So I guess at this point we could say that this nameless tour they called simply "Live 201X" is a whole big tour with different legs, extended throughout 3 years right?

 

I guess if we add all the songs she's been performing since 2016, 2017 and 2018, we could get a nice show with many different songs both in English and French (being the French leg more promising than the English leg )

 

well if there is still a middle and south america tour to come, they could film a show there as well and bundle all this shows in one big package, called Celine live - 2016-2020

not cheap but easy is the word what comes up in my mind..

I can only hope she does changes the shows in Australia and New Zealand by adding some interesting songs.

I did like last year's Visuals but a new year, new show you would think, but it is basically dusting off the previous setdesign and setlist.

And one of the best things i liked last year, - the angelic humming before TPOL started, is gone too. So we will not have that on bluray.. that is sad..

And then you have those energetic crowds in Germany and England, yet is has been decided to film in Asia, even though Asia audiences are culturally not that loud or enthusiastic in concerts - that s not bad - that is how it is - but why deciding to tape that show and broadcast it on tv and not that show in England?

I couldn’t agree more! The 2017 tour was a gem, the humming in TPOL, the great mix of RTD and LIAWN with that amazing laser show and ultimately Love of my life in the middle of the arena. I want THAT special show on Bluray and not a recycled Vegas show. That’s my problem. They don’t release the extraordinary 2016 and 2017 tours that the fans are yearning for, but a damn recycled Vegas show.

 

And when the Vegas show ends in a few years, they will release a Bluray of it with the SAME damn tracklist. Oh my God.... please somebody help... get her a proper team\manager and proper advisors...

I agree. It is like different legs of the same tour. I think they should have been honest from the beginning during the press conference "guys, we plan to move the show outside L.V. and give you the possibility to watch it and enjoy it". This would have been very honest and it would definitely be sold-out.

Actually I think that's a great point. She needs to reinvent herself. Instead of proving she can still be the powerhouse she was 20 years ago and can still hit the high notes by miming 50% and straining/struggling the other half she should adapt her songs. She could do acoustic versions or even just bring the songs down a few keys and sing them in a register that suits he 50 year old voice

 

I've always wished she would do an acoustic concert or even just one-off, like an MTV Unplugged-type thing. Highlight the nuance of her voice rather than the power, and showcase the beauty of her songs. Could be a good format for those under- or never-performed gems like Miles To Go, Us, Just Walk Away, Call The Man, La memoire d'Abraham, On s'est aimé à cause, etc, etc, etc. Make it a special show or run of shows in Las Vegas, and advertise or give priority specifically to members of Team Celine, who would appreciate a more intimate performance and rare setlist. Maybe release it as a digital download through iTunes and other platforms. It's not rocket science. I don't know why her team doesn't think outside the box a bit more.

P.S. I think someone should edit the first line of the wikipage about the tour. This is not a tour to support the upcoming English-language album to released in 2018. she spent thirty years singin the things she thinks (or René) people wants to hear . Will be hard to change. But don't worry, the best is yet to come.

I expect to go to a Celine concert and hear the "hits." However, over the years I do expect to begin to hear different arrangements and versions and they have started slowly doing this by introducing the acoustic sets and so on. What continues to frustrate me is the covers. If she's only going to tour once every 10 years to certain parts of the world then really, in my opinion, she should be performing her own songs. Prince again!? Really!?

To the person worried about her voice and saying the ear surgery doesn't affect vocal cords.

It doesn't affect vocal cords but if the surgery wasn't completely sucessful that means that she can't hear herself well and that's enough to affect her singing.

I think that she hasn't fully recovered and I suspect that she probably even considered cancelling this tour.

Not enough time to train her voice/ear with new songs... and also with her band/orchestra. That's probably why she hasn't changed much.

Time will tell.

seriously .....I rather Celine do a unplugged no belting out high n loud notes concert .....her voice is very at the worst especially the reason is hard to listen to

 

if this continue for the rest of her tour then I will foresee whitney Houston in making....remember the last tour whitney had which lots of her fans complained her voice and terribly disappointe.

I totally agree. My point was not to expect her to belt like she used to. I d rather have either a drastic change in the arrangement (to get acoustic versions of her songs / arrangements allowing her to improvise in her current range) or have her to rest AND train as much as possible before coming back. But the current situation has to stop in my opinion. Her vocal condition is very bad. Probably at its worst... Even when she came back after René passed away, she sounded better to me... Please Celine, take a rest OR make a drastic change to your repertoire.

While everyone says the tour sucks this year, remember one thing!! She had ear surgery not too long ago so we can sit hear and say how she doesn’t sing this or the song she chose is boring! But we could’ve lost her forever with her ear problem if it wouldn’t have been treated right!! I’m just grateful to see her touring!!!!

I still can't believe no songs from 2003 to 2016, all those songs I've been listening and grew up with me since I was small.

I understand the frustration, and I myself am a little disappointed. I will be seeing her in Manila on the 19th, and I feel a little bad that I already know exactly what to see in the show.

 

But let's put things in perspective. Her Asian fans haven't seen Celine as much as those in Europe and the US (Vegas). She has never been to the Philippines, where she and Mariah and definitely two of the biggest divas. Of the tens of thousands of fans attending her concerts here in our region, I would assume, statistically, that very few of them are like us who are "die-hard" fans, who get updated every day via this forum, who spend looong hours watching bootlegs of her concert.

 

My brother, whom I going to the concert with, is a Celine fan definitely, has listened to all her English albums. But unlike me, he hasnt got the time to watch Celine's concerts online and compare Live 2016, 2017, 2018 and Vegas shows. I am 110% sure he will love the concert in Manila next month, even with this setlist that we find boring and mediocre.

 

Next time we think ill of Celine again, let's pause and try to see from the eyes of other fans who are the actual majority of concertgoers.

Usually I don't like to complain because I know that it takes a lot to build a show, to record an album... etc, but c'mon, after two consecutive spectacular tours, all they do is to bring most of the Vegas show on the road?

she needs to do more songs like unison with a new arrangement. make her songs fresh as most of them sound old and boring when you hear them for the hundredth time (in our cases maybe the ten thousandth time hahah). it just feels sad that she is all about being a money machine instead of being artistic and create music that is timeless.

The solution to the problem..

 

Celine needs to finish her Vegas contract and take a sabbatical for awhile, until she feels the urge to be a creator of a one of a kind show..Shes capable, it's clear she's burnt out. No other artist of her caliber pays tribute to Prince for near 5 years straight. She's now sang Purple Rain more than a Prince tribute artist.
