couldawouldashoulda Posted August 18, 2020 at 09:04 PM Posted August 18, 2020 at 09:04 PM Hell, I would love to see her put back in the tour is FOMO , I thought that did pretty well , and she only sang it just a few times , then dropped like a Hot Potato , That’s because she found that she couldn’t sing it without lipping the chorus. I know she was sick the one time she tried singing it in full but even on the opening night in Quebec when she sang a cut down version during the medley, it doesn’t sound very good. One thing I’ll say for her...she barely lips on this tour. She’s taken to cutting songs she can’t sing rather than lipping them - like Lying Down. Imperfections was much easier for her to sing - plus it actually did well in the states. Quote

Back then I saw the live videos of this song, Celine enjoyed singing itand really had lovely connection with this one.At the end, I bet they had no choice so they added it to the setlist after seeing that this song kept having good chart positions. Besides that, this song is fresh one and has grooviness which I like, she could have such an amazingTour adding Courage songs that were tailored for live performances I'm very curious to see their next plans. 1 Quote "Needed in the chaos and confusion, from the plains to City HallNeeded where the proud who walk the wire are set to fall"
beelee Posted August 19, 2020 at 01:45 AM Posted August 19, 2020 at 01:45 AM (edited) Celine’s team is lazy because they can be. She records a new album, does a bit of promo, and then goes off to make millions of dollars on tour just like that. They don’t have to put in any effort. Celine and her band don’t need to learn new songs to perform. Does it get boring? I’m sure it does. But without anyone giving Celine a nudge that we all know Rene did, we’re going to get the same routine each and every album and tour cycle from now on. I hope this changes. As a fan, I’m just glad that she continues to record new music. We’re lucky that she at least releases new music, even if she doesn’t bother to perform it. thatstheteacherinmehbaby Posted August 19, 2020 at 07:32 AM Posted August 19, 2020 at 07:32 AM (edited) I don’t think Celine wants to do any of those things. She’s just not interested in doing things like that. She likes to record and she likes to sing live for TONS of people. She doesn’t seem to enjoy the singing at home thing. She’ll do it for charity when asked but she only did it once - Winter Song, right? - on her own. The fact she never did it again makes me think she didn’t enjoy the experience. yes i think that is the case as well with celine & the recording-@-home "virtual concerts" thing, i had already mentioned that in one of my previous posts about that particular subject... it is VERY apparent as since the month of march, which is now nearly 6 months ago, she has only done ONE of those types of shows - the one with lady gaga where they sang "the prayer"... & it is NOT like celine has not had the free time on her hands during the past 6 months, because we all know she HAS! but again, like myself & a few other people on here have already pointed out on this thread - about the possibility of, because of the coronavirus, that there might NOT be any more actual "live concerts" after all this, if there are no viable treatments/cures/vaccines for this virus, & everything that is happening now in the world, now will stay "THE NEW NORMAL", & entertainers will have to stay doing the "VIRTUAL concerts" instead of the actual live concerts? The thing about being an artist and stay current is you have to adapt with change, trends, situations, market, fans needs, etc. But in Celine's case, they don't really care about those things. When it comes about music promo, they did one of the worst strategy -if there's any- in Celine's career. But different thing happen when it's about fashion. Celine's is everywhere during Paris Fashion Week and Met Gala. Not that it's not good, but for me, Celine is a singer and still singer, and should prioritize her musical career first. By the way, fact that it takes her 6 years and longer to record albums just proves that recording is no longer her priority. Didn't they announce Courage World Tour way long before announce Courage album release date? So it's not that she can't do it, it's only she's no longer has no passion about record and promote an album. Maybe she did it just for contractual obligation? 2 Quote

mirage Posted August 19, 2020 at 11:49 AM Posted August 19, 2020 at 11:49 AM This would be the best option. Meanwhile Mariah is releasing an 'rarities' album this year. Where is Céline? Busy with? Yeah, if she wants to continue with this tour, they should release a "special edition" of 'Courage' with some new tracks (and new versions of some of the songs). OR... when it will be taking longer (Corona), which is more likely, they should just "cancel" the tour. Release a new English album (she said they had enough material to release another one), start a new tour, which will combine songs from that new album, 'Courage' and her hits. 1 Quote

couldawouldashoulda Posted August 19, 2020 at 04:39 PM Posted August 19, 2020 at 04:39 PM (edited) I think this is going to be a new era for Celine where, I'm afraid, many of her fans will lose interest in her. (And many will stick with her as well.) As she's firmly in middle-age now, she definitely doesn't have the desire to do lots of promo for her material. If someone approaches her for a commercial about fashion, she's all into it, but making tik-tok videos or singing a song at home and releasing it...it's just not her. I think if that's where the music industry is headed, Celine will have nothing to do with it. I predict that she'll continue to release a new English album every 6 years or so. If the touring industry comes back full force, she'll just focus on that as she continues to sell out singing the same material. No need to to do something different if you're making money with what you're already doing. If touring doesn't come back the way we've known it before, she'll become a performer for the rich. In order for concert promoters to make money selling tickets to half-empty stadiums, they'll need to start charging $5,000-$7,000 for floor seats, $2,000-$4,000 for mid-level and $1,000 for nosebleed seats. Time will tell. She just doesn't seem interested in "selling herself" anymore. She does her job and lets it speak for itself while she continues to rake in the dough. (I'd do the same if I were in her position.) Edited August 19, 2020 at 04:39 PM by couldawouldashoulda 1 Quote

