Yaaay!! That would be great!! It was so fun there getting to go to the sound check my boyfriends family lives there so we get to go stay at there house!! If it happens I'll be there again for sure!!

IF Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival organisers have their way, Canadian singer Celine Dion could be back for another performance.

A five-time Grammy winner, Dion headlined the festival two years ago, and according to Junior Taylor, the festival's associate producer, she wants to return.

Taylor was a special guest at this week's Jamaica Observer's Monday Exchange held at its Beechwood Avenue offices.

The associate producer outlined some of the challenges faced when seeking international acts. He said, in addition to prohibitive fees, sometimes it is the management and booking agents who block a number of artistes from performing.

He explained that it is the artiste who sometimes intervenes and stresses that they want to perform in Jamaica. And that was the case with Dion.

"Sometimes the artiste may have that desire but management and booking agent don't 'business', they just want their 20 per cent. It is an artiste who is vocal and well-rounded who will say 'listen, I want to do Jamaica. Here's what I want, make it happen.' And that's what happened with Celine Dion... We got it done by friends of the festival who contacted her management ... and she wants to come back," he said.

Taylor, however, added that Dion's return may not neccesarily be part of 'Jazz' but rather part of a one-night- only series.

Some other international headline acts his team are eyeing include Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Neil Diamond, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Prince, Madonna, and Beyoncé.

This would be great if Celine could return to Jamaica. The fans loved her there when she performed. They were so energetic and Celine fed off of them and was really happy and excited after her performance. There was a special vibe in the air that night.

 

It felt like the 90's all over again, Where people went crazy for Celine and she got lots of audience reaction to each song. It was amazing. I know Celine must have felt like it was the good old days, Just being out of Vegas and having that reaction from her fans. I'm not surprised Celine wants to return.

Does anyone still have the full show available anywhere? I have quite a few songs from it, but some are incomplete or missing. If there’s no complete version of I Drove All Night, I don’t personally care as we know It was not live. However, I don’t have open arms, was that even performed? Or Mr. Pagnini, the reason, James Bond medley, and I don’t have completes of any of the up-tempo except I’m alive. I can’t remember if how do you keep the music playing was sung that day. This is not necessarily a favorite concert of mine, but I do like this arrangement for I am alive, and PQTME was quite good as well, better than TC tour.

Unfortunately I was too young at the time to be able to watch the live stream, but I’m not even shocked by that. It would’ve been nice if there was professional footage of the full thing. Though if memory is correct, I believe we have most of beauty and the beast, a small clip of Mr. Pagnini and a couple other short clips.

I've desperately also wanted a full footage release from Celine's portion of this production, as we never got an official dvd/ album release from the 2011-2014 Caesars Palace run.

 

I believe SteadyImage were the production company handling the filming for the show. There would be footage in the vaults but I wouldn't know how to obtain it.

They probably need approval from Sony Music Canada and Celine's team to release the footage now.

Maybe worthwhile someone on here with experience contacting them through email or by Facebook, or if anyone with insider contacts that could nudge this a bit?
