Even being #1 actually , digital sales have become very low. It's all about streaming now. For example, last J.Lo single was top 10 in in digital sales but only top 90 in BBHOT100. That give us a clear picture of the future for Céline single-wise at least. Beside some kind of miracle, she'll never make the BBHOT100 again. She's nowhere in sales, streaming and airplay. 3 Quote

CelineDionFreak Posted September 13, 2016 at 10:43 AM Posted September 13, 2016 at 10:43 AM Not every song is meant to be a #1. What's the most important thing is that Céline loves this song. This is a cry from her heart. I don't care where it is on the charts. We have the song and I for one love it. Javito Posted September 13, 2016 at 11:07 AM Posted September 13, 2016 at 11:07 AM (edited) Why release it then? Why not release it? The song was already recorded so... Honestly I think they just wanted to capitalise on her SU2C performance. She was premiering the song there and surely *some* people would look for the song later, so it only makes sense to release it, since the song it's clearly not single material and it won't go anywhere beyond those performances in SU2C and Ellen sorry Edited September 13, 2016 at 11:10 AM by Javito 1 Quote "Hush, now... Honestly, my personal feeling about this is that it's just not the kind of Celine song they want to promote now. I want to believe they are warming up the engines to release an explosive single like was IDAN in 2003 or something similar for her comeback in 2017. But Recovering... how many times has Céline sang a song like this before, this kind of slow ballad? She's done that a thousand times already, I think they want to offer something different now. I want to believe that, at least... Edited September 13, 2016 at 11:16 AM by Javito 4 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

Javito Posted September 13, 2016 at 11:39 AM Posted September 13, 2016 at 11:39 AM (edited) True, but also anyone hoping that this song would be welcomed, downloaded and streamed like crazy and reaching the #1 everywhere as if it was the next best thing she's ever done is just being *a little* naïve . The best thing this song has offered is this two remarkable TV performances where Céline appeared with two new stunning looks and red outfits, and showed again her classy and elegant attitude. I'm happy for that, and for the song too Edited September 13, 2016 at 11:41 AM by Javito 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
Shaun Posted September 13, 2016 at 11:39 AM Posted September 13, 2016 at 11:39 AM Regardless if it was intended to be a single in the US or not it's now perfectly clear that whatever Celine releases there it won't have any impact there at all. Even AC radio have abandoned her. Fresh new material by "current" song writers? Ignored! Duets with "current" artists? Ignored! Covers? Ignored! They've literally tried everything there since ANDHC and really nothing has worked. Her singles career and singles chart impact there is over. Such a shame. 7 Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.

Sometimes their marketing skills are great, other times they're absolutely rubbish.why do UK people like to use this term 'rubbish' to describe things. Do you know what rubbish means to Americans. It means waste or garbage, it's a physical thing. Not an adjective. This annoys me so much to hear the word being used in such a wrong way. The first time I heard someone use this word wrongly I couldn't understand what they meant. Do you know how weird it sounds to the Westernized ear. 1 Quote https://media.giphy....zviuO/giphy.gif

Javito Posted September 13, 2016 at 11:49 AM Posted September 13, 2016 at 11:49 AM (edited) She still has to release that consistent, coherent English album from track 1 to the last one, with a defined sound and reduced team of producers and songwriters. When that album arrives, I'm sure she will get back the attention she deserves. She needs to stop releasing that kind of jumble, mishmash albums full of producers and songwriters of all sorts and worlds, all put together like in a blender, press the button and "let's see what we get", like happened with LMBTL. She still can do many album projects such as the jazz album and the dance album and gather some eyes and ears here and there, but as long as she doesn't go to the full with it, it will be in vain. She still can record that Spanish album and leave all the Spanish-speaking audience (which is huge, mind to say) with their mouth open and jaw-dropping. LMBTL (song) was a great song, if only that album had kept that style line through all of it. But the fresh attempt ended with track 2 and including those bunch of random covers and nosense songs next to Sia's composition killed all credibility to that gentle attempt of her to sound relevant and fresh again. There are still many things she can do to get the attention of radios. But she stays always halfway when she gives the first step, that's the problem. She's always giving one step forward and two backwards What I'm saying with all this, is that there's only so many albums that an artist with such a vast career like Celine can do, always keeping this pattern of English album/French album/English album/French album... for more than 30 years already. She needs to break that routine and release something different, a different project. And I think it's time for her to release another concept album soon. Call it the jazz album, the dance album, the Spanish album... whatever. But I think the old formula of her habitual albums and the way they are crafted is worn out now Let's hope this will change soon, though! Shaun Posted September 13, 2016 at 11:53 AM Posted September 13, 2016 at 11:53 AM Until they stop chasing the "hit single" this will never happen. They need to stop trying for the big chart impact and like you say focus on a coherent album that listeners actually want to listen to and love about Celine. Songs such as Taking Chances or LMBTL are fine at the time but don't stand the test of time and are quickly forgotten. Stop chasing the hit single and focus on quality material! 5 Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.
