I like both versions, but I still like the "classic" version. I will say that this YouTube video is pretty cool, and the bridge accompaniment is really cool, especially when the strings come in. Great choice to have the accompaniment go silent toward the end of the bridge, and we just hear her.

 

The heartbeat at the end, well, why not, it was an interesting choice. :wub: It is quite ambitious of this person to place this version onto YouTube. Nicely done! :clap:

I don't really like this remix at all . . .it sounds like they slowed it down or something, and the super-electronic backing just doesn't work at all for me. Celine released this as a simple piano-and-voice ballad, and (to me) it's perfect like that.

'Recovering' isn't exactly a favorite of mine. I don't like it but I don't hate it either. It's just 'there.' It's too simple and generic. But I get its a special song for Celine so who am I to dismiss it entirely?

 

As for the Grammy's - neither TSMGO nor Recovering won't be nominated. They went and gone just like that. Nowadays, with the Male and Female vocal categories combined, the song must have been major hits to be even considered. That's why the younger acts dominate this category. Unfortunately I don't expect Celine to be even nominated for anything for her songs ever again in the future. But I suspect she'll do well at the Grammy's with her albums in the future though - even if its for Traditional Pop Album.

this is my mix, nothing compare with the quality of the other one here, but my idea came when i was working on a original song and I start singing the song, then i mix up with Celine song

is done on youtube

it is just a poor and simple mix, maybe if i had a chance to finish in studio would sound better, but i did all on my old notebook :innocent:

Good point phoebekins. It is very ambitious to produce something like that. It proves that Celine can sound great in electro synth pop. It's definitely something fresh. It's called alternative for a reason.

 

And I totally understand people who don't like it as the original was meant to be simple the way it is :yes:

 

I find it really fascinating that we all like different kind of songs and styles. That's the beauty of it.. But no wonder we get albums that are not coherent enough. They read our forum and they make sure every single one of us is pleased :giggle:

So far, yes.

We'll get other charts this week.

It has a chance to chart in Canada (at least on the Digital chart), Quebec (on the Digital chart) and US (on the Pop Digital Songs).

Maybe also Ultratip in Belgium Wallonia...

Recovering is more heartfelt and real than anything in LMBTL. Enough said.

 

I wish she includes it in her upcoming album... which will hopefully feature similar songs. I have had enough of old covers and cheesy family songs.

And weirdly, "Recovering" did not enter the Canadian Hot 100 :(

So, streaming killed it.

"The Show Must Go On" entered the Digital chart at #23 and Canadian Hot 100 at #89.

I have to say, much as I admire the alternative version, the more I've listened to the classic piano version, I must admit that's my favorite when all is said and done. I adore piano, so that makes sense I'd be into it! :-D

The song is stunning.

 

I hope it gains a bigger audience but at the end of the day I'm just happy to have it.

OH WOW! I lurve it! :wub2: I think this is an amazing alternative version. With a bit of tweaking, it could even be better than the original version :giggle:
