Celine could talk to Cardi B and ask her to participate in one of her songs, I'm sure it happens she goes to the top.

The best is yet to come...

Madonna literally payed 5 million from her own pocket just for a performance at WMA, who do you think is responsible and founding her music videos? Her passion about music and showbiz is far beyond Celine's and anybody else's really. I can never imagine Celine paying anything by her own.

Yes, Celine is a showbusiness mogul too, but as soon as she gets off the stage she is not a singer anymore. I think we need to understand this before we start comparing her to others. Even Mariah lives as a singer nonstop, hence her social media posts. But then again, who do you think is a better mother? My best friend is a MC fan a he always says she's using her kids as an accessory:D

Madonna’s yearn to remain as relevant as a 20 year old is far beyond any of her peers’. And over the last decade, it hasn’t exactly worked out for her. No matter how much money she has spent.

I'd rather watch Aline 50 times than that cr*p you just posted on a Celine forum! :lmao: Edited by Xpresso

Having a movie made about your life indicates you’re a bigger legend than someone who wrote their own autobiography.

With that said, I’ll probably read it! Curious to see things through Mariah’s lens. My assumption (total speculation in my brain) was it was full of shade but then she revised it / changed her approach when she saw how successful Jessica Simpson’s autobiography was. The Jessica autobiography was fantastic!

But, again, this Aline film demonstrates how part of culture Celine truly is. :D

That budget must be very low then, Madonna's last CD sold less than Courage and she has 5 music videos, what is happening with Celine then ??

Madonna and celine are two very different artist madonna has music videos because that is all she does shgive a show lypsinc and music videos which are creative she does not have the voice and is not know as a strong vocalist im sure you would agree that than the marketing would be different

I think it was more René who pushed for a Neyo duet, than Neyo wanted it.

I think René thought that a duet with him would lead to a broader and younger audience. But it didn't do a thing.

I remember Aldo asked me what I thought of a duet with Ed Sheeran, so he was definitely more up to date in that area than René was.

I would love to have a duet that would make the media talk about.

Sam Smith

Ed Sheeran

Adele

Coldplay

3 of the above already love and some adore Céline, I find it hard to believe that they don't want to.

Yeah for courage album I could reaally here a duet of her and adele on Perfect goodbye, Bruno mars or sam smith on How did you get here.. With Sia on Lying Down and maybe one more like boundaries would be a very beautiful duet with maybe katy perry or lady gaga somwhere?

Well there is a new book written by our own Celine Fan 77! :)

But the point is she is fighting, music makes her happy and she wants to share it with the world and her fans. But even if you're right now, we can only dream about Celine staying relevant as long as her. Madonna had her peak around the age of 50! literally making one hit after another, that's just something unimaginable and I don't think she gets enough recognition for that.

Celine could've kept up with her only until 2003 and she was only 35, after that it went downhill.

(And no, I'm not talking about her always sold out tours, but about strikes in pop culture)

“How Did You Get Here” was a missed opportunity to have as a duet with Bruno Mars. That would’ve have been gold!

How did you get here was a missed opportunity even without him.

Madonna’s peak was between 1998 and 2000 the “Ray of Light” and “Music” albums.

She had her “Cher” moment in 2005 with the “Confessions on a Dancefloor” album. Her last two moderately successful songs featured Justin Timberlake and Nicki Minaj.

Madonna can’t score a top 10 on her own anymore, and neither can Celine. This is how the market has been for decades. I’d rather Celine hold on to her status as a successful legend, than be like Madonna screaming to be relevant by teaming up with any artist who happens to be hot at the moment. It makes her look desperate, in my opinion.

But I think a duet with Sam Smith or Adele or Bruno Mars or Lady Gaga etc would be fabulous & it wouldn’t look desperate. It would just work. Celine has now become Barbra & it’s time for a new Tell Him.

Either a brand new song or choose one of the Courage songs — reviving the album.

I wouldn’t mind a thoughtfully done duets album, but it would have to be people she has a real connection with, not just whoever is hot at the moment.

