"Courage" album - Official Topic

Goodness. Some things never change, eh? Haha

 

Hello everyone ‍♂️

 

Oh aren’t we in a dilemma. Everything seemed off from the launch of Courage. The build up was fantastic, the hype was there, the industry was excited and then she got sick. Repeatedly. Weeks of promo in the US & UK cancelled and postponed shows to catch up on. Maman Dion died. A worldwide pandemic.

 

The thing I have learnt over the last year comes down to one word- acceptance. Where we are now, is where we are. You can’t change it by moaning and saying coulda woulda shoulda, but I didnt do that...Courage got to number one (because of ticket bundles) and then vanished. But you know what- we got 22 epic, amazing, beautiful, Céline-is-modern-relevant-strong-powerful songs.

 

Yes her team were and are hideously terrible, yes I’ll scream if I see another picture of her picking apples taken by Dee the Hairdresser who can only rake her hair into a rotten bun (hello, L’Oreal Ambassador!?)

 

But really does anyone outside of this 100 people on the forum care if Céline streams a million songs in a week or gets to number one on iTunes? No no no. Does anyone care outside of Mariah’s Please Silence Those Lambs if an old single gets to number one? It might make a crap article on some crap entertainment website. But it matters not.

 

I for one would be terrified of Céline releasing a ‘Rarities’ album because the s*** storm on the forum about why this and that wasn’t or was on there and why Ashes isn’t on there and why Love Lights Up The World is from that performance and not that performance...

 

I hope you all are Covid unaffected and safe. May the apples give you peace.

 

HAha makes sense. I do not care that much for her having a number one hit but I do care that she releases an album and promotes it in her tour. Not to have a hitrecord, okay that would be nice for her, but to show those songs in a live setting and show that you really care for this album, show the passion to sing those songs. As for the bun, she likes to wear her hair like this and yes it does not look flattering but what can we do?? She can wear her hair in a bun if she sings the hard way among others live

I join. As a told you I'm ready, so I did my little step talking about it with Sony Music.

I'm happy knowing that Céline is with her Family enjoying life.

 

My message was only sending to Sony Music.

 

I'm so proud of her and for all the hard work she has done in her whole career.

She deserves that this Music Label promote this Epic artist that has sold a lot of millions of albums. If I have the chance to let the know that Courage album and Miss Céline Dion deserve more respect to her Job, I'll do it for sure. I'd like to enjoy more new albums in the future and as I said before not to wait 5 years to another album. I know what happened unfortunately in 2016 and I support her and I appreciate all she has done since 2016 until now.

Anyway an artist like Cèline Dion need the respect and support for her Record Label.

She's done this for the past few tours, and it's really disrespectful and obnoxious. The first time it happened to me (I think it was the MDNA tour), because she came on so late (by three hours), lots of people had to leave early due to kids/work/school/whatever - some even before the concert started. For me, I'd gone there on public transport rather than driving, and of course public transport had finished for the day by the time the concert let out. This was before Uber, so I had to grab a taxi, and it was before they universally took credit cards so I needed cash and didn't have enough. Had to hop out a couple of miles away from home and walk the rest of the way. It really is a horrendous way of abusing your fans and taking them for granted. The Madame X tour was the first time that it really came to a head for attendees and they had to start officially changing the start times, but even that was far too little, too late.

I'm sorry but the promotion of the Courage album translates into absurd incompetence.

It is still time to at least release the music video for Lying Down.

 

It would be wonderful to see Celine win another Grammy Award but with promotion like this I think it’s impossible. And it's sad because the album is so so good.

How would we know what to complain about with a Rarities album since we don’t know what is in her vault? I think fans would love it, to hear classic 90s Celine. I would shut up about Courage missteps if she gave us those Phil Spector songs.

 

I mean, hell, the rare live audio someone shared recently of her singing “Did You Give Enough Love” excited me way more than any behind-the-scenes from Courage that they have released.

 

In fact, I would see a Rarities album as one of the things I would accept with no conditions. That would be an album for true fans, and I wouldn’t care if she promoted it or not.

That certainly doesn't make it acceptable behavior. Not to mention that there are many, many casual fans who go to see Madonna because they know the hits and she puts on a good show.

Just because she posted a clip in a garden it doesn’t mean that there will be anything new. This short cringe video has been available on apple music for months, and now they just shared it on youtube for everybody. I wouldn’t read too much into it.
