"Recovering" (written by Pink) - Official Topic

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Anyone knows who wrote Recovering? We all know it was Pink, but Pink with who?

Any official info?

And who produced it?

I've found info on Vevo that it was Gatica (only he is mentioned).

I want to add this info to Wikipedia, so it should be official info :)

can you change the picture of Celine in the wikipedia? :)

I wantetd to start a topic about that, because it needs to be a picture made by an author.

I can't just add any photo taken from internet.

I wanted you to share your photos here so we can choose the best one.

But I think mods did not approve that topic...

Its just seems to me like; ok, f..ck it, nobody cares about my french album ,just give it for free and lets focus on the english one?

But Why!? EUS had so much potential!

well hopefully Im wrong

Excuse me can't you see she's promoting the EUS??? Why are the fans today so difficult to please? If we have less new material they complain, if we have more they still complain... if we are surprised just like how we wanted, we still complain. Bang!!! Isn't this what we're all dying to have? Did we not get that surprise feeling and excitement finding out about the release today??? By the way, about the song.. it's just PERFECT the way it is. I am not complaining. For high belts I just wish to have it as a bonus, but as far as I'm concerned if she keep' this kind of tone to her voice on this songs then she can have another hit (not that she needed one). .So I think with this clear enunciation and no nasal and granny voice she's doing ok and this time it's better than LMBTL era!!! It's like the new mature Celine but still an attractive sound. Edited by CelineIloilo

Sorry, I wanted to love this song. But I don't. It's... ok. I love Celine and her voice sounds soft & lovely. I just expected more power, better production and the song is very short. I don't know why her team can't find her better, stronger material. She is frakking Celine Dion!

For what is worth

I've been listening to the song on a loop since 10 hours now,,

And I fell in love more and more every single time

I'm a stan,,, I fell in love with Celine because of these songs,,, I don't give a damn about the charts, if the entire album is like this it would be a dream come true

Celine is was and forever will be a ballad singer,,, she should never change that

And if Adele proved anything is that u can have an all ballads album and still be very successful

This is one of the Celine's song that never bore me to death no matter hoe many times I listen to it. I don't get tired of it. And her voice here is Epic.

I think that they need to release this as a physical single. it is evident that celine sells more hard copies than downloads. What do you guys think.

I like the song , having listened to it multiple times now, but as I already said the chordscheme is quite simple and familiar to me and somehow I expected more. It is just a nice piano ballad with Celine singing very good, as always, but it does not have the wow factor imo. Encore un soir is a way more interesting melody, that is really a masterpiece in my opinion. So I get where you're coming from;-)

Exactly the same thoughts. Not a bad song. But the wow-factor is missing.

I'm not very impressed with this song. It's actually a little too melodramatic for me.

Btw I know the picture I posted wouldn't be appropriate for this release but if they had to have a smile free photo they could have chosen a much better one!

the font looks better but the picture is not, esspecially since you placed it in the middle and the smile does not work for this song at all

i agree , not all pictures that Alex Maika took work for every albumcover. Would have been nice if I a better picture was taken that suits this song

Even if someone says here that this song lacks wow factor. I like her voice here it's full, not auto tuned (not over produced) unlike her previous albums SA, LMBTL and some of the songs in EUS

I agree that packaging is also important. It's just not as important in a climate where the majority of people are buying music online. It doesn't have the same significance as it used to.

The current font they've been consistently using since 2011 is rather nice and modern. The photo shoot for LMBTL fit very well for the album and the font looked great on it. Originally those photos were supposed to be for "Sans Attendre" where honestly, it would not have fit at all.

I bring up the classic logo, because it was consistently used for years and looked nice and nobody complained. The font they're using now is also nice and not dated and looks great...which is why I don't understand why everyone is complaining.

Exactly, packaging is important. Very important I would say, if they still want to sell physical copies of music albums today. And when you are in the music store, the cover of an album is the first glimpse you get of the new release on display. It is important to design a cover that catches the attention of the buyer, and that includes everything: the pictures chosen, the font, the place where you put each element on the cover etc.

The font used in LMBTL was modern yes, and it may still be modern, but as you said, this comes from 3 years ago already, and it has been used for that album initially. Why they should keep using it, 3 years later? Aren't there more modern fonts in 2016? That's where I go when I say all the time that they lack creativity and originallity. It's like they are a bunch of completely lazy people who are unable to spend 5 minutes and take a look on a font database online and get a new one :)

So it's not a matter about if it's dated or not. It's just that they have already used it for one project, and when you release a new album, a new single, 3 years later, you're supposed to come up with something new, in every aspect right? No need to repeat the same thing you did 3 years ago. Been there, done that, you know? There are millions of fonts out there to chose from :)

Nobody complained about the classic logo because it was simply outstanding. Like I said, it was like Céline's signature. Céline and that logo were the same thing for years, and people surely liked that. Moreover, that logo was her trade mark. I never understood why they stopped using it. If it ain't broken, don't fix it, they say ^_^

I know you'll problaby say then that the 2013 font wasn't broken. Well, that LMBTL album was a fiasco almost everywhere, so there's no need to keep using a font that reminds us of that fiasco album :) Just turn the page and move on, there are millions of fonts to use ;)

just a fast photoshopped cover, but this is what i had in mind (okay yes I took clouds again, but hey it works) and suits better imo-

As Javito said, a package is just as important, esspecially for physical buying in the stores.

probably that not everyone is an architect? :giggle:

You silly goose :mdr: :mdr: :mdr: :mdr: :mdr:

So glad it's on Spotify now and can't wait to get the physical single once it releases here in Germany. I'm absolutely in love with this and it resonates to me very well personally at my current state of affairs. This couldn't have come out in a better time for me. Thank you, Pink and thank you, Celine for not going over-the-top with this gem.

So are they actually releasing this single in physical? :o

I like the cover! There's something about that picture and the fact that she doesn't smile...it goes with the song...i think its a good choice!

I feel like I'm the only one who likes the cover photo. For me, it shows her looking a little uncertain, but the same expression shows that she's hopeful for the future, and thus "recovering". Maybe I'm thinking way way too much into this... But is it wrong that I actually like it?

Now you're helping me to sell me the song. I like your interpretation of the picture! Yes, I feel relieved that she's not smiling in this picture for a change, after all the series of same-smiling Celine we got with dear Alix Malka!

Though it's not the best picture of her, I like your vision behind it. I can see the connection behind the picture and the song now. Her smile was broken, and she probably doesn't feel like smiling here, but she's gaining strength and "recovering" to do it at the end of the tunnel.

And the song is growing on me after 8-10 listenings last night. Thanks :flowers:

I just listened to the song... And I'm crying a little. It's rare that a song will make me cry, but just wow. "Tell him that I love him"...' it's an amazing song, wow. I can't quit. This is what an English repoirtoire has been needing, a very emotionally deep and rich song. Her vocals are so beautiful. I am in love with this song :wub2:
