Well there you have it, she could have easily killed THLAL. There is no doubt in my mind Celine can still deliver. I just do not approve of some of her choices sometimes.

 

Thanks for posting the soundcheck videos. Sure was a treat to hear her sing some of THLAL live. I guess the best solution is to buy a ticket for her soundcheck instead of the show.

 

Edit: Who is the guy in the white next to Barnev? Looks like he is also singing backup. Diana's backing singer perhaps?

The soundcheck vids just make me more upset because it's not like she sounds like Whitney Houston live and then has to lip to cover it up, she is perfectly capable of singing her songs and sounding great. The whole concept is crazy to me. I do have to say though she looks like a million bucks. She's absolutely gorgeous and the show outfits were great. Better than the Vegas show I think. She has a perfect set of legs!

It's such a shame because we can clearly see she can do it! But I really don't understand why sings live during soundcheck and later not:(

Summing up this whole event, I have to admit that it's great she does sth outside Vegas but at the same time I'm surprised that 1) she is allowed to do the Vegas setlist (it's not stated in conract?)... I mean not only does she sing the same songs but also with the same setting etc 2) she does this setlist (which she does every night) with only few additions, wouldn't be it funnier to do entirely different setlist to refresh and do sth different?

I hope she won't waste other gigs like this performing Vegas show and singing mostly in playback

I do not mean any disrespect, but what is wrong with people?! How can you say THLAL was lipped? Use your heads! First of all, its in a lower key than the record. It is lower that the 98 CD. So what is she lipping from? A different live recording where they happened to also lower the key? Also, do you realize how loud that stage is with all those instruments? There is no way she can hear herself sing without a monitor, and she wears in-ear monitors. She was signaling to a sound man to turn something up...maybe her own voice to hear herself better. It could have been the whole mix for all we know. Also... how the hell can someone lip sync to scat and ad libbed vocals that she does THROUGHOUT THE SONG? We are supposed to believe that she rehearsed so long that she remembers every little nuance that she did from a live performance long ago that was in a lower key? ALSO....when she sings live she tends to hold the mic to the side of her mouth...she is doing that because SHE IS SINGING IT LIVE. I am not in denial. I know she has lipped many times. This song was not lipped. Use your heads. She told that other singer that "tonight I'll do this verse" or something like that. Suddenly last minute she decided she was going to lip the song in a lower key from some other live performance???? USE YOUR HEADS!

 

You obviously have never seen/heard the Au cœur du Stade DVD. The playback track is the same. It is not the album version. AND no one has denied that IN PARTS she sang along with the track. Now if you want to hear the track LIVE, listen to the sound check.

I'd like to see this released. I know ya'll think OMG NO THEN WE WONT GET VEGAS DVD THEN... The crowd here was soooooooo amazing. Even if some songs are on a track, it's nice to hear the crowd enjoying it to and singing along, rather than acting like they're at a funeral.. It really does bring a different element. So for all of you who have been complaining about everything after the Memphis concert having no audience noise, here is a solution.

 

Not to mention the setlist is different, so they could release both if they wanted. Just wait another couple years for Vegas when she continues to make changes and then you'd have a difference of about 10 songs between the two (PQTME, IDAN, IA, THLAL, MJ Medley, Lullaby, Open Arms, DOL, plus anything that is added/dropped by the end of the show, which will be plenty I'm sure).

 

And maybe they don't have to release it on DVD, but if it airs on that HBO special like they typically do for this festival (I believe someone said that Maroon 5 also did NOT do live streaming, but I think they were on the HBO special)!

 

I'd just hate to think we have seen the last of the HQ footages.. I'm really hoping they release more, or put it out on DVD, or put it on HBO or something!

 

Edit....and did I mention she has NEVER looked better! She looked HOT.... release release release!

Hey everyone, just came back from Jamaica...

 

The show was absolutly amazing. Truly the best concert I've seen in my life. I have a lot o videos but the quality is pretty bad, i filmed some songs with my phone and the sound is terrible all we hear is people screaming.. and with another camera but it's a bit disappointing.

