Shaun Posted August 23, 2020 at 05:47 PM Posted August 23, 2020 at 05:47 PM Who, exactly, is this "team?" No one seems to have an answer for that. So who are you mad at? Who are you frustrated with it? Who makes up Celine's "team?" If you can figure that out, you can then come up with a plan for all these fans who are so upset about the way things are going. But whenever someone tries to go that far, that's when people go "Oh, well, I don't have time to dig that deep." Or "I'm super busy right now but I really really hate what's happening." It's just mindless bitchy and whining. It's doing nothing productive to create change. So prove me wrong. Someone, ANYONE, come up with a detailed plan to change things and then put that plan into action. Actually, you know, DO SOMETHING!!!!! You really don't understand that every artist has a "team" behind them? Come on, nice try. Celine's A&R (artists and repertoire) team at her record company- just like the A&R team for any artist at any record company - are responsible for overseeing the recording process and assisting with marketing and promotion and deciding upon releases. From Elvis to Madonna, Celine to Mariah, Shania to Michael Jackson, these artists don't (or didn't) just do all the promotion and decide what to release themselves. Do you honestly think they did? Of course they all have a team behind them. What part of this do you fail to understand? It's not the fans job to "DO SOMETHING." It's the teams responsibilty. Still need it explained? 5 Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.
couldawouldashoulda Posted August 23, 2020 at 05:49 PM Posted August 23, 2020 at 05:49 PM first, obviously there are people that work for her and are in change of her accounts, so she does have a team (an intelligent person like you should be able to think that far...). Secondly, if you claim to be so much more intelligent than all of the other members here, why don't you come up with a plan? Instead you come here and only belittle and degrade everybody else in a highly disrespectful manner. I don’t care about creating a plan. If you’ve read my posts, I’m perfectly fine with the state of things. We just got 22 new songs. 22!!!!!!!! And she embarked on a world tour after 3 straight years of Vegas and summer tours after mourning the loss of the love of her life. I think she should be sitting on her butt right now, drinking wine, doing ballet with Pepe, enjoying her life and not doing ANYTHING WHATSOEVER to do with music. She’s earned a year long break that isn’t for birthing babies or crying her freaking eyes out. 2 Quote

So if you don’t know who’s job it is to take care of things, who is there to be angry at? You’re screaming into a void. guigafs15 Posted August 23, 2020 at 06:02 PM Posted August 23, 2020 at 06:02 PM Poor Madonna. What's up with her? She was booed at her tour in Vegas and Paris!!! Can you imagine that? It's not that bad. Her tour was all sold out and with really high prices for ticket. But it was on theaters. So there's no way to be more than that. Plus, she was booed not for the show but for being too late, what is disrespectful but in her case understandable. Madonna is old, very injured. Spend the whole tour suffering for terrible pains, cancelled a lot of dates for it. She needed almost 6 hours of treatment every day just to get up on the stage. It's pretty remarkable, actually. And she proved that this premise that old artists can only do greatest hits tour it's bullshit. She sang more than half of her new songs, got great reviews and sell out. She always focus on the new material on her tours and she is to this day the most tour selling female artist. Quote

guigafs15 Posted August 23, 2020 at 06:26 PM Posted August 23, 2020 at 06:26 PM why did she opt for a theatre tour? Probably because of her illness. She can't do what she used to do anymore. That elaborate dances, even walking on a big stage for 2 hours can be pretty hurtful. She needed a smaller stage, with a different concept of a show, more theatrical and less movement. Also it help her to travel less. Was almost like a mini residency in every city. She is old. As Celine and Mariah, who over used their voices and now struggles to maintain as they got older, Madonna over used her body, dancing non stop, and now is also paying the price. Quote

She didn’t get hurt until during the tour. It was designed to be a small theatre show. She wanted to connect to her audience. It was a great show. 1 Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
Céline RO Posted August 23, 2020 at 07:05 PM Posted August 23, 2020 at 07:05 PM Has she ever had a bigger per show gross rate than that?Yes, it is not even that high. She grossed $280 million with 132 shows during TCWT, which translates into an average of $2.12 milllion per concert. Pretty much the same number, but it was an over a decade ago. $2.12 million then was more than $2.12 million now. Lol @ Madonna's figures though... she'd always have $3 to $4 million per show, and now $700k. I understand is that she did a theathers tour on purpose, but it is still so unusual for her. Let’s not forget the 2018 tour which grossed an average of $2.57 million per show or the 2017 tour which was $2.53 million per show. However, I think the highest figure was $2.78 million per show on the 2013 tour (and that was in 2013 dollars!). 2 Quote The best is yet to come...

