MTV Germany had a 90s special this week. They played Mariah, Madonna and Whitney...

But not Celine. Not even MHWGO, one of the biggest hits in the 90s, if not the biggest. WTF

This is weird, especially for Germany. It used to be her golden mine. But then again, she's never been and never will be cool, no matter how much fashion clothes she puts on.

About the Idol and other shows. Judges used to cringe when contestants used her songs, but I feel it changed and they praise her to heavens, because she is a legend now. I guess it depends.

It just means that despite being a bonus track Heart of Glass is one of the songs with the most views on the album.

And by the way, I try to be a positive person and avoid being rude to other fans. If I don't have anything good to write, I just don't write it.

 

As a fan of Celine's career for more than 25 years, I am very happy for any achievement and 1 million views for a song without a music video or any promotion, it is a feat worthy of mention. That’s my opinion.

 

I remember that Celine achieved great success in Europe because someone remembered to promote Think Twice and the rest is history. Maybe if Sony released this song as a single with real promotion this great album could have the achievements that deserves.

 

PS: Heart of Glass is a subject of this topic, right? I’m just trying to keep this topic alive. Sorry if I offended anyone with my posts...

Probably. I think views are converted into equivalent unit sales and eventually a song could receive a certain certification but I’m no specialist. All I know is it can only be good.

Actually, I think it's not that 'simple'. This equivalence of 1.500 streams to 1 unit's are only for albums. To certified gold, a song needs 150 streams to hit 1 sale. It goes like this: 1500 streams = 10 tracks sales = 1 album sale. But, there's one thing: since those are the rules from RIAA (USA), only counts the streaming occurring in USA. In order to know when the song will be gold we need to know how much of this 1 million stream of HOG is from USA.

 

And that's just the rules from RIAA. Billboard have another way, since free platform like YouTube counts even less for them, is like 3750 streams to 1 sale.
