Why do people keep asking this?

1. It's not out yet, 2. Why would we support piracy?

1.It´s out in my movie theather in many countries.

2. I dont know if its ever gonna be broadcast here in Brazil, maybe in 2023 lol, so thats why I asked, baby. I dont live in Europe, or USA. ;)

No, it's in previews. It doesn't open in France until Nov 11, and other territories later this fall / winter, or early next year. It's been sold to over 20 countries (that we know of so far). Complete list of release dates thus far is here: https://en.unifrance.org/movie/48444/aline

If not theatrically released in your country, it will subsequently be released for VOD like any other release. Given recent collapse in windowing, especially during covid, some of those windows may in fact be concurrent. In any case, a wide release is still some time off, and VOD likely several months after that.

No Brazil in this list, thats okay, I'm gonna wait more days, let´s wait and see when someone put it online for the fans who wont be capable to see it in theatres.

Do not count in days but in weeks or even in months.

I'm a positive person :giggle:

Every time I start the count down they postpone it again. I live in small town in Minnesota, so it will be several months to go before I ever get the chance. But still do count for people who can see it, & hopefully they will tell rest of us what they thought of it. From what I hear could be November 10 for some people. That's my latest count down. Lol. I hope it sticks this time.

I thought she was fine. "Aline" is an old film for her now. She's rehearsing for her next live show. Now I've just seen her interview by Patrick Simonin. I found it strange when she said "I hope Céline sees my film before my death" and "I'm not capable of playing Céline anymore" but apart from that, she seemed fine.

I thought that with the first interview with Yan Barthez one year and a half now, when the movie was fresh for Valérie. It kept on going.

I cannot pinpoint it. Sorry, maybe just an OCD from me! ;)

Here's another interview with Valerie, Victoria Sio and Danielle Fichaud.

On this page, we can learn that Jean-Jacques Goldman rented a lodge in Dordogne, south of France, for his vacations! How interesting! :pinch:

Valerie said she's not capable of playing Celine anymore? Anyone know what her logic was behind that? Thanks

No idea. That's why I thought it was strange. Maybe Valérie gained weight during the lockdowns, and Céline... well, we don't know we haven't seen her in a while.

I don't see why, because it's not like she was the one singing the songs lol. Maybe she meant that she gave the role all she had to give, and now she is leaving it behind.

I hope Celine watches this movie! Valerie seems to think Celine won't.

I can imagine it being very uncomfortable. It might take a lot for her to watch it.

Probably, but if I were having something made about me I would at least skim it or put it on 2x speed to get an idea lol. Especially since this one is very reputable and professional.

I understand Celine's reasoning, but it makes me sad for Valerie if Celine doesn't watch it.

Oh for sure. That's clearly the hope. But realistically, I think it might take Celine more than a few drinks to get through it! I feel like she would at least want others to "vet it" first.

Get some red wine and watch Celine! Nothing will ever be worse than the MadTV or SNL lambastings.

It might be too emotional to see the Rene parts, though...in which cae maybe best to skip the whole thing altogether. Idk. I just feel for Valerie, who to me seems to have the same sweet energy as Celine.

Doubt it, but we’ll see. I for one am not excited one bit for this so I don’t mind to be honest.

The best is yet to come...

Since the movie is primarly based on her love story with René, it sure will be difficult.

It seems genuine, empathetic and respectul. So not harmful at least.

I didn't know it was primarily based on her love with Rene. That makes me slightly less interested, but I am still quite excited for it.

But she and Rene are one. That is basically the story of her life. Meeting him changed her entire life and shaped it for decades. Makes sense that is the angle for the film.

It would be amazing to have a fictional movie based around her upbringing, I find it so fascinating. A Quebec love letter / picture of a very huge, musical, roman catholic family of all ages who were kind of like a traveling band. I think there is something there.

I admire Valerie for achieving what seems like inevitable success as a woman in film, a sexist and ageist industry. She is nearly 60 and yet she took her project from start to finish with creative control, with help but with a lot of her own drive and determination.

I think that is very admirable.

Seeing so many positive reviews from critics. I must say that this film was beautifully done. I’m so excited to see this film. And it’s a 2 hours film so. I’m glad that it’s long.

I’m more excited in this film than the upcoming docu of Céline since they always do documentaries on TV about Céline.

We have a TV movie about Céline back in 2008 but it was bad and this time. Finally! We have a proper and beautifully done movie about Céline. “Aline”