 

The crowd was the best ever, really magic... like a Jamaican ARRAS.

 

I was a few meters from the stage and I dont get the wardrobe malfunction everyone is talking about.. I was there and she was just sexy as hell. I have nothing to say, that woman is a legend..

 

On my flight from Miami to Jamaica, I was in the same plane than all of her team; Barnev, Elise, Michel Dion, Zhane, Andre Coutu, J-seb, Yves frulla, Denis Savage.. I couldn't stop smiling as they boarded the aircraft. Elise spoke to us as she noticed we spoke French, she was sooo nice. During the concert she recognized us and waved at us..

 

Everyone was talking about Celine there, I even bought a newspaper of her making the headlines , they kept playing her songs at the hotel, and the Jamaican people love her soo much , what a nice move from her team to go there..

 

I feel nostalgia and sadness now cause I know I will never see something like that in my life, that concert had nothing to do with Vegas or Montreal... The crowd made it Magic

Yep, that was me... I saw the festival on HBO, although I didn't see it all... And someone on the JJF's FB said that Maroon 5 did not do the live streaming...

 

I surely doubt it would be a DVD of Celine's performance ONLY... Maybe there'll be one of the whole festival... And it would be great if HBO do the editing and stuff to it And then, of course, air it !!

 

Edit: BTW, I'm now watching the rehearsal of THLAL and I got goosebumps !! LOVE THIS WOMAN !!!

Oh, I don't think that's gonna stop them... You know that they can edit that part and show the public or the musicians, or show it from a different angle

I don't think that you are allowed to film soundcheck since that's 'practice' and not the 'polished' version they want to show publicly. I saw camera cranes moving during it too but I would not hold my breath for pro shots from the soundcheck. As for any fan videos of soundcheck I would imagine that might also be audio only.

I've just watched the new videos posted today, The Reason and the James Bond Medley, and I LOVED IT!! I mean, TR took me back to the LTAL tour, incredible reaction from the audience!! I can't imagine how proud Celine should have felt at that moment. And then the 007 medley was amazing as well. First video footage we have from the complete medley, thanks to the fan who filmed and uploaded it! By the way, I loved how she was dancing during the instrumental parts of Live and Let Die, amazing little ad-lib she did at the end almost.

I no longer have to guess why Celine Dion made Caesars Palace in Las Vegas the top-grossing venue on the Billboard charts for five consecutive years, because the Canadian siren demonstrated at last Friday's edition of the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival that she knows how to capture and hold an audience.

 

She rocked the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium, where the audience sang along word for word. Old and young were on their feet singing at the top of their lungs. I was in awe, and I rank Celine's performance right up there with the great artistes I have seen over the years, including Tina Turner, Luther Vandross, Shirley Bassey, Beyoncé and Gladys Knight.

 

Not to diminish the performance of the other artistes who also delighted, but for Celine, the lights, the projections and her band did enough to get me into a frenzy even before she made her dramatic entrance on stage.

 

From her pitch-perfect voice to her fabulous outfits, the audience loved it all. The international superstar was beamed via big-screen televisions to the thousands who could not get near the stage. Among the special effects was a hologram of Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, beamed on stage to perform their award-winning duet the Prayer. Moments that will be remembered for a very long time.

I have to say, this setlist, we were complaining, including me.. but now I have so all these videos on youtube I can see this show rocked in every single way! Best concert I have seen of her in years! I even dare to say that I like this whole concert better than the taking chances worldtour dvd! Esspecially with this amaaaaaaazing audience! They just loose their mind . they sing along, they embraced her. And Celine enjoyed it and she gave her very very best! In the subtle things you hear she gave her all and sang every song live on stage.. I love love love love love it!

From the Vids i saw, i think they used the tour version video which is shown in the concert dvds, i dont think there was a hologram that night, it is purely for vegas
