Then when I said Celine's fans are as much delusional as Mariah fans, I'm a lamb haha!

 

The woman had a major success with Bedtime Stories in 94, Evita in 96, Ray of Light in 98, Music in 00. She failed with American Life in 03, but hit the world with Confessions in 05' and Hard Candy in 08'. Her real decline came only with MDNA in 2012, and she was already 54yo. And let's not even talk about tour sells cause, really, all her latest tour are on the list of top grossing tours of all times.

 

By this logic of yours, Celine would've peak in 99', what would be actually pretty sad, specially if we considered that she started her english career in the 90'.

celine's peak was 95-99 yes. Go search in the dictionary what peak means and then try to keep it real yourself.

 

regarding madonna, bedtime stories and evita were not major successes, rather mild successes for what they were. neither was hard candy, or else taking chances would be considered a success and it wasn't. you seem to be too generous with your description of major success. again, dictionary.

I’ve been reflecting on how Rene & Celine were the perfect team.

The recent uploads to her YouTube account seem absolutely pointless now. Do they really think posting three 1 minute studio clips of "Courage," "Flying On My Own" and "Nobody's Watching" dubbed over the footage is going to do anything worthwhile? If it weren't so sad I'd laugh.

 

It’s an absurd especially when they have a music video that has not yet been released.

If they want to promote the album they need to release the music video for Lying Down!!! Simple.

Seems like our only hope is if she does some promo to relaunch the tour whenever that happens. And let's hope that comes with a big duet / music video. (We can dream!)

 

Who knows... she might shock us all and try to revive the album at some point this year. I hope!

I’m glad they’re at least doing the trivia & acknowledging the album’s existence on her social media. Casual fans will continue to discover this fabulous album.

 

They could use the one year anniversary of releasing these tracks as an excuse to release something new... like the Lying Down music video. Or Celine commentary on each track. Or anything!

 

& I wonder if we will get more studio “sessions” or if that’s already over?

 

It does seem like Celine is gonna hide out til the end of the pandemic rather than “use” this time. She deserves to rest, but her team could certainly get creative. But without someone at the top (a manager or Celine herself) guiding the ship & inspiring / pushing the team, things will stay a bit stagnant.

 

With all that said, us fans have tons of power in this age of social media! I still think we could plan something BIG for the one year anniversary of the album’s release. Resurrect the album with a trending hashtag. It will fall just a couple weeks after the US presidential election so hopefully it wouldn’t get lost / drowned out.

 

I really think it could work. We get a hashtag trending & we all shoot the album back to the top of iTunes. We’ll get some articles written about it & Celine will see how dedicated her fans are.

Slightly off topic, but 90's pop group Steps, (featuring Claire Richards who supported Celine at Hyde Park), have just released their new song written and produced by Sia.

 

It's a shame that Sia never offered it to Celine as its better than anything she gave her on Courage and the theme of the song would have fitted the loose concept of the album so well.

 

I'd love for Celine to do a song like this with all the choreography too. I can't remember the last time that Celine actually did proper choreography, (probably TCWT?). Also, Claire (pink hair in the video) has a very similar singing style to Celine so its quite easy to imagine how it would sound.

I'm really not impressed with this song. Glad Celine didn't end up with it.

The problem I see on Twitter as well are that negative posts are overshadowed by blindly following and praising Celine fans. I wish a post was liked hundreds so she could see of her team could see what we think about the promotion of this album - or better - no promotion..

It's gonna be interesting to hear what it sounds like compared to Celine's version. I can't stand that song, but it's all because of Celine's delivery, and not because the song itself is bad. When I heard Sam Smith wrote a song for Celine I thought it would be something amazing like, Too Good At Goodbyes, Stay With Me, I'm Not The Only One, or something like that with great vocals by Celine. Instead we got this mediocre song with jaw-singing. I suppose Sam likes the song and want to do it justice.
