Everything has been said about "promotion" but it's about really respecting

your own work, your own fanbase, and she does have to take care and pull out materials

that do just that. If she went and decided to go on with her career, sorry one can't hold

the stick from both side and just ignore her own fanbase time and time again.

 

It's nice I can keep watch over what Mariah does and keep dreaming Celine

will take seriously enough her career and fanbase. It's overwhelming to see

how Mariah treating her fanbase, I left with no words.

Yes, she makes money with Touring/Vegas shows right now.

But what is in 5 or 10 years.

She must be more creative with her live shows. She can't do the same GH/Vegas shows forever.

And what about the Courage Tour next year? What if they will not find a vaccine in the next months?

I hope Celine takes her time off to make future plans.

I’m sure they will change their style in the future.. and I don’t think people will get tired of her shows since she gives a great shows.

 

She already did A New Day which changes the entertainment shows since early 2000s

 

People already marked Céline’s shows to be the best. No wonder she can still sold out shows. That’s why I am thankful that A New Day did happened.

I’m sure she doesn’t have cash flow problems, so why she’s getting her stylist, hairdresser and x dancer to handle her social media is beyond me and is obviously not working as they do not have a scooby do about marketing/exposure or the fans and is embarrassing obvious.

 

She also needs a manager as we have said time and time again on here.

 

This all comes down to experience/strengths and a clear plan from trained people who know what they are doing.

 

As the saying goes, “you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear“, or as I like to say... “you can’t polish a turd!“

Amen! Mariah can’t sell out her concerts either so she’s got to do more work to keep her fans interested. Celine’s fans don’t need all the social media stuff to remain fans and buy tickets to her shows.

They like losing every other special opportunity, that woman could do

You forgot 'when announcing the world tour with an video and a live event WHO decided not to open with Flying On My Own, as being heard in the video.

 

Who decided it was better to sing Ashes a year later live on Jimmy Kimmel instead of Flying On My Own, while promoting your tour and announcing your new music.

Whoever is in charge of Celine at Sony needs to seriously consider their position.

 

We can blame a lack of manager but let''s not pretend that all was well when Rene was in charge. Sony still had no idea what to do or how to market her back then. And nothing has changed. Remember the cheapo LMBTL video from the Quebec concert cos they wouldn't pay for a "proper" music video? Remember how the second single "Incredible" got a music video a full 6 months after Celine and Ne-Yo performed it on The Voice? Who is deciding this stuff?

 

We randomly get music videos then we randomly get nothing. Do we even need to talk about the EUS music video farce? Celine's most important and emotive French album in a long time. We know they filmed footage for a video. Somehow it never gets released. We get 2 music videos for the "Courage" album but not for the one song they apparently believed in, took time and spent money on filming a video for! (Lying Down) Even if the song bombed what is the harm in releasing it? Seriously what's the big deal to release it? Who is deciding this stuff?

 

We get literally zero promotion beyond release week for an album that the world waited 6 years for. Even if Celine were sick, one day she's not going to be here at all, and you can bet they'll find a way to market her unreleased / from the vaults material then! Who is deciding this stuff?

 

DVD's and BluRay may not sell the way they used to, but when when it's something special people do still buy them. Where's the release for Celine's 2nd Vegas residency? Sell it on iTunes, put it on her YouTube channel for free or make a deal with Netflix or whatever. BST Hyde Park? An undoubted highlight of Celine's career. She enjoyed it so much she booked to do more festivals during the "Courage World Tour." We know it was professionally filmed. More than a year has passed and nothing. We ain't getting that show either. How about uploading some live tracks from the show to iTunes or Spotify? Nope. Why? It's only Celine Dion, let's not bother!

 

Celine may well be a "touring artist" now. She seems happy with that. She may well be a legacy artist in the record companies eyes. She may well, according to some, have no interest in her own music. Surely though, the one job of the "team" at the record company is to promote the music and get it out there? Somebody at Sony is deciding "let's not bother" with Celine. Who is it?

 

Every other major artist - legacy or not - has their record company all over their new (and older!) material. Singles, music videos, promotion, online adverts, rare material, box sets, special editions, re-releases, DVD's, documentaries, Netflix deals etc. I am most certainly not aiming any of this at Celine herself, she's worked her #ss off her whole life. She deserves a team who has a clue to do the work for her!

 

Sony though? Celine even visited their headquarters last year in person to thank them all. It feels to me though like they're laughing at her!

However this is where the "team" and the record label need to be providing direction and support. "Hey, we've got a high profile tour launch and high profile television appearance booked for you so this would be the ideal opportunity to perform the new single." But Jimmy Kimmel was nowhere near neither the album launch nor the beginning of the tour. JK was in April, the tour in September and the album in November. FOMO wasn’t even released until June. She was still in Vegas - THAT’S what they were selling on JK.

So, Mariah is good at promoting herself on social media. So what, does she sell more than Celine? No.

Does she sell out her (small) tours? No. Sony knows that Celine sells to her fan base and they won't lose money regardless. She has sold around 650k copies of Courage without much promo - and that's more than Mariah's last album. And if they had spent time and money on promo, Courage might have sold 700k. Is it really worth it in Sony's eyes? Do the math.

 

Every now and then I go to Mariah's forum just to read what they have to say about Celine (I know:D) and even they didn't have to think twice to realize how Celine doesn't do anything to promote and be passionate about her own music like Mariah does. Sad.

 

One comment as an example from their forum when Courage was released:

 

"Now, christmas season is over. Let’s see if Celine’s new album will return to top 100. She should promote the album not L’oreal or whatever beauty products that has nothing to do with her music lol. She should learn more with Mariah."

 

I just have to say amen to that.

 

We are spoiled by Celine doing incredibly well with sales and tour tickets without any promotion, but how long does it gonna last? She's literally doing the same show every year, I'm afraid it will get boring sooner or later and people will stop showing up.

At this point I don’t think they are focusing on getting any song up the charts 😆

Thank you, I believe it should be annouced on some of her major fan pages as well. They should give a hand in that.

I tell you what, we can decide on one specific day, and on that day everyone will write Celine a nice message

hastaging Celine on Twitter or on Instegram, that we will simple really like her to sing some new songs from Courage,

to get some special materials from past materials, or from Courage since we know they recorded billions of songs

for this one which is a great thing. She needs to dare to give space to new songs and not to be afraid of it.
