I just read it somewhere that Celine had an upskirt??? is it true?

Bingo! From 2005 to the present date, its all about doing the high notes constantly in every song. She became obsessed with belting them!. What was an exciting moment in All By Myself, waiting to hear the high note in "anymore", has become a permanent feature adding high notes in every song even in part where there shouldnt be any. I too feel tired in my ears after hearing so many of these "invented" high notes, especially in the final part of the TCWT where you get a full demonstration with IA/Soul Medley/Queen Medley/LCMM/RDMH all in a roll one after the other.

 

Totally agree that the high notes are much more appreciated when she does fewer of them than constantly throughout all the song, like she does in LCMM since Vegas for example

Participating in this music festival should have been an honour, something to feel proud and even more if its the first time you go in your career to sing in that place. But lately she uses to rush every visit she does to perform, one-day trip, there and back again, as if it was more a compromise than a pleasure invitation. When things are rushed this way, that's what we've got in the show, a disconnected Céline, especially in THLAL where she kept strolling from one side to another of the stage like a lion in a cage Couldn't they have prepared a small choreography for once? Is that much to ask for one song?

 

Blame it to the jetlag or whatever you want, but if you only care about the Vegas residency and no longuer care to give out the best of you when you go to a show where the world is anxiously awaiting to see you, maybe she'd better stay in the Colosseum inside her comfort zone.

 

Of course you're right we should feel grateful for her to do these rare participations outside Las Vegas, but is exactly because of that, that we demand an extra from her. Not every fan can afford to see her in the Colosseum in the other corner of the world (glad for you that see her many nights!), so we had much anticipation for this ocassion to see her in a event which was "open" to everybody (problem of the livestream cancelled apart). It's as if our girl was released from her "home" and we could see her sing for once, so we were excited. This was a full concert, we don't know when this will happen again. Probably not until the next tour (if it comes eventually). So coming with a playback for a song that she hadn't sang in 13 years is just unacceptable.

I HIGHLY doubt that. That is hilarious . I'm afraid she doesn't care about a single word of what we say here and she's totally unaware. Otherwise, things would be different since the middle run of A New Day...

 

I totally agree, with you we all can't afford to see Celine every month. I am blessed enough to see Celine three times. I'm glad Celine sang in Jameca for the festival. I love the that we got movies of her performing. I don't care if she lyp lsynces or not. I just glad, I got to see,and hear her.

It was also the first time Celine has been to their country, and they have finally seen her. It must have been stunning for them, they have waited a long time for her to come there. Shame, i'm glad they all seemed to have a great time. We see the things that were wrong, but to them, i don't think they even noticed anything. They were just so happy she was there.

^If they make a DVD/special or whatever...they'll probably cut away from Celine during any awkward parts and do a wide shot or focus on the audience.

 

They can pull out the playback audio during the parts where she's singing twice, too.

If they were absolutely bent on releasing a DVD, they could always edit. (i.e. change camera angles, or cut the song completely out of the DVD).

Don't hold your breath on a tv airing or a DVD. I think the best footage will come from the RHs since the two main ladies had front row there.

We only have two official videos of her performing (I posted them ten minutes ago in this topic) and both songs were 100% live, I'm quite not sure if the lipped songs will be released that way, specially THLAL.

It saddens me that some of you have lost respect for her. And to me,s he often blows me away. I can't wait to see what she does next. I am honestly frightened by this topic. If this si how most people feel, then to me, her legacy is in serious danger, not by any doing of her own. She has done things that not many women singers have. Unlike Miss Whitney, she has NOT gone down the drug root. Unlike Mariah, she has not overused her voice to the point of ruin. She is the consumate diva still going and I'm sad by what I read. I have a sinking pit in my stomach. I hope this is not how all her fans feel. Are there some who still love her? I think that loving her does not mean you love everything she does, or cannot admit when she may not have been able to give her best. It means knowing what she is capable of and that it has not diminished over time. that she still has it. The things that happen to her, happen to everyone. I think she had a great stage presence and was happy, are you talkin about beofre or after THLAL cause she was probably pissed about the technical problems of THLAL...

