Encore Un Soir' by Celine Dion 5,000 / 963,000

 

Still on on the TOP 40 most selling albums of the week (worldwide). Maybe we'll get some more next week, with the "Beauty and a Beast premiere look buzz"

This week, Encore un soir album charts in France number 30 (-5)

 

Encore un soir single is number 70 (-38)

 

Sous le vent renters the single charts number 190

700k copies sold ONLY IN FRANCE (According to PureCharts, on March 22).

So how successful is the album compared to "Sans Attendre"?

To me this is Céline's most "musical" album besides D'eux and that includes English albums too. The melodies of the songs, the musical arrangements and her voice is just - as a friend of mine once put it when she was listening to Leonard Cohen - it just scrapes out your insides lol. But in a good way!! L'Etoile, Ma Faille, les yeux au Ciel, LA bonheur en face and a la plus haute branche are some of the best songs I've ever heard let along songs sung by Celine. It's a shame some people can't listen to her French music - my sister for instance- I know she would love these songs in English but she would never listen to them in French. Well I'm going to sneak them on the car stereo sometime and see if she notices!! By the way has Celine performed any of the songs from the new album live besides Encode En Soir?

To me this is Céline's most "musical" album besides D'eux and that includes English albums too. it mis my husband favorite until now. Because he was forced to listen to her when we were riding in the car... that one is the one he is the least againt. He really likes encore un soir, L'étoile, Ma faille , Tu sauras... My husband is really sensitive, much more than me , at least in the expression of it. He was crying at her show in montreal, she is her favorite now ,,, he is not afraid to show his emotions. I think i found the ideal man, he likes cooking, decoration, and now Celine. He is a gay man with a sexual inclination towards women. When my son was young , i was always saying to him , : you know it is ok if you love boys... :giggle: After hearing his efforts in the guest room , i don't think it is the case. But who knows, now that he is not here, maybe he nurtured other tastes.

During the Celine Live shows she performed Ordinaire and in Canada she also sang A la plus haute branche. I'm sure some new French songs will be performed this summer!

that's just it was happening in the middle of the night...you know young people coming back after an outing...anyway, it's over , he has his own place now , but bizarelly enough , no girlfriend anymore.

For the last two weeks in France

 

Encore un soir Single : 77 and 79

Encore un soir album: 33 and 33!

"L'etoile" fell of the Ultratip charts in Belgium and the Radio chart in France.

I guess we can say it's over.

Tommorow we'll get the Canadian AC chart, but I don't think we'll have a new peak for "Je nous veux".

 

I don't know if there's any sense with these promo releases? They don't make music videos, they don't promote them.

 

The tour in France will start in 3 months, so in July we'll see the album jumping on the chart but other than that the chart-run won't be impressive anymore.

 

There is another problem. Now SNEP publishes not only Sales+Streaming Albums Chart but also Sales+Streaming Singles Chart. So I guess, no more hits in France for Celine....

 

Example from this week: the album on sales is #33, on sales/streaming #49. And the single on sales is #79, on sales/streaming it's not even inside Top200.