However, her attendance during the 2018 tour was really low, so I guess the tickets were expensive as f*** Okay, tickets in Australia, NZ, and Singapore are always very expensive due to high living standards, but $250 on average for a ticker in the Phillipines and Thailand, both of which are developing countries It was also around $2.5 million per concert for the 2017 tour, but she did bigger arenas and stadiums. In 2013, the sample was very small, but yeah, it was her even higher. So, I guess her attendance is lower for CWT than for TCWT due to the nature of the stage, but ticket prices are higher. Quote
Ukrfan Posted August 23, 2020 at 07:27 PM Posted August 23, 2020 at 07:27 PM So her ticket costs went down? Or is it just less in "real dollars" I need to look into it, but I think her attendance went down. She used a round stage in TCWT which would allow more people to be present. Also, in TCWT, she had a few stadiums. I really doubt her ticker prices are lower than 12 years ago, it should definetely be the other way round due to inflation and concert industry in general. 1 Quote
wjd Posted August 23, 2020 at 08:40 PM Posted August 23, 2020 at 08:40 PM Over $2m per show for an arena tour in the US is fantastic, when you consider just how many shows she played. 1 Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?

weasley123 Posted August 23, 2020 at 10:07 PM Posted August 23, 2020 at 10:07 PM When a human being is on a 100 plus city world tour after just releasing 22 new tracks, you may not like it, but yes - it’s makes people asking for more selfish and demanding. She’s not a freaking superhero. She’s a human, she’s a mother...OF THREE - she has so many other things in her life than her music. Just because some fans having nothing better to do with their lives than consume Celine Dion doesn’t mean she should be jumping when they say jump. Lol. Stop dramatize it. It’s not like she do that 100 plus city world tour for charity and for free. Millions of fans pay hundred of bucks to see her concert. It is a two way relationship. It’s not like she stay in a cheap hotel or sit in cheap airplane seat during the tour. It’s not like she can’t have life outside her music world like being a mom yada yada yada. She just need a good management to do all of that. It’s about how her management team failed to arrange her promotion properly. You need to stop dramatize her life as if she never have a life outside her career as singer. Geez. 3 Quote

Popular Post stevo Posted August 24, 2020 at 07:46 AM Popular Post Posted August 24, 2020 at 07:46 AM Goodness. Some things never change, eh? Haha Hello everyone 🙋🏻♂️ Oh aren’t we in a dilemma. Everything seemed off from the launch of Courage. The build up was fantastic, the hype was there, the industry was excited and then she got sick. Repeatedly. Weeks of promo in the US & UK cancelled and postponed shows to catch up on. Maman Dion died. A worldwide pandemic. The thing I have learnt over the last year comes down to one word- acceptance. Where we are now, is where we are. You can’t change it by moaning and saying coulda woulda shoulda, but I didnt do that...Courage got to number one (because of ticket bundles) and then vanished. But you know what- we got 22 epic, amazing, beautiful, Céline-is-modern-relevant-strong-powerful songs. Yes her team were and are hideously terrible, yes I’ll scream if I see another picture of her picking apples taken by Dee the Hairdresser who can only rake her hair into a rotten bun (hello, L’Oreal Ambassador!?) But really does anyone outside of this 100 people on the forum care if Céline streams a million songs in a week or gets to number one on iTunes? No no no. Does anyone care outside of Mariah’s Please Silence Those Lambs if an old single gets to number one? It might make a crap article on some crap entertainment website. But it matters not. I for one would be terrified of Céline releasing a ‘Rarities’ album because the s*** storm on the forum about why this and that wasn’t or was on there and why Ashes isn’t on there and why Love Lights Up The World is from that performance and not that performance... I hope you all are Covid unaffected and safe. May the apples give you peace. 11 Quote
