After the new single was announced, the Encore un soir single in France fell on the Radio chart from #19 to #60 :evil:

It also fell from #85 to #96 on the Streaming chart.

And on the Sales chart, the single fell from #5 to #12. It fell from the top ten after 21 weeks inside top ten! :)

The album sales including streaming in France is at 470,953 units (463,884 in pure sales and 7,069 in streaming).

One has to go back a few pages to see me insisting that no new single should have been released as long as EUS was a Top 10 hit. And now this proves I was right. It is her own team that took the single out of Top 10! I see no reason why this had to be done. Especially since the second single will typically be ignored by radios and fans alike (fans will most likely turn to the album at this point).

 

IMO, they should have let EUS decline before releasing a new single. Would the decline start in November? Maybe January? Fine by me! We would have witnessed such huge staying power that it would make up for the absense of a second single. EUS had all potential to carry this album for a long time!

 

And of course, the music video was needed. Not because of the huge impact it would have, but mostly because it would give the impression of a career that is handled in a way that is not careless. Bottom line, it is the public reception and the song itself which make this release worth to remember. Anything else about it has been a disappointment.

EUS spent 21 weeks inside top ten. Only Pour que tu m'aimes encore did better - 31 weeks :)

This whole thing(or the lack of thing) about EUS is absolutely unbelievable.

 

For now, it's "ok" but can you imagine in 10-20 years...when there will be a documentary or whatsoever telling Celine's career?

 

"2016 will be remembered as an important year for her and her career as it witnessed the loss of her husband followed by the release of EUS stating the end of a chapter, marking the reunion between Céline and JJG after more than a decade, a song that was totally embraced by the public".

 

And all this. ..without any image😨

 

There was no music video neither an official live recording.

 

It makes me so sad that one of the most beautiful songs she has ever recorded with such an important meaning for her and to all of us won't be immortalized by any kind of professional footage ( or 2 shitty playback ).

 

In 2016.

 

 

The ultimate and final proof that her team is completely unprofessional.

 

There've been many mistakes or missed opportunities but this is the deepest buls***.

This is not going to change, and Celine could be responsible too of this sad fact.... She doesn't want to proove anything anymore...and that's the problem. She could easily take the control of her career...she was not raised like this and René is probably responsible too.

Well she has the whole month of December and half of January off. Maybe she'll do another round of promo or a press junket and then enjoy the holidays with her family in Montreal. She really only needs to do a week in France and then a week in Quebec since she'll be in Montreal anyway for Christmas!

Encore Un Soir was the 17th best selling album (worldwide) this week with 22,000 copies.

 

Total sales: 676,000

It's sad how Celine is neglected by her label?

Sony assumes that Celine sells without any promotion so they simply don't promote her albuns and singles.

She sells it's a fact, so they keep making money. But fans don't listen to her songs at radio anymore neither watch her music videos anywhere.

It's a shame and I think Celine's team should realise that music videos, for instance, are an incredible way to present a song to major public but also a gift to all her fans.

 

In Portugal, "Encore Un Soir" had any promotion but reached #13 at the album charts. Now It completely vanished from cd stores.

You can't just blame Sony. She's partly to blame herself. If she wants the album to succeed in terms of sales she needs to do more promo and film more music videos.

Exactly.. We like to blame Sony and her team but she is still the boss, she gets the money, she owns the power, she couldve easily taken over the promotion, told them to get video for fans ready ASAP, prepare another one, start MENTIONing the album at least with one sentence in US talkshows (she did Ellen without saying anything FFS!) etc etc. Clearly she is not there/having another things to do.

Look, she is the bestseller, I cant believe Sony denies to pay for her videos if she really wants to and is interested,but shes been always like that, loves singing but dont care so much about other stuff around
