"Encore Un Soir" album - Official Topic

Given that I have NO idea how the record industry works, I am genuinely interested to know why is there a need to release a second single since the full album has now been released? I know it's an incredibly naive question And I hope you forgive me for asking it but I would really love to know. Is this for people who are still reluctant to buy the entire album? Or is it for marketing purposes and more radio AirPlay?

Many thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to explain!

Singles do help push album sales. Releasing a second and third single keeps the fact that an album was released fresh in the public's mind.

I think I've found the hidden gem of this album: Toutes ces choses. The intro is haunting and sweet. So full of emotions and memories.

So far the best tracks are Toutes ces choses, Ma Force and Je nous veux. L'etoile is better than Les yeux au ciel. Tu sauras is too much...should be an extra track, though I like its heavy beat. A little bit disappointed by si c'etait a refaire, lovely voice and some high notes but nothing special.

For Sony EUS is a product that needs to be advertised.

Releasing the second or third single is a great way of extending the album's charts run and reaching new potential buyers. In a nutshell, it's all about money. :)

LOL

A vous is a royal nightmare!

"À vous" makes me sooo HAPPY!

She's thanking her fans. And i'm like: " YOU'RE WELCOME CELINE!!"

i find it is less cheesy than Je ne vous oublie pas, and the context is really different. Je ne vous oublie pas was in a period she needed to reconnect to the fans, she was alone in the states but by her own choices. Now , she thanks them for the support, not the same at all

I agree. Its a great ballade. The piano intro makes me think of TYLAM and the rest of the Bicentennial Man soundtrack. Sounds like a James Horner composition.

Late responding, but I adore this album.

Two stand outs for me already are:

"L'etoile" and TU Sauras. Also love Love love Ma Faille and Les jeux au Ciel

For me, those are screaming to be singles.

Yes it's amazing in the car!!

I know you all have your rituals when it comes to listening to a new Celine Album.... Mine is to go on a long drive at night and just soak it all in..... It's safe to say I was driving much faster listening to this album... I will treasure the memory of listening to this album for the first time..... I instantly loved this album...

Kev x

Have to agree there! That's the ritual I have with all new Celine albums. Don't have chance to listen at home and makes it easier as I work around the UK so spend a lot of time in the car :-) you get to have the volume as loud as you want, and no disturbances!!

I've listened to a couple of the songs where I've had chance - I'm back at work tomorrow and soooooo cannot wait to listen to the album all the way through :-)

The ending of Toutes Ces Choses gives me chills every time... When she says "chest ta voix dans la nuit qui murmure je t'aime" I imagine Céline in her bed at night, imagining René telling her that she loves her...

I thought the album was gonna be about Rene. Slow songs, a mourning type of album. I was looking forward to a good cry with memories of Celine and Rene. Even her photos showing sexy leg etc. :w00t: It's a bit too soon for this. This album has me disappointed.

I like the pic with Rene on the back.

Tweet her and tell her you thought the album was called "Death and cancer.".

Jesus.

Did you read what the red heads posted about a Journalist and how disgusting she is for being highly offensive about Celine's New Album? (She even called it "crap") Can someone summerize it, since its all in French?

I completely disagree.

She's been very clear that this is a happy album even though she recorded it when she went through the worst part of her life. And personally I think if you're gonna look at this album as a tribute it should be a happy one. Do you really think Rene would want Celine to continue her career crying over losing her husband? Probably not. If anything, this is the perfect tribute to him. A happy one. And it's much more powerful that way.

I think Celine sound wounded and goes total breakdown with her emotions on this album. In a good way. A perfect way.

Basically the journalist has a habit of bashing everything Celine Dion and yesterday posted a very bad review of EUS saying that the album came when we least need it, a few months after Rene's passing. She calls the title song a "necrology"!!!!

Anyway, the RH go on to say that they Googled the journalist's name and they learned that she was recently slapped with a libel suit by Pierre Perret which he won of course. Then, they (the RH) discovered that this the journalist ended up with a career in journalism not by choice but because she failed at being an author "She wanted to write books, you see, but not having any talent, she has resolved in choosing to be a music critic and (writing?) artists' biographies. How lucky we are".

Then, they also discovered that the journalist was for many years Giuseppe Mustacchi's (Georges Moustaki's) lover who she met when she was 19 and he was 33 years her senior and 6 months after his death, she published a book called "Life with Moustaki", going from media outlet to media outlet to promote the book!!! (which obviously is the exact same thing she is accusing Celine of doing lol!).

They finish their post by saying "You are right Madame Delassein, "death is good sometimes" !!

Honestly, I found their post quite amusing to be honest because I NEVER understood the point of having critics (movie, music, whatever...).

Anyway, I hope this helps and if anyone finds any mistakes in the translation please by all means point them out, I wouldn't want to misquote anything lol!!

Sorry to be this harsh, but: So you are disappointed because you can't be an onlooker or spectator of someone else's loss and pain? While I find that alone a bit strange to be honest you may also not have understood the place Celine is in right now. The way she way in Paris, New York and now in Montreal suggests she wants to enjoy life. The album talks about loss but also about life and happiness and reasons to go on living. In that way I think it is quite genuine!

my thoughts exactly! Tu Sauras should be a smashing summer single with a hot, up-to-date video

Lol!! Maybe they should release the one out already for EUS!!! :sofunny: :sofunny:
I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

Ma Force was written by Vianney-... the guy who sings "mais t´es où? pas la!"

BTW I think there are chances this becomes her highest charting french album ever on the WW Chart... since she doesn't have much international competition at this time of the year. I really hope she sells more than Britney in an international level. We'll see!

I can see how the hype about the new album has slowed down only after 24 hours here... What are you all doing, listening to the album like crazy? Or the momentum it's just gone already :confused1: Edited by Javito
