All these markets are dead and Celine pulls off numbers that make them come off as lively! One would think that if an album opens at #1 in France with 220k copies sold, then the sales of the album ranking at #2 would stand above the 100k mark. But that's not the case. Celine is the exception here, not the rule! The most impressive part of this era is that she brought these astronomical figures after being 36 years in the game. I always felt Encore Un Soir is an amazing album, but this success just makes it better!

I have this crazy idea stuck in my mind for the past couple weeks. I consider her latest tour just as an introduction to EUS. It was not a tour ABOUT the album. Even if it is released as CD/DVD very few songs of the album will be included. So my idea is that Celine returns to France for 1 concert only, to actually sing the album. A short concert that will be played on TV and then released in CD/DVD format. With no hosts, no interviews, no singers singing her songs. Just Celine and the audience.

It would be an amazing opportunity to sing those songs live in concert.

 

I wonder how she feels about her albums, you have those amazing songs, and you just sing them 1 time just for the album, but never ever again for the rest of your life.
