I don't think that you are allowed to film soundcheck since that's 'practice' and not the 'polished' version they want to show publicly. I saw camera cranes moving during it too but I would not hold my breath for pro shots from the soundcheck. As for any fan videos of soundcheck I would imagine that might also be audio only.

Also most performers don't allow cameras at soundcheck or photos to be taken either.

I think we know where and if she does another world tour, where the show will be filmed. She does deserve crowds like that, and when they are active in the show so is Celine. Look at the Boston dvd it was HORRIBLE the audience reaction, well what part that was filmed in Boston. The audience just sat, granted they applauded, but it was just sit here and expect Celine to give a wonderful show. Not like her Montreal show or any of the other video bootlegs I saw.

Also you're comparing DVD footage to the bootlegs we've seen from Jamaica where the audio is raw. I would imagine they would have to tone down some of the audience reactions for DVDs. Even in the HD vid that was posted earlier the crowd doesn't seem as 'loud' as the ones taken by fans.

I do to also, I find the T.C. stage one of her bests. And the whole tour was wonderful it was just how the Boston audience acted through the concert. If I could have had the chance to see the tour, there would have been no way I would have sat down.

I mean come on it's Celine Dion, the only true "performer" that is better than Celine is Tina Turner, and even Tina gives major credit to Celine.

 

I guess I'm just one of those people who believe you don't sit down at a concert, now Las Vegas I understand that you sit down, but an arena like Boston should stand for a performer.

 

Look at the Amsterdam bootleg on youtube of T.C. the audience was very upbeat and excited.

I agree, they always lower the volume of the audience. But in a case like this, with this Jamaica audience..it would be great to hear them in thebackground and seeing them move to all the songs. Don't forget that the Taking Chances Worldtour dvd has way too much editing in it.

The audience noise has been turned down to an absolute minimum. Even soo much that you cannot hear them in a large part of the recordings!

But they, the soundengineers and productionteam of the dvd, should matter that it is a live concert. And shutting down the audience noises takes away that live feeling completely. Taking chances worldtour was amazing, great stage, great bootlegs, great costumes dance, visuals..but the endresult on dvd is slightly disappointing because they have turned a liveshow into a perfect studiorecording that lacks the atmosphere of a live concert. I bet this Jamaica concert in its exact setting would sell very well, because it makes people enthusiastic when you listen and watch it!

When highly regarded superstars live up to expectations while exuding a sophisticated air of class and ovation-worthy stage presence, it renews my faith in the power of the entertainment world to positively astonish. To that end, megawatt diva and iconic songstress Celine Dion, she of the wiry physique and multiple Grammys, delivered a mind-blowing set Friday night at the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival inside the Trelawny-based Greenfield Stadium, a venue that accommodated a massive crowd that only swelled as the hour of the songbird’s performance drew closer.

 

And what a performance – fuelled by standards and popular career hits made all the more exhilarating by the sheer vibrancy of Celine’s stagecraft, her adrenaline-infused zest and, of course, the magnitude of that voice. In short, it was a real thrill to finally witness Celine live in action. That it was her first time on a Caribbean stage made the occasion all the more special. As members of the audience, she captivated us and held us adrift in time and experience.

 

Hearing hits like “All Coming Back to Me,” “The Power of Love” and “The Reason” incited a mass sing-along. You couldn’t help but surrender to the raw passion and kinetic energy that the wonder woman exuded. The virtuosic performance also included such gems as “Because You Loved Me” and the breathtaking duet “Beauty & The Beast” before moving into a James Bond segment (“Goldeneye” and “Live and Let Die”) that included a wardrobe change from cream jacket and sparkling knickers to a shimmery silver gown with a seductive thigh-high split.

 

The show got even more enormously exciting with Celine’s renditions of “I’m Alive” and “All By Myself,” which came in for prolonged applause. But the show achieved a whole new crescendo when our very own Diana King joined the queen onstage for a sassy treatment of “Treat her like a Lady,” their 1999 hit. By this time, Celine had slipped into yet another outfit. This time a long-sleeved mini-dress encrusted with gems that dazzled under the lights.

 

Buoyed by the singer’s dazzling vocal dynamics and her backing band’s impeccable instrumentation, her songs took on a whole new resonance in live performance. Particular mention must be made of “Love Can Move Mountains” and the encore number “My Heart Will Go On.”

 

“This is the place to be,” Celine told the packed stadium at the start of her set. And she was indeed right. Those who were unfortunately away from the concert missed an experience worth remembering – and on an occasion that doesn’t get any more significant than the 50th anniversary of our Independence. Celine Dion memorably enticed us not only with her melismatic chops but with that confidently sexy strut as she made light work of the stage.

After finally being able to see the THLAL rehearsal, I'm 100% sure it was meant to be sung live, with Diane singing a big part of the song too... cos Céline says, I'll sing this line, you'll sing that line etc.... I dunno why it was changed, but I hope they had a good reason for it I wouldn't be surprised René would be behind it

 

I'm glad we got this rehearsal video, that makes up for it... a bit... The song does sound good with the extra trumpets etc... It's a shame we'll never ever hear it again

 

 

And thanks for the backstage vid! It's weird seeing it from aside! And so strange to hear the instruments that close... it sounds not harmonyious at all!

BTW about how people are singing along all the songs! I reminds me of the 90's when people were still so much into her, into each song, and just singing everything along! It's awesome Céline experienced this again; a smaller audience, a more one to one concert like pre LTAL.... Hopefully that changes her idea on performing and meaning not more Vegas years. Just a year off and then do a small world tour, in smaller venues! That would be heaven

She did sing few lines, bu she skipped A LOT of her lines. I think she only rehearsed this song for Diana.

Beauty and the beast was the best performed in my opinion, she had amazing vocals

So think what y'all wanna think of her and "lipping" but I know in my heart she's the best singer... No ifs ands or buts so spend your time insulting yourselves cause you're wasting it all on nonsense.

The reviews from Jamaican sources were FANTASTIC. They were really thrilled to have Celine there and it showed. The show had a FANTASTIC feeling around it. The energy was electric and Celine was a performer! They were there for her and it showed. It did look like her power house days in the 1990s. I, too, wish she'd play smaller shows again. Am I disappointed that she lipped? For sure. But that's a fact of Celine's live performances for many years now. Ah she sounded and looked AMAZING! That crowd was insane! Wish i could have been there! I looked through most of the pages but is there an audio version of the show? And, I missed the Red Heads thing on the soundcheck, does anyone know if there is a place to watch it?
