if this is mainly what we are gonna get i will keep my money for something else. It is not worth it. Don’t call a tour Courage when almost nothing from that album is performed. She was talking about so many intefesting ideas etc but yet there is nothing new..yes a David Bowie cover! How long has there been a demand from many fans to do Then you look at me? ..sorry.. i pass this tour, at least the Antwerp or Paris one. Hope she will surprise us with the english tour setlist...

Okay than forget more new songs from the album.... where are hidden back catalogue gems?? They claimed to have looked for those gems in her discovery! What they came with zero, zip , nada??? Outta bilingual career spanning 30 plus years it’s beyond sad and pathetic that we had to hear “You’re The Voice” & “ Kiss”.

Was trying to avoid spoilers as much as possible but first post on my fb feed...the setlist and for a moment, as all written in English, I thought it was all mainly new songs doh! Well it was 6.45 am!!

 

Anyway, without looking at too much, I think it’s all too safe. This setlist seems very banal to me and if she’s only starting out with 20 songs (if you include the medley as one), what will we end up with, 15? We all know she’s well known for cutting out stuff as it goes. And YTV and Kiss, really? The former should have stayed in Australia where it belongs and the latter Vegas. Only 2 new songs and a hidden FOMO in the medley. I guess Scott was telling the truth when he said there would be a couple of new songs? Also got the impression the show was going to include multiple medleys to ‘fit as many songs in as possible’?!

 

I’m not impressed with the stage at all, as I said from the beginning. It doesn’t look any better than the summer tours of previous years and what about the ‘things moving in space’ no ones mentioned that so did nothing like that happen?

 

Pepe dancing again, it’s enough already, he’s had his time of glory. I want actual dancers incorporated in a show. This is what a world tour should be these days.

 

I worry about the English setlist as I always feel her French shows show way more risk taking in the setlist and this shows nothing new and seems extremely short for her standards for French shows.

 

I honestly love the bones of her and do feel that in her mind this is a fantastic show but she needs creative guidance. She, bless her, never really had that, other than interpreting a song, and the people in her team are doing their jobs, visuals and lighting, as that’s their specialty but there’s so much more needed. A concept for one!!

 

Honestly, gonna think long and hard about buying tickets for any UK dates now and I never thought I’d say that!!

I think people need to stop bashing the ones who in their eyes 'complain'

 

When they say in a interview that they listened to all her songs till 3 in the morning, and they come up with the same ones. How that's possible is beyond me.

 

From what I heard the arrangements were a bit different, which is good.

 

And I truly think the English show will be more Courage.

They definitely need to add at least 7 songs from that album.

Than I will be good with the same old same old.

 

But you have to agree, some songs placement is definitely off.

 

When you play Unison remix before it gets dark, and have a smashing bold intro video where you hear the words 'Courage' and than she comes up with the words It's All Coming Back To Me Now, someone told her yes when he should have said NO.

That would have been a great opportunity for the song Courage. Or at least have a new playback for IACBTMN.

 

Same goes for the stunning uptempo fashion interlude, she comes up with L'Amour Exciste Encore.

 

How in the world do they not see that those 2 things don't 'flow'

 

The visuals are an upgrade, so is the stage, wish she would use the catwalks more.

The drones are a nice addition for MHWGO but really at the end of the show they use them?

 

Here is hoping that the English setlist will be creative and show what they talked about in the press.

 

Even the 2017 setlist showed more courage and songs from waaaaaay back.

Like TCOML, My Love, TC. Great move.

 

I guess it was difficult to find a balance for the bilingual shows.

 

She will always do covers and she is good at it, but with this setlist it was unnecessary. Like someone said if she changed it up with her French oldies, the balance would be better.

Oh and please give FOMO its own place to shine, she is having so much fun with it.

 

+ Regarde-Moi, A Vous, Terre, visuals, intro videos, her ballet new intro for MHWGO, her wig, good fashion.

Hope she feels relaxed soon and loosens a bit

So this happened. Celine was so gracious tonight after the show. She stopped the car for about 15 minutes and signed and took pictures for about everyone.

 

She told me she likes my sweatshirt. I said that i love her and traveled all the way from Indiana and i loved it. She said thankyou for coming. It wasn't my best photo but hey she looked fantastic and I'm not complaining.

I wanted to make a joke about being the same age as LCMM which got dropped for first time in my life, but figured that small bit may be enough to revive it and people wouldn't be happy with me lol.

 

 

Tyler I am so happy for you! The crowd seemed small on the video how many were there? I love that she stopped the car finally after so long. Tbh she seemed quiet in the video but I understand she must have been exhausted but still very thoughtful thing to do. And the crowd seemed calm from what I saw they were screaming like mad like in some of the Vegas vids I'd seen so you could actually tell her you wanted something which sadly you rarely get a chance to do with meet and greets unless you're super fast and don't freeze on the spot! Glad you had a great night look forward to the media from you.

Love Celine, but let’s call this setlist what it is, LAZY. A easy choice of songs nothing out of box; hell the Vegas show was better.

The energy and the love in the arena were lovely to experience tonight.

 

I see a lot of disappointment, which does not surprise me, as we all have different expectations from the show.

 

Do appreciate the effort for new interludes, visuals and general presentation, it's all new for them, in the past years...

 

Be greatful for the huge amount of live (note ABM), albeit through so much nerves and with new repertoire...

