I understand that it's difficult to build such a show like Adrienne pointed out. Not totally Franco, not totally Anglo, plus promoting the new sound. It's hard.

 

That being said, This is the WORST SETLIST EVER. I love the new Celine, but they just delivered an awful show in my opinion. This is her most What the f*** set list in a bad way since....A long long time ? Even the Asia Tour was more adventurous, with the beautifull acoustic medley.

And finally: It has never been that clear that she just needs to tour, she needs the stage, that's where her heart is. Good. But at one point, you need to be able to deliver, to sing. Beginning with such an average vocal shape, it's just impossible for me that she finnishes it, or in which condition ?

judging from these videos i say the staging is perfect, the lights, the placement of the band, the visuals, the introvideos - all modern and now - with this stage etc plus a perfect setlist this tour can be great. So i still have hope the english setlist will be a big change.

The interlude videos are very good! Love the lying down performance, with some more experience this will be amazing!

 

Overall I’m impressed! Some of you are moaning about no new songs.... this is a French leg..... Can you not see the effort her team has gone to on this tour? The stage is so much better.

I think sometimes we need a reminder ...We are not the only fans and if we are being realistic the larger group of fans buying tickets are more interested in the same songs they've always loved from celine. Maybe with some new songs sprinkled on. Get over yourselves with your expectations...she is giving fans what they want. We aren't the only fans out there. That being said... I LOVE the new music. I hope the more it's heard the bigger the reception becomes 🙃

if she wants to come to holland again i can wait until 2021 if it means a better setlist! and like been said here - those three new songs are gems! i just listened to perfections again and i can see her doing that song live - with dancers. ialready see videoclip rolling in my head! Courage and lying down were perfect this tour. I also hope Ashes will come back. It is her biggest hit now,

Read almost comments & saw pictures about her 1st show yesterday...

First of all to ALL complainers: do understand that Celine could NOT reveal all of new songs from the upcoming Courage album because of release date.

So yes I see you guys replying: whats the point of starting & naming a new tour ‘Courage’ if she cannot really promote this album?

Imo, she’s already promoting it!

She never revealed in the past 3 new songs from an upcoming album at the same time/ same day before!

Once the album will be on the market, I think she will bring some changes on her tour setlist.

I love her hairbun that she wears since few years & def her haircut! Square fits her thin face traits 😀

 

Lastly her voice after watching some her lives: it was bizarre-ly shaky but dont wanna blame it.

She used it for more than 30++ years of singing high, live, talking too much on interviews or concerts. It is not eternal, she cannot have the exact same voice she has on her 20’s/30’s....

Nonetheless what I like is that at the same age of Whitney before she passed & released her last album, Celine’s voice is still consistent & powerful! 👏👏👏 & respect to that!

I'm too saddened and at a loss for word to describe how I feel after seeing this setlist and show.

 

Yes, it's a French show within a world tour presenting a new English album. That's my only hope now, we have to wait to the English shows to have a complete opinion, but it's getting all weaker and slim each year now Let's be honest, we all know that out of those 9-10 French songs that will be replaced, we do know what at least 5/6 of them she's gonna sing in English.

 

Seeing this first show, one could wonder if she really has a team behind her. What concept have these people of "creative team"? I can't believe she's asking those prices to see the same damn show and songs she's been performing countless times, shows, tours and years before.

 

Not even one damn surprise from her back catalogue. Those hideous nonsensical covers in a French show. And MORE covers? FOMO shortened to 1,5 minutes (and this is supposed to be a new song to be promoted in this tour).

 

Where's the so called "spectacularity" of this tour, the "something we've never done before"??? Where are the dancers?? This stage is utterly ridiculous. I can see nothing better or more impressive than what I saw in 2017. Even TCWT was far better in terms of stage and production.

 

The visuals, Celine's ballet number and the new videos - yes, that's been the only light among this huge mess of a first show. But one can expect something more when they're asked to pay $300-$600 for a ticket right?

 

I've though and said many times ago that Celine is a singer who seems to live encapsulated in the past, who doesn't seem to be/want to be nurtured with the novelties that go around in her business. She's an "old fashion" icon, that's right, but her prices don't remain the same stagnant as 20 years ago. This is just too much...

Overall disappointed with the setlist. Do you remember how Scott said they listened her entire repertoire untile late in the morning and found some gems??? Where are they?? Celine was full of new creative ideas ? Can't see much. The intro video is good but then... IACBTMN? Again? WTF! It ruins the complete mood of the intro.

 

At this point, i'm certain the intro in Montreal will be Dans un autre monde... again.

 

Only the dance video interludes are mesmerizing. But again, they're video. No dancing number... no dancers. I'm sorry to say but it's flat and boring.

Kev, I don't pay $500 for a show to see Celine happy, I pay my ticket to be myself happy (too) And I bet everyone who pays a ticket wants to leave the venue happy and satisfied with what they saw.

 

They seriously need to justify the prices they're asking people to pay if they're offering the same damn songs year after year, show after show, tour after tour invariably.

And after LD right away ABM.

There is no flow whatsoever.

And those people get paid to create a show. But switch a few songs here and there and it would flow better.

I think the show started too soon so a lot of new songs are to come.... I do think however there could have been more gems from the past. I suppose I’m just grateful for everything we got yesterday as it blew me away. They are doing so many things right with the album so far, let’s recognise that.

Any magic "You're The Voice" once had has looooooong left the building! Same with "Kiss." The inclusion of David Bowie and (yet more) Queen covers at the expense of either new songs from the "Courage" album or old songs from her repertoire is also bizarre. Please don't disrespect the French speaking audience with the "oh but it's a bilingual show" excuse. I'm sure they could've coped with "Reveal" instead of "Let's Dance" or "Just A Little Bit Of Love" over "Another One Bites The Dust."

 

I actually think the French songs were a good mix of old and new. Plenty of hits there, a few from the most recent album and a few album tracks too. The French songs, in my opinion, are certainly not the problem.

 

There's always (of course) an element of Celine enjoying some songs and wanting to perform them. I remember Rene talking about "The Reason" being "too rock for this audience" when planning the 2011 return to Las Vegas but ultimately "Celine wanted to do it and she's the performer so she's doing it." This might be the case with songs like "You're The Voice" and "Kiss."

 

Someone has said we can't expect more songs from the new album before it is released? So for the next 20 shows before album release date we can only expect 2 songs plus the shameful treatment "Flying On My Own" got? What is she / they scared of? Even do a medley of your new songs. "Here's a taster of what's to come from the new album." Come on guys, the tour is named after the album. It's not unreasonable to expect a healthy percentage of songs from the album to be in the show. No-one at these shows would surely be offended by "new unknown English song from upcoming album" instead of, for example, "You're The Voice."

 

The performances of "Courage" and "Lying Down" for me were among the highlights of the show in addition to the videos, staging and how she looked. Why wouldn't anyone want more of that?
