrow.

And so much for that ‘creative team’ around her. What on earth are they doing and thinking?

 

I won’t watch for the time the videos to keep the surprise for the next summer, she needs to train her voice like she did for the 2017 tour where her voices sounds a lot like in 90´s or during the asian part of the tour... she has no choice, if she wants to sing, she needs rest it and train it.

I saw the videos of the tour, I found it amazing.

my good points:

• the stage is amazing, much bigger than I thought;
  
• the videos are well produced, she looks beautiful in the videos;
  
• I thought the setlist was confusing, I thought it had more songs from the EUS, I think it was meant to be all in English, let's have surprises when she starts touring in the United States.
  
• I hope that FLying My Own is sung full;
  
• The medley I found without power, I did not like much.

I have to say something about the Ballet video. I never tend to watch such things

but this time it had something very special, it did touched me.

It was there Celine the human being, going for her dreams

she danced there so lovely.

She evokes great appreciation and inspiration for the strong woman she is.

I just watched the intro and It's All Coming Back To Me Now, and she sounds incredible. I actually liked that she opened with it. It's different, so I appreciate that. I'm gonna watch the rest of your videos now. I'm excited for the French songs! I just gotta say though, Celine really belongs on stage, and I'm always reminded of that when I see her. She has such a confidence and she seems so comfortable there. Imagine being so good at being a star.

I found the show very good, but we just need some tweaking on the setlist, looking at the show in general, I think she doesn't need dancers, but just tweaking the songs so they can flow better.

Swap some covers for your own songs, You Are The voice is gone.

Put some Uptemp songs after the videos, it gets better. flows better.

And what about LCMM, thank God this song came out, I hope it doesn't come back soon, an evolution.

About the French songs I expected more from your EUS songs and some never sung would sound better. They need to learn if they want an intimate show or a dance show.

I believe things will change at English shows.

Who needs Maddie Ziegler?! She can do clearly do her own dancing.

Now I really hope she goes back to making proper videos because it would be such a great outlet for this new passion. It's hard for her to do live on stage - she's got to focus on the singing - but videos would be such a great vehicle. Here's hoping!

Overall disappointed with the setlist. Do you remember how Scott said they listened her entire repertoire untile late in the morning and found some gems??? Where are they?? Celine was full of new creative ideas ? Can't see much. The intro video is good but then... IACBTMN? Again? WTF! It ruins the complete mood of the intro.

 

At this point, i'm certain the intro in Montreal will be Dans un autre monde... again.

 

Only the dance video interludes are mesmerizing. But again, they're video. No dancing number... no dancers. I'm sorry to say but it's flat and boring.

 

So she doesn’t dance on stage at all!! Just on video with Pepe? Well perhaps that’s why he said he wasn’t dancing on stage this time - jeez, why are members on here going on about it as if it’s part of the actual live show?!

iM not in love with the setlist, but it,s personnal, For the rest it seems that the production is great , visual etc. i think that if you were not there, you can't judge that aspect.

 

Her voice will be better in the next shows, the first are never her best, it takes some time . Her looks were great.

) and I LOVE IT !!! I know that some of you are disappointed but... I think she loves those songs and I'm happy to see her happy to sing them !

 

(and hopefully I was in London and saw "Flying on my own" entirely ahahah. But I'm sure that "Flying on my own" would be entire for the English-speaking shows.

I absolutely loved the ballet video!! Of all the videos that was the highlight for sure! Second was the pool/water video leading into MHWGO. And I watched via a mobile device lol. I did notice her voice did sound a little shaky for some reason....not sure if her earpiece's weren't working, if it was just nerves, or what exactly. But it's ok because that's how you also know it's live. It happens. Hopefully, if it was something technical, they'll resolve it before the US dates / next shows in Canada. If it was nerves, I hope she realizes how much we all love her and she gets out of her own head and just nails it like we know she can. My thoughts on the setlist: my initial reaction wasn't overly impressed. BUT: it's an English tour and 9 out of the 10 French songs she did last night will be replaced for the US leg. I think we all need to calm down and wait for the first Ohio show to see what it really is. I do like the medley being different from what it has always been. What I'm hoping for is other hits that haven't been performed in a while (IYAMT) and I'm sure we'll still have TTWII. There's still plenty of opportunity here to be so caught up after last night.

 

Whatever it turns out to be, I will go and enjoy every min of it. Live is always different than via a video. Always.

By the way, if I COULD understand the critics about the setlist, I can't stand the critics about her voice. PLEASE. After that don't be surprized if it is lipsync.... I really appreciate her live voice, even when she's tired / nervous or something. It is SO MUCH BETTER than lipsync....