 

She does not come across as an artist who needs dancers, her stamina and way of covering the stage feels enough; she spent quarter/ half songs sometimes on the catwalks...

 

Setlists are never the ideal ones...I am always happy to hear songs being a first live for me/her, plus favourites.

Sure, I'd like a new intro, more old French stuff, no You're the voice, BATB, RDMH, a Medley from her own repertoire, but this does not take from.the joy of the moment.

 

Maybe one day she will do those small arenas with B sides and whatever we dream of.

 

Still excited for the next 2 Quebec shows, no regrets here!

I won't lie I wanted her to do a little bit more dancing don't go crazy ala AND but one or two would be nice more along the lines of TCWT and I wish the setlist had a bit more of the new album or least some songs that aren't played as often but again only night one there's plenty of time to change things up. I always remember how Rene said night one of AND he surveyed the audience and read papers and such on what they thought of the show the songs choices the wardrobe etc and from there they adjusted in time. I'm hoping that happens. I did kinda figure with such a short amount of time between Vegas and BST she prob wouldn't have time to put together a completely new show so I kinda expected that it would be like this and as I said prob evolve over time.

They had plenty of time... have been planning this show for almost a year. TCWT had less time for rehearsals.

I do think (and hope) this tour will develop over time, I also do think the English show will be better, it must be difficult to put together a truly bilingual show whilst trying to promote a new album as well as give french songs, hence why the french songs included DONT go into huge depths of her discography. I truly think (which saddens me) that theyve put alot of the focus on this tour for Anglo audiences and an Anglo show, to be fair it is going to be an Anglo show like 85%-90% of the tours duration, but its still rather sad for her Quebec and Montreal audiences that they didnt get an “incredible” (whatever your definition of incredible is) show.

btw the stage does look better and i loved the mhwgo interlude. And that wig or hairdo...sorry she looks so much better with longer hair. Kill me, fry me or whatever and call me a hater but you pay so much money for her shows and this is what they come up with?

Loved the outfits. The red dress, the hair......killer!! Also, normally, I really dislike pantsuits, but the silver one piece was fabulous! I'm wondering if she was having trouble hearing well. She was flat much of the time and a little shaky on the high notes. I'm not French, but it seems like most of the French songs are pitched uncomfortably high. Not sure what was happening there. Hopefully, tomorrow they can straighten out all the little glitches. I agree with you all, the beginning of MHWGO was fantastic! Hoping a high quality recording comes out of this somewhere. (only because I wish to see the costumes more clearly!) Thank you all for posting your videos!

I do consider a tour that’s purpose is to promote a new album, a difficult setlist to put together. I will say it kinda should be a balance of hits vs new songs, rather than rare gems etc or you stand the risk of losing half the general audience who have no clue about the new album tracks let alone old ones. I seen this during TC tour during those new album songs and definitely during the RTD and LIAWN numbers in 2017. No matter what us die hard fans want she’s never going to open a show with TYLAM as is mentioned to death on here!! It ain’t ever gonna happen lol. The closest we’ll get to this was already done during her 2016/2017 French and 2017 English setlists as these were shows where she had a bit more freedom as kinda like greatest hits setlists as she had nothing to promote during these shows.

 

What irks me is that it would’ve been nice to change up the ‘hits’ to different ones than the ones she’s been performing on a regular basis, that’s all. She does have a huge catalogue of French and English hits to choose from but always plays it safe with the same ones.

I ´m looking at setlist again and again and I dont´understand ... after nearly 40 years of career she need to do covers? Again? This setlist is very poor IMO. She had so many songs french and english. Why not give them chance at least durign medley Why she keep You are the vocie for example absolutly don ´t understand. She was talking bout ideas etc ... I don t´see much new ideas for now ... What was special, what was new? Where there some dancers at least durign show? On the positive note, costumes are all very nice, Céline looks great and I love performance of Lying down. Hope english setlist wil be better.

Shes never usually at her best vocally at the opening night of anything. Case and point her Tokyo show in 2018, 2 days later in Macau she sounded incredible. Im sure by Friday she will have straightened out vocally

The start with IACBTMN right after the intro was extremely weak and the long pause before the song started was awkward. They should change that.

 

Also, including Another one bites the dust and other totally old covers was totally silly, especially You’re the voice. I wouldn’t mind one good cover, like Love of my life in 2017, but not that.

 

I liked what they did with the medley; it’s fluent and not chopped between the songs. The song choice is a different story though.

 

I’m glad LCMM is finally gone!

 

As other members pointed out, the placement of some songs is not good.

 

The outfits were great and not crazy. I liked that (IMO the black garbage dress and the white Lady Gaga dress during her 2017 tour were ridiculous, so I’m glad she didn’t repeat the same thing here).

 

The visuals are superb and I love them. It’s all modern and up to date, but all in all I expected much more and what I saw didn’t let me speechless. I think the 2017 tour was better when it comes to the tracklist and coherence. I hope the English shows will be better.

Btw we know how long they’ve been planning but how long has she been rehearsing for it did she say? I’m just wondering if due to her still recording the album and the end of Vegas and lead up promo and such she didn’t really rehearse again idk just guessing I’ve been a bit out of the loop so I probably have missed a lot. The French songs well I don’t speak the language so I never followed her French catalogue so I can’t say but her French songs tonight I def knew but I didn’t like how parts of it were straight up rehash of Vegas atleast change the order