Shaun she will never be critisized about lip synching like Britney is. We can't compare both. Britney practically inserts her CD and pushes play before entering the stage. At least Celine sings 100% at times and records playbacks before a world tour when she lips.

 

People WANT to hear ALL BY MYSLEF and its ludicrous to think she will hit the note night after night! As a fan i would be pissed off if she did that, ruining her vocal cords for an insignificant public (yes i said it tyler lol)

 

BUT i have to admit that i am VERY disapointed with her lip synching to THLAL. She knew her most devoted fans were only going to care to listen to that song since its been sooooo long that she performed it. Yet she goes on stage and use a 20 yrs old playback for that song

Remember that for the TCWT and TTEOTW releases they recorded new playbacks AFTER the event and BEFORE the dvds were released because they knew the original playbacks were identical to previous dvd releases.

 

You are correct however in saying I cant really compare Celine with Britney when it comes to playback as at least we know Celine has "the voice" something Britney will never have, it's just frustrating that she chooses not to use it and, like I said previously, go to great lengths to cover up what they are doing.

I am easy maybe, but i prefer a little bit of greatness like Mr. Paganini, that a whole show full of crap sang or sung(i don't know(very live. What i like the most about Celine is that type of thing. Can you imagine another singer able to do so many kind of songs? NOBODY. , i don't care about the lipping, i would certainly prefer less, but what can i do. I will enjoy what i can and forget about the rest.

 

I will add that i tried to watch the last dvd of Barbra, today, and i love Celine even more, not my cup of tea...

From my part, I LOVE her today exactly the same as the first day I discovered her. If not more. That's the reason why, IF I believe she can do better or far more better (like in this case) I will openly say it. And when she excells herself I will say it too

Having seen the videos of her singing live, it is only fair to say that she sounds great. And Mr Paginini was excelent and loved her little Jamaica speech- i dunno- there is a horrible atmosphere around this concert now- well, this topic on this forum. She is an exceptional artist and singer, i just wish she surprised us. I knew there'd be the usual playbacks- doesn't bother me in the slightest, but I did think theer was something missing.

 

I certainly respect her, and think she will always be viewed as a superstar.

All i meant to say is that she doesnt lip synch to her original songs. YES she is fooling people and her fans, but not the die hard cord fans like us.

 

Is it wrong? some will say it is; but I don't object it. I'm actually glad she does lip synch and i'll always promote it, EXCEPT when she does unique shows and televised performance. At least she's professional enough to trick people in the best possible ways (THLAL was the first time i've seen her completely failing at lip synching, thats just too bad)

 

I think its bad to make youtube videos about how she really does lipsynch.

I'll tell you why it think its bad: My mom was fan of Celine (but never as much as me). When Celine performed at Walt Disney few years ago, I knew Celine was lip synching; it was OBVIOUS for me. And i looked at my mom who was completely in awe in front of the TV listening to Celine singing. Was I going to tell my mom : "Hey mom, its fake, she's lip synching her 10 yrs old album." !?! Of course NOT!! Why would i ruin this moment?? She didn't need to know that fact, and so most of her fans! By making those videos prooving she lips synchs we are just destroying her career and her fans' unconditional love for Celine, the performer. She's not murdering anyone, she's only bringing joy to 99% of her fans.... we are just the 1%

To me Celine is a professional performer and if lip synching never existed, you wouldnt have seen her doing that many shows for the past 30 yrs. Without playbacks, she would either have had throat cancer by now, or she would be home 50% of the time to recover from all that singing.

 

Agree with me or NOT on this, i'll never change my mind! I regret having seen those videos on youtube. i wish i had never seen them.... But its too late now.

Celine probably only used playback to rest her voice. She has an album to record in 2 days and Celine always rests her voice up to a week before recording. Celine just wants to be at her best for the album. Come on guys you know Celine, she didn't want to let Jamiaca down so she couldn't say no when they asked her to be part of the festival. She's really just trying to please everyone.
