The setlist has a total of 11 French songs and 14 English songs (including the songs in the medley). I'm hoping the English setlist will have some gems and other great hits.

Judging by this 9 of these will be replaced with English songs. I'm hoping EUS will be the French song we get. If the teaser she posted over the summer holds up I'm somewhat hopeful we'll get WFTM, which would leave 8 slots. I'd love IYAMT, one song from LMBTL and I'm sure Imperfections will be part of the English set. That leaves 5 more slots for some other regulars and/or back catalogue.

She puts on a heck of a show no matter the set list - we got a fairly good mix of old and new. The tour will definitely evolve as it goes. LOVED the new visuals and arrangements. Every outfit was stunning. She looks SO dang good. I hope this hairstyle stays for a while.

I love all the new videos/interludes, love her look, love the new MHWGO intro and the arrangement for PQTME (including the video wall showing audience singing together). I really do appreciate all those new creative stuff.

 

As for the setlist, I wished they would have picked few of her own songs that had never been performed live before or in a long time. I am also not a fan of the elements that they took from the Vegas run (Kiss, You are th voice".

 

I wish Celine a good rest tonight and that her voice will be in top top shape for the rest of the tour.

Im beyond glad I didnt spend money to go see these shows.

Can you tell us once again that you won't spend money on these shows? You sound like a bitter recording machine.

The setlist may seem weird but contrary to last tours in France / Quebec, this is a bilingual setlist hence difficult to get deep cuts

 

And we see lost of videos of different tours on youtube whereas for the general public this is not the case, eg. certain hits that we may see "often" have not been performed in Quebec for a long time, eg. BATB or Ziggy. With Vegas and mini-tours there are a lot of songs that we have actually seen through the last years but that at the end have not been performed in all locations.

 

So I guess this exercise is a bit difficult. Somehow the pure anglo setlist may be more coherent and daring. Let's wait for the Cleveland show.

 

Just like when she has quasi full French show, eg in 2013, 2016 or 2017.

 

Wondering then if next year I should skip the shows in France and go to Germany or UK instead

 

Regarding covers, it's Céline: she likes this. Always has, always be. It's her DNA. She is performer of songs. Actually, it's quite courageous.

Well they did say this was a more bilingual set list. Think of it this way; theres 9-10 french songs to be cut for english shows, so don’t worry yet

Overall opinions on tonight...

 

Pros: Courage and Lying Down were amazing, glad that A vous and TLB are still part of the French setlist and nice to see Regarde-moi back, she looks absolutely stunning, beautiful visuals and interludes, LCMM is cut finally, uptempo medley is energetic (though I would have rather seen FOMO and Imperfections sung in full instead), and the new MHWGO intro is refreshing

 

Cons: Vocals were definitely shaky at some points, probably just because it's the first show, really wished YTV stayed in Vegas, Kiss is kinda a slap to the face in the dance medley, also a bit surprised by the lack of time spent with the audience... I was expecting some talking points similar to TCWT, even similar to the 2017 or 2018 tours, maybe she'll do more of that in the English shows?

 

Definitely did get my hopes a bit too high after hearing that they were digging through the back catalog, but it's a Celine show, and based on the trends in the last several years, this is kinda what I imagined for a realistic setlist... (really glad I did go to see the 2016 tour ) Still anticipating what the English setlist will be like though.

You guys have to understand the tour is not just purely for the fans. It is to serve wider audience. I was in new zealand concert last year. Half of the audience are not die hard fans, but people are still willing to fork out expensive ticket just to see her just because she is celine. So for non hardcore fans who have not followed her career, they probably only know bits of oldies and signature songs, the rest of the songs they have to rely on cover to get something that the audience can relate to, otherwise it won't please the other half of the target audience

Not sure if anyone has posted, but there’s merch now! It just came in.. looks like three different shirts? Can’t see too well but one is the standard silver dress that has been on promos for the courage tour, another looks like the album cover. They have the cities on the back.

Yes and no. I saw Cher and Cyndi Lauper a few years ago, and they didn’t perform covers (except a few each they had recorded respectively on their albums). LTAL and FIY are two of the biggest albums in the 1990s. ANDHC and OH were successful too... so by logic, anyone who’s bought these albums would be familiar with some of the B-sides and deep cuts, even if they’ve only heard them a few times. All it takes is hearing them live, and they’ll be that much more familiar to them.

[I Drove All Night!]

First show in a while where I legit loved all the costumes. I also think it's awesome she brought back the classic jumpsuit! A few of the costumes were definitely a little nostalgic for me... the second outfit with the big sleeves reminded me of TCOMl era, once the sleeves were removed it was reminiscent of the black and red cummerbund from LTAL (which I always loved!) And the medley outfit reminded me of her FIY jumpsuits and her Bee Gees suit from LTAL all rolled into one. I loved them!!!

OF course i am. But im trying to keep a little optimism for the english shows. If they get worse with another cover and just hits with zero back catslogue or zero “used-to-do-these-songs” moments ill be selling my tickets. Point blank period
