GoldenLeaf Posted June 4, 2008 at 04:58 PM Posted June 4, 2008 at 04:58 PM Mariah's career is as dead as the proverbial dodo. Exactly. That is why she is still breaking records. Her career is only still alive in the USA and dead in the rest of the world. It doesn't metter. USA is the biggest market. No it is not, there are artist such as robbie williams and anastacia who dont sell 1 copy in Usa but they have multi platinum albums(4-5 millions world wide)thanks to Europe or Asia for example! Yeah but there are artists who sell more than 5-6 millions only in USA and have multi platinum albums... Mariah, Beyonce... Asia + Europe = 2 continents, a lot more contries.sure! so Usa it's as big as Europe talking about marketI didnt say asia+europe i sais "or" BTW:08 CAREY*MARIAH E=MC2 35,581 -21% TOTAL 967,568 so she needs exactly 32,432 copies next week to reach 1 million!you're totally right VinnyT! and E=MC2 will never sells 5 millions in USA alone as it'll hardly reach 1.5 M Quote
Nikosn17 Posted June 4, 2008 at 04:59 PM Posted June 4, 2008 at 04:59 PM Yeah but there are artists who sell more than 5-6 millions only in USA and have multi platinum albums... Mariah, Beyonce...Those days are gone. 3M in the US nowadays is the biggest an artist can hope for.yes i agree 100% am... Beyonce sold more than 5 millions with B-day. Mariah sold more than 6 millions with TEOM. Quote
dj4celine Posted June 4, 2008 at 04:59 PM Posted June 4, 2008 at 04:59 PM I wonder how much Usher's new album would sell in the US with Confessions having sold over 9M there... and yes, Mimi still holds the record for the biggest debut of 2008. I don't think there are anymore big debuts this year other than Whitney (if it would be released as mentioned millions of times in the past 4 years ) Quote

dj4celine Posted June 4, 2008 at 05:04 PM Posted June 4, 2008 at 05:04 PM E=MC2 will never sells 5 millions in USA alone as it'll hardly reach 1.5 M uh-uh .... I predict atleast 2M in the US. But yes, 1.5M for TCh maybe... oh no... here I go again comparing the two albums Yeah but there are artists who sell more than 5-6 millions only in USA and have multi platinum albums... Mariah, Beyonce...Those days are gone. 3M in the US nowadays is the biggest an artist can hope for.yes i agree 100% am... Beyonce sold more than 5 millions with B-day. Mariah sold more than 6 millions with TEOM. That was two years ago and they both re-released the album and both had huge singles and tours for support. If E=MC2 reaches half of what TEOM sold, I'd be very glad Quote
Prince Whiskers Posted June 4, 2008 at 05:06 PM Posted June 4, 2008 at 05:06 PM am... Beyonce sold more than 5 millions with B-day. Mariah sold more than 6 millions with TEOM. I know, Nikos, but year after year , the impact of digital piracy increases DRAMATICALLY. Josh Groban's X'mas album was, I have to say, an aberration. 4M in 3 months! Ray Posted June 4, 2008 at 08:14 PM Posted June 4, 2008 at 08:14 PM I would never listen to this album if someone paid me a million pounds. Well, you are at least interested, as you reply here. Mariah announced that I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time will be the official 3rd single off E=MC2. So what happened to the "smash singles" SIL and ITC? I think Stay In Love and I'm That Chick will probably still be future single. Just as Migrate will also probably be a next single. There are just so many great songs on this album. Mariah said she wanted to release an album filled with singles and that's what E=MC² is. There are maybe only two or three songs which are not commercial enough to make it as a single. Loving u long time is a great song to be played on radio all summer long in my opinion! It's also a song that will be embrassed by non-Mariah fans. No high notes, no rapper. Very strong hook. My favorite at the moment is "For the record". Quote Céline Dion Mariah Carey Madonna Lara Fabian Debbie Gibson Wilson Phillips Linda Eder Tina Arena Martika

The source added: "Mariah is a massive world-wide star and her album sales in Ireland have been huge. We're in no doubt that the tickets will sell out extremely fast and there will be a massive demand from her fans." "She also wants to spend a few days in Ireland researching her ancestry and having a look around Dublin. This will be her biggest ever tour and she wants to break all the box office records." Black Kitten Posted June 5, 2008 at 07:14 AM Posted June 5, 2008 at 07:14 AM saying that TEOM topped the charts around the world is just simply untrue.
