Angel2006 Posted August 27, 2016 at 05:30 AM Posted August 27, 2016 at 05:30 AM I think you should be able to order off of the US site. Many of us in the US have ordered the deluxe edition from Amazon.ca, so it should work vice versa. And yes, the standard edition costs $11.98. Sorry to bother you again with another question, but I noticed the site offers different prices underneath the standard price of $11.98. It says $8.60 new (2 offers) and $8.60 used (1 offer) If I chose the cheaper options of $8.60 for the new or used one, do you know if that will change the CD casing or will I still end of with the same jewel case version? Sorry for all the questions. I would just prefer to pay less for the same thing, but I don't know if that will change my order outcome, because the only reason I'm ordering off of amazon is to get that precious jewel case. LOL. 1 Quote

In the item description, it does say that the physical CD is exclusive released in the US through Amazon. So there is the chance that the cheaper option might be an import since it's not sold by Amazon. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dQ1vYVz.jpgMais qui peut dire, qu’il peut vivre sans amour, qui?

rhapsodion Posted August 27, 2016 at 05:47 AM Posted August 27, 2016 at 05:47 AM Just finished listening to the album once! I love it!!! I think I like it even more than SA. So far the highlights for me are :Ma faille Encore un soir Je nous veux Ordinaire A la plus haute branche. I really like the vocal in A la plus haute branche. I was already touched by the melody in the first place, now understanding the lyrics makes it even more touching. I just have a very good friend of mine that has been diagnosed with cancer and the doctor told her today that the chances of curing is zero. Now listening to this song and reading the lyrics....I could so relate to it.... Sigh...sad. 5 Quote
Popular Post LVCeline Posted August 27, 2016 at 05:51 AM Popular Post Posted August 27, 2016 at 05:51 AM Ok, so I've listened to the album several times since it came out last night and have to say that for me, it's brilliant. Every song, except for one, is wonderful. It's very cohesive and flows very nicely. I was worried after reading some fairly harsh comments on here, but thankfully I do not share any of those views. Plus qu'ailleurs - this is the one song I could do without out, though I do admit it fits overall on the album. She is extremely throaty while singing anything that ends in an "ore" sound, and it ruins the song for me. Other than that, it just isn't a very pleasant sounding song, and I was surprised to see several people love it, but I'm glad. L'etoile - love this one! The chorus is great with her voice being layered, the sped-up guitar strumming, strings, and clapping. Several songs on this album could fit well on 1F4T. Ma faille - this one has gotten a lot of attention! Definitely a great song. I have no clue who Zaho is so I don't have a pre-conceived idea of what the song should or does sound like. Her pronunciation is a little different in parts (mon amyeewww) than I'm used to, but not in a bad way. I love the guitar in this one too. Encore un soir - an obvious classic and you can tell this song has that special JJG touch. I love that it starts mellow and builds more as the song progresses. I dont have any issues as far as the radio vs album version. Je nous veux - another 1F4T sounding song, it's beautiful and she sounds gorgeous. Reminds me a little of Rien n'est vraiment fini in certain ways. Les yeux au ciel - for sure a standout on the album and amazing song in every way. The chorus is so perfect the way her voice is layered again with herself singing a low octave over a high one. I could see this being a single, it seems very radio friendly. I love it! Si c'etait a refaire - I love the way she sounds in this song, she goes pretty high at times. I like the falsetto/head voice she uses in the chorus, then in the 2nd and third chorus repeats she belts higher than the previous time, if that makes any sense. Her vocals kind of escalate. Ordinaire - I loved this song from the first live performance and despite some criticism I've read here, the studio version is amazing. Nothing like the disaster that TSMGO was. Her voice is more prominent because with this kind of arrangement (so many instruments) she would get drowned out, so I think they had to turn it down a bit. It's dramatic and I think she sounds fantastic. It's really one of the best arranged songs she's ever done, the musicians are incredible. The violins and guitar elevate it to a whole other level most songs can't reach. Tu sauras - another standout, it's absolutely incredible. People have been saying her voice is vocoded or altered or something throughout this album, and I think the chorus might be an example of what they're talking about, but I absolutely love what they did. I think it sounds super modern and very radio friendly. I love her phrasing and the way she pronounces the sounds like "suis" (hard to explain). For sure one of the best on the album, no doubt. Toutes ces choses - a stunning song, I adore the piano and her vocals are perfection. Maybe the most ballad sounding song on the album. It's soft and simple, but not boring at all. An example of how I'd love her tone to sound all the time. She gets very breathy at times and absolutely exudes emotion, and the final words she utters "quand meme" make me melt into a puddle of goo. Le bonheur en face - there are several songs that have a kind of Irish sound to them. Someone else put it best, its very "Mumford and sons" sounding. Heavy strumming of guitars, a clapping sound in the background, layered vocals, and maybe a tin whistle too. That's what this one sounds like. I love it. A plus haute branche - honestly, for me, this is one of the best songs she's recorded in her 36 year career. Absolutely everything about it kills me. The lyrics of course (via translation since I don't speak French), the gorgeous piano, her vocals are light and sweet and breathy, the simplicity of it, it's just breathtaking in every way for me. If you listen closely at the very beginning you can hear wind blowing and crickets chirping, I love how that sets the atmosphere for the song. Who would have ever pictured a whistle in a celine song?! I doubt it's her, but it's brilliant. It's just so soothing, but devastating at the same time. A total gem of a celine song. I couldn't be more in love with it. A Vous - there have been some very harsh words about this one, but honestly, I struggle to think of a better uptempo French song she's done. I love everything about it, she sounds so young and fresh, the trumpets are fantastic in the chorus, I just can't believe how much I like it. I love the digital sound as well, almost techno sounding. Ma force - a great song to close out the album, it's fairly simple, but it's lovely. Not a standout, but still a very nice song I had no issues listening to. Her vocals are great towards the end of the song when she starts belting high (the word force), then brings it down a little, then down a little more all in the same note, if that makes sense. Trois heures vingt - this has always been one of my favorite older songs, and it has a special meaning after seeing Rene's funeral. I'll always remember the moment they started the song and the family walking behind the casket. It's lovely and though I would LOVE a re-recorded version, the song is still a favorite of mine. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the album. It's so strange we didn't get previews before the release, but in a way, it might have actually made my experience hearing it the first time even more special. It is definitely different than any of her previous French albums, and for me, it's absolutely fine. I love that it sounds more modern than her previous records. There are no duets with old men, no songs that sounds dated (I'm looking at you une chance qu'on s'a and tant de temps), the arrangement is very upbeat for the most part. It sounds like a fresh new start, and not a mourning album like I was kind of expecting. I'm glad it's not sad. I absolutely adore the direction she's taken the last year or so and so on forward to everything to come! I'm so thankful I have the pleasure of hearing her sing and sound as amazing as she still does after all these years! 13 Quote

