She just cracked the iTunes top 200 in the USA at #199 (without any promo or even visible ad ; you literally had to go looking for it )--Gaga was everywhere.

 

She's #33 in Canada.

 

Hopefully after the performance tonight and next week on Ellen she'll crack top 40

It is slowly moving up, Currently at 191 (+7 places in the last hour) It is slow, but like you said, no promo... Also, she is not trending in twitter but she is getting some mentions at least. Lots of positivity (not necessarily reviews though). Can't wait until tonight

I agree, and the youtube videos need to be posted right away, because it racked up like 50-60k views on vimeo before even entering youtube... combined it could be 80k (or even more) by now.

I think Celine's enunciation is a bit loose because it fits the mood of the song, but to say that "I am a recovering anxiety addict" and "I am a recovering constant regretter" makes more sense, at least to me. Personally, I can clearly hear a "t" sound, not a "d" sound at the end of "addict." I think what sounds like "a" at the beginning of "constant regretter" might just be the sound of her inhaling.

 

Though, I guess we won't know for sure until we get official lyrics, so at this point we can all hear whichever lyrics make sense to us.

I almost wonder if it is meant to be a reference to her "previous self," from before she was recovering from these things. Later in the song she refers to the "old me." I don't know, just a thought.

Literally as I saw and clicked this notification, I was hearing exactly what you hear lol. I stand corrected. The rhythm of the lyric was throwing me off. But this is absolutely the correct lyric.

To me it sounds like this song was written about someone who is recovering from an addiction of some kind.

 

The part about forgiving her made me think the song was suggesting that her bloke had cheated on her with someone else and that was what she was recovering from. Maybe the song was given to Celine, and not actually written for her. Lyrically it doesn't quite fully work. That's not to say that I don't like it though.

I wish I could like this song... I think I need to see her perform it without lip syncing it, to see/feel it more and although we know what it is about, as some have said, some parts of it need explaining/clarifying a bit more to fully understand/appreciate it maybe, which is why I can't appreciate it yet. Haha i fell asleep listening to Recovering on repeat last night... Result: i dreamed of Celine. She stayed at my house with the kids. And after putting them to sleep i asked her if she was hungry for aaany thing? And she responded: "a bagel with strawberry cream cheese would be amazing!" So i went to grocery to get it. Then i woke up. Was great! lol

 

Maybe it was a premonition about the strawberry, chocolate, cheese, and nut song. Probably they've been holding that masterpiece, and it'll be in the next album

Yes I hear that also the, 'I am A ' to me I'm thinking she is saying, yes, I am these things. Because we know she's a perfectionist and being on stage gives her anxious moments but she can't stop performing. I don't know, just my thinking of it.

The only thing I would have made her do is clear up the "off" instead of "of" in the devil line.
