and sorry Celine if you read all the critic but then do something with it and rehearse new songs instead of doing a fashionshow in front of your hotel and spice up that show. You can do better than this. A fashionshow, we love the outfits, but the songs, man there a so so so many songs to sing.. be creative!

SHE creates those high expectations. The press conference. Almost avoiding the questions about music, but it's been said already here: "I will adapt the show to the songs that are big in each country", "give me the songs you want to hear" and so on. What's the result? This show? Please...

 

We don't create high expectations. She creates them when she says these things and "the best is yet to come". What "best"? Doing the same for a decade? When? Must be in the personal territory, because what her career is concerned... phewww

 

I've been going back and forth on my opinion about the setlist all morning, and I still have pretty mixed feelings about it, but I will say that at this point I cringe every time I hear her say "the best is yet to come," because at this point it feels meaningless. She's been saying it for years, as if she's about to embark on some creative resurgence that is never quite fully realized.

I actually watched the whole show live (thanks to the amazing guy who broadcasted it on YouTube!). I m not even gonna talk about the setlist... I do agree with many people here saying enough is enough. What i am more worried about is her voice condition... Have you listened to the concert? I mean... It's seriously concerning to me. And it can't be surgery. This type of surgery does not damage vocal chords... I actually feel for her. But I believe she d better rest and come back in shape when she s ready. This is not respectful for the people who paid so much money...

And don't worry, sure, there's gonna be some changes in the setlist : she will REMOVE some songs 😋😛 (and when I hear how she's struggling to sing "The Reason" by example, that would be a good decision 😉)

Maybe this set list was tailored for the filming of this concert, which is going to be broadcast on TV. There are MANY casual fans who will not have bought tickets to the show, but will watch it on TV. The best chance at high ratings would be to have a setlist like we had last night. We shall see.

Putting the ticket prices in perspective... Morrissey fans are refusing to go to his concerts this year because the tickets are now £70.. that's general entry standing so you could be front row!

 

I can't compare his fame with Céline as they are completely different but personally because of Céline's ticket prices I find his to be very cheap lol

I must say I am so impressed with the venue and glad to see drone camera being used. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with the footage they got tonight.

Umm...Whitney Houston ruined her voice with drugs. She deteriorated the cartilage in her nose from cocaine use, and burned her esophagus by smoking crack and marijuana laced with cocaine. Very different. Whitney’s voice had irreprarable damage due to chemical drug use. Celine’s vocal condition cannot even be compared to this.

That's what really matters. All positive comments from the japs who watched that show. Positive comments outside this forum should be consistent there should be no negative comments.

I’m so glad I didn’t wait up for the Tokyo show. Celine will always go down as my favorite vocalist of all-time. The things she can do with her instrument are jaw-dropping. However, when it comes to artistry, she comes nowhere close. She was getting close to changing my mind with the last couple of tours, but now, it’s one step back. Any hope of seeing “Be The Man” performed live is now shot. And I highly doubt we’ll ever see the return of “The Power Of The Dream” or “A World To Believe In.” Furthermore, I think it’s safe to say we will not be getting “Next Plane Out,” “I Love You,” “I Love You, Goodbye,” or “Tell Him” during this tour. I’m (not surprisingly) disappointed again.

The reason alternated between impressive notes and atrocious notes. In the end we had screeching cat lady 😂

There're also complaints about the VIP package in Facebook, apparently they've cut the amount of goodies and it's basically the same black box of last year with the wallet and luggage tag but now given with a plastic bag

Yes, actually she's been repeating that mantra in almost every interview since 2004/2005. But that best seems never to come in her career. She's totally stuck with it

It's Echo

 

Some singers do that when belting. It helps also to be consistent when belting.. Adds resonance too with reverb

 

for example the last belting note of Mimi's Angels Cry

Actually I think that's a great point. She needs to reinvent herself. Instead of proving she can still be the powerhouse she was 20 years ago and can still hit the high notes by miming 50% and straining/struggling the other half she should adapt her songs. She could do acoustic versions or even just bring the songs down a few keys and sing them in a register that suits he 50 year old voice

So I guess at this point we could say that this nameless tour they called simply "Live 201X" is a whole big tour with different legs, extended throughout 3 years right?

 

I guess if we add all the songs she's been performing since 2016, 2017 and 2018, we could get a nice show with many different songs both in English and French (being the French leg more promising than the English leg )