Javito Posted August 27, 2016 at 06:43 AM Posted August 27, 2016 at 06:43 AM i really love that song, i feel calm , content, in the moment listening to it. I'm just happy every second of the song, never wishing to hear the past ten seconds or the next, just the moment. And it touches me. Sounds good to me. Any song comparison? Sounds like Retiens-moi, or Tu nages? Peaceful songs to me That sucks. I don't know why they can't make the jewel case available to everyone. I love the look of the jewel case version so much more. I don't know why Celine's team have to randomly sell certain CD's as a digipack with the paper sleeve. I can see them releasing it that way for the Deluxe version, because they have to design it a certain way to fit the extra stuff, but why do they have to cheapen the look of the Standard version. It's so annoying. Edit: OMG. I'm not sure, but I think I can order it off of Amazon.com. I didn't think it would let me because I am Canadian. The site asked if I wanted to be redirected to Amazon.ca or I would have to pay duties, but it gave me the option to stay on Amazon.com. I don't know much about ordering online, but do you think it would let my order the CD from Amazon.com, even though I'm Canadian? Also, did you pay $11.98 for your CD? That's the price I see listed on Amazon.com I'm nervous of ordering the wrong one. Yes, it's the $11.98 one. I also ordered a copy yesterday!I agree. For SA, I love the jewel case more than the deluxe digipack. Considering the exact same digipack already comes inside the deluxe edition box, I don't know why they didn't make the standard version a jewel case worldwide. The jewel case is just so classic. It's called l-a-z-i-n-e-s-s. And an absolute lack of creativity, when they have the chance to do alternate covers and packaging releasing 2 different editions, and they do exactly the same thing with them Janet Jackson's last album had 2 different editions and then 2 different covers, also latest album of Ariadna Grande... Javito Posted August 27, 2016 at 06:59 AM Posted August 27, 2016 at 06:59 AM This review! Loved every bit of it. I'm not sure if I will be able to make it until I get my CD next week. The waiting is unbearable now, reading all these exciting comments! Some things that got my attention and that I just ADORE by now: 1) The clapping thing on the song(s). Wow, that's something new in Céline's music 2) That you also say that several songs can fit in the 1f&4t album. Not just one (which would be already good) but several 3) That Je nous veux sounds to you like Rien n'est vraiment fini! I absobloodylutely LOVED that song since the first time I listened to it, and still love it the same way today! :in_love: 4) The layering thing of her voice with different octaves in another song 5) Le bonheur en face: again the clapping thing and the Irish vibe (!!!) :whee: 6) Your description of Ma force And of course, all in all most of you seem to agree it's a very different French album because it sounds so modern, fresh and uptempo. Well, it was about time to have an album like this then! Ok, so I've listened to the album several times since it came out last night and have to say that for me, it's brilliant. smw Posted August 27, 2016 at 08:55 AM Posted August 27, 2016 at 08:55 AM Really pleased with Encore Un Soir. Even though we kept hearing that this album would not be sad -- I still didn't think it was going to be quite so uplifting. It truly does feel like Celine is making a clear statement to us all that she plans to continue on. She doesn't plan on dwelling/lingering in sadness. This new album feels "alive". 7 Quote

marc-02 Posted August 27, 2016 at 09:16 AM Posted August 27, 2016 at 09:16 AM My faves (except of course for EUS) are: The 3 Zaho songs (Tu Sauras, Ma Faille, A Vous). And I agree with someone here who said they sound like Eurovision songs. I don't know who Zaho is, but does she write for the Eurovision? Les Yeux Au Ciel Toutes Ces Choses - sounds like A Cause (slow version) A La Plus Haute Branche Ma Force - just hearing elise dawn and barnev's voices instantly sells the song to me. ===== Note: Plus qu'ailleurs - the first few guitar sounds reminded me of Adele's Send My Love... For a second I thought Celine was also gonna say "Just the guitar, okay" haha anyway, im not impressed with the song. I think they should have opened the album with a much much stronger track. Quote
Alice Posted August 27, 2016 at 09:16 AM Posted August 27, 2016 at 09:16 AM In conclusion, the greater involvement of Celine in the making of the album really served it well, hasn't it? 3 Quote

flutefreak Posted August 27, 2016 at 09:42 AM Posted August 27, 2016 at 09:42 AM I am blown away that Celine had managed to make an album like this during what has been most probably the hardest time of her life. I mean she is incredible beyond words. I remember thinking this time last year when she announced she was starting to work on a new album that she didn't need that on her plate at the time. But she has channeled all of her emotions the happy, sad and everything in between and really sent us a message that life moves on. I'm so proud of our girl! 5 Quote