It worked wonders for Tony Bennett! Everyone wanted to work with him, and Celine has such a stellar reputation in the industry (and recently, critical recognition), I bet anyone she wants to work with, she can get.

Madge's peak is 1987-1990. She had a first Cher type comeback in 1998 and 2000 then in 2006

That's a lot of "Cher type comeback", don't you think? 😅

Then when I said Celine’s fans are as much delusional as Mariah fans, I'm a lamb haha!

The woman had a major success with Bedtime Stories in 94, Evita in 96, Ray of Light in 98, Music in 00. She failed with American Life in 03, but hit the world with Confessions in 05' and Hard Candy in 08'. Her real decline came only with MDNA in 2012, and she was already 54yo. And let's not even talk about tour sells cause, really, all her latest tour are on the list of top grossing tours of all times.

By this logic of yours, Celine would've peak in 99', what would be actually pretty sad, specially if we considered that she started her english career in the 90'.

Let's keep real, please!

The recent uploads to her YouTube account seem absolutely pointless now. Do they really think posting three 1 minute studio clips of "Courage," "Flying On My Own" and "Nobody's Watching" dubbed over the footage is going to do anything worthwhile? If it weren't so sad I'd laugh.

This and also their upcoming trivia game about courage they announced on twitter. Its as if they do it on purpose to make it the worst possible .. I lost hope

I used to think the same. Meaning, everyone talks so highly of her but nothing comes from the talk. To me it's just all lip service. Well, there was The Prayer, with Gaga and Legend so... :giggle:

I don't really care for hits, let alone top 10 hits anymore. But I do wish she'd put her new music out there more with performing on TV shows and such. It's incredibly sad that the only TV live performance of the whole Courage era is Imperfections. Sure she might not get a hit, but she could get people's attention to the new song(s) and to listen to the album. I just find it frustrating and annoying that she put a damn good album out and it's just heading towards oblivion

How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

This is me as a fan! I don't care if my favorite artists are on the Billboard charts anymore. At this point, some of my faves will never make it to the Billboard 100 and are not plastered all over the TV, and frankly I don't care. What I do care about is if the album is a solid album that inspires me and I enjoy listening to it regularly. I like it when I connect to their new album that I have been "jamming" to for the last X weeks, and I finally go to their show, they play several songs off the new record. And whatever promo they do for themselves- whether it be TV, radio, music videos, etc- they are excited to show off their new songs along side their older material. Why can't Celine do this now?

You would think Celine would be excited to get to this point in her career. She can make "hits" now (like I Surrender) of songs she is truly passionate about without having to worry about doing tons of promo and if the songs chart and earn awards. All she has to do is sing the songs consistently for a concert run/residency, and bring them out again a few years later for an extended period of time. Only songs she is doing this for are from the 90s/early 00s. But she has received great songs the last 15 years that we will never hear or hear them again (except for a one off maybe). So like you Davey, I'm frustrated too.

And yet, even that performance was met with criticism due to her and her team’s complete and utter disconnect from the event for which she performed the song. Even the public was less than thrilled she performed “Imperfections” inside on a stationary stage instead of one of the moving floats in the parade.

Posted (edited)

On a float or not, some people will never be happy. And Celine has learned that a long time ago! :giggle:

I would think she didn't want to risk getting sick again for her tour but who knows. And I don't really care for the float. But I'm very happy she sang Imperfections!

It is. I just can't get why this wasn't possible last year.

They're acting as if the album will be released in the next few weeks! :innocent:

Céline's peak was in the late '90's. She'll never again achieve the success and popularity she had in those years.

But that doesn't mean it's bad...and it's definitely not sad. She's in a way different league now. She's still (or again) popular, she's still active, she's a "legacy/legend' artist now.

A lot of artists, especially these days, peak early in their career. And think for example of Adele... she had her peak with 21/25 and I really think the "Adele hype" is over. Of course, a next album will do good and will be a success, but I doubt it will be like those eras.
