I will admit, this isn’t the setlist i exactly had in mind. But no, I am not complaining about it. I am realizing this is what Celine wanted so it is fine by me! I don’t understand the level of hate over a setlist of all things! Just go, enjoy yourself. Celine will put on a good show, that’s what I’m planning on doing! I’m going to go for Celine herself. That’s the blessing.

The setlist has a total of 11 French songs and 14 English songs (including the songs in the medley). I'm hoping the English setlist will have some gems and other great hits.

Ok, actually really liked that PQTME. I'm glad the whole thing wasn't acoustic. Having it build into that horn section was great. I loved it!

So, absolutely nothing from the records of her beginnings that helped get her to where she is, nothing from 1f&4t, nothing from D’elles, and nothing from Sans attendre? Yet, a slew of covers? If that’s what makes an artist, then that’s pretty sad.

Tons of amazing Celine songs in this set list! I imagine a couple of the covers will get chopped soon and replaced with more songs from Courage.

 

It’s a fabulous show! She’ll get stronger and stronger once those jitters go away. I bet this is very emotional for her!

Youre the voice and kiss were my two big negatives. As well iacbtmn opened the show.

Purple rain and lcmm out.

Another one bites the dust and lady marmalade were sung, i enjoyed that!! Lets dance which is another cover also sung.

Regarde moi sung. Tous les blues. Courage and lying down als0 premiered. Flying on my own shortened but LIVE. Mhwgo playback at end.

Ok... but the interlude of her and Pepe dancing ballet to ASFY and the intro to the medley and MHWGO were all phenomenal. Those visuals were breathtaking and definitely fresh and new!

The staging and visuals from what I saw were amazing. The MHWGO on intro in particular.

Vocally, she certainly grew into the show and finished strongly. Whether you see the English or the French show you're going to have to accept "the hits" being performed but keeping things like "You're The Voice" which really should've been an Australia tour exclusive is very strange. Literally sing ANY of your own songs Celine! Also, 2 new songs from "Courage" and a minute or so of "Flying On My Own" for the Courage World Tour?

 

The first show of the Taking Chances World Tour had 4 songs from the album, later shows up to 6. I do hope as the tour progresses we get more songs from the new album.

Even though there were hiccups I know she gave it her all! She always does. Rene would be proud, she pushed through a lot to get here.

 

I know she will get stronger and stronger with each show. Bring on this amazing year!

Yeah I expected a bit more.

No gems like Water From The Moon, or Cherche Encore.

 

But not this. But I guess we have to wait until the English setlist, but I have my doubts it will contain songs from her back catalog.

 

They started amazing with that intro video and they killed it with IACBTMN.

 

LOVED the intro videos, loved her NEW songs. Liked the outfits, the wig not so sure but since she has that look in the intro videos I guess that has to stay.

 

I do think that she didn't used the stage to its full capacity. How many times she used that catwalk? 1 time each side?

 

It's an upgraded version of her last summertours. I would thought it would be more than that.

 

Hoping she adds Imperfections to the setlist soon, and give FOMO its own place in the setlist.

 

The covers were amazing though she is good at it, but considering the rest of the setlist is predictable it's too many covers. Otherwise it would be a good balance.

Omg DRONES. Drones!!! THat made me stupid happy lol. There you go, Taking Chances on getting hit by a little piece of AI!

 

Honestly, my favorite part of the whole evening was the stage/visuals design!!! FIRE graphics! I especially loved the planets/eclipses for Courage... complemented the song so well.

 

As for the show itself.. it felt a little uneven, but it makes me weirdly happy cos it means she’s taking risks! She’s not as well oiled as a machine as in days of yore, but she’s making her own machine now, and I can’t wait to see the heights it reaches.
