The format icon claimed her first top 10 (and first of seven No. 1s) with "Dreamlover." Of the acts with at least 10 top 10s at the format, only Janet and R. Kelly have had head starts over Carey. One more thing talking about Mary j Blige and the promotion thing that sometimes doents work, giving credits to my theory( if someone doesnt want to buy a CD He will not buy it no matter it is xmas or easter or mother's day)

this is for sure, christmas season is always a huge factor of a big increase of album sales. no matter the artist and the album. jennifer lopez is just lucky enough to peak at #12 with her abum, cause if the album was released earlier this year, i'm sure it will debut at #30 or even lower. lucky celine, she had that chance.

My theory was if someone doesnt want to buy a cd they dont care it is xmas, so a cd sells during that period only if someone already wants to buy it no because it is xmas. Same for the promotion thing,Take a look at mary j blige her appearance on Oprah didnt work at all! no matter she sang her new single! Janet jackson last week promotion didnt work neither and she has already 4 singles out!

 

Once again Celine sells because she is celine! ONCE AGAIN her last 2 albums were released in march and she sold so so much!please dont find the xmas excuse to justify mariah's poor sales(mary j blige last album was released in xmas but we all know the results no matter her previous album was successfull!) ..come on!

Madonna is not selling so much in Usa but in the rest of the world YES! and it's not Xmas! come on!

I'm glad you like them. For me the accoustic ''Love Story'' version is better than the original. I don't think it's her best performance of this decade but probably one of the most enjoyable.

 

Speaking of great Mariah live performances during this decade I think it's the right time to promote my own video ''The Greatest Live Notes after 2000'' I made this video half a year ago so it doesn't include videos from the new era but I think it's a pretty good compilation. No lipped notes.

 

For me her best this decade so far were

, ''Vision Of Love'' (Live in Zurich, CB Tour 2003) , ''With You I'm Born Again'' (duet with John Legend Live at VH1 Save The Music 2005) and of course ''You And I'' (Live at Tribute To Stevie Wonder) (Altough some people say she sounds like a dead man but I think it's shows her great low register)

 

From this era I think we could add ''We Belong Together'' (Live at BET ''The Relativity Of Mariah'' Special) which I couldn't believe she sang 100% live, even the last note and again ''Love Story'' (Live at BET ''The Relativity Of Mariah'' Special).