I think we must realise, that she now at that point of her career, like Streisand or Elton John. I think she will start a new Vegas Show and maybe she will do Mini--Tours again. 1 Quote

It's never been a better time to release an album with old unreleased songs. A true collection of rare gems for the fans. We need The Collector's Series Volume 2. I'd even take another "greatest hits" album at this point with the inclusion of some new songs. If Celine doesn't make new music that often anymore, they could still release old preferable unreleased songs. 3 Quote

Today she announced a "rarities" album with 30 tracks for the fans on October 2. What did we get today? A picture from the courage photo shoot. LOL. I'm always positive. Always. But in Celine's own lyrical words "I've had it up to here up to my neck. tired of being politically correct." Yes she is amazing. Yes her shows are incredible. But where the hell has she been since March!??!?!?! The most we get is her trying on that ridiculous metal concoction of a body suit. (to which, many BTW that i showed replied with "Gross". ) sorry-them not me! Regardless the lack of creativity is baffling. I hope to God she surprises us in the next month or two. But if history is the best indicator of future behaviour, I'm expecting zilch. I'm checking out for a while. Following her is too disheartening lately. 6 Quote

Celine works her tail off - always has. Just not in the way some fans want her to. She performs so much between Vegas and her tours. She’s been going non-stop since practically 2003 only taking time off to have a baby or grieve over the loss of her husband and brother. Girl deserves some time to herself. But if history is the best indicator of future behaviour, I'm expecting zilch. I'm checking out for a while. Following her is too disheartening lately. I definitely agree. That said, Mariah is super into her legacy and has way more of an ego than Celine. Secondly, we all know Celine was very late with getting hip to social media and doesn't even use much technology herself, apparently. Thirdly, she lost her mom not long ago...who knows how that can be affecting her in ways we do not see She may be supporting or taking care of business with her huge family during this weird pandemic time. Also, she simply has to be asked to perform on some shows. I don't know how booking works, but either she isn't being asked, or she is rejecting, or her team simply needs to start pushing harder to get her out in the spotlight. After all, she wouldn't be alone in being off the radar. Adele and Beyonce are always hard to get a hold of and don't do many interviews or performances. Why don't we compare Celine to them instead of Mariah? Of course, though, some us feel like Celine when being interviewed by Larry King "I know there's reasons for it, but I'm sorry to say, I'm being rude, I don't want to hear those reasons!" Quote
Popular Post Shaun Posted August 19, 2020 at 08:09 PM Popular Post Posted August 19, 2020 at 08:09 PM Whoever is in charge of Celine at Sony needs to seriously consider their position. We can blame a lack of manager but let''s not pretend that all was well when Rene was in charge. Sony still had no idea what to do or how to market her back then. And nothing has changed. Remember the cheapo LMBTL video from the Quebec concert cos they wouldn't pay for a "proper" music video? Remember how the second single "Incredible" got a music video a full 6 months after Celine and Ne-Yo performed it on The Voice? Who is deciding this stuff? We randomly get music videos then we randomly get nothing. Do we even need to talk about the EUS music video farce? Celine's most important and emotive French album in a long time. We know they filmed footage for a video. Somehow it never gets released. We get 2 music videos for the "Courage" album but not for the one song they apparently believed in, took time and spent money on filming a video for! (Lying Down) Even if the song bombed what is the harm in releasing it? Seriously what's the big deal to release it? Who is deciding this stuff? We get literally zero promotion beyond release week for an album that the world waited 6 years for. Even if Celine were sick, one day she's not going to be here at all, and you can bet they'll find a way to market her unreleased / from the vaults material then! Who is deciding this stuff? DVD's and BluRay may not sell the way they used to, but when when it's something special people do still buy them. Where's the release for Celine's 2nd Vegas residency? Sell it on iTunes, put it on her YouTube channel for free or make a deal with Netflix or whatever. BST Hyde Park? An undoubted highlight of Celine's career. She enjoyed it so much she booked to do more festivals during the "Courage World Tour." We know it was professionally filmed. More than a year has passed and nothing. We ain't getting that show either. How about uploading some live tracks from the show to iTunes or Spotify? Nope. Why? It's only Celine Dion, let's not bother! Celine may well be a "touring artist" now. She seems happy with that. She may well be a legacy artist in the record companies eyes. She may well, according to some, have no interest in her own music. Surely though, the one job of the "team" at the record company is to promote the music and get it out there? Somebody at Sony is deciding "let's not bother" with Celine. Who is it? Every other major artist - legacy or not - has their record company all over their new (and older!) material. Singles, music videos, promotion, online adverts, rare material, box sets, special editions, re-releases, DVD's, documentaries, Netflix deals etc. I am most certainly not aiming any of this at Celine herself, she's worked her #ss off her whole life. She deserves a team who has a clue to do the work for her! Sony though? Celine even visited their headquarters last year in person to thank them all. It feels to me though like they're laughing at her! 14 Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.
