Sony precis to launch one single strong in the market so that TC goes up, I wait that the promotion in the Idols Give Back of the Celine helps it to promote it new single and album

I think it is. It took 20 weeks for the album to double its initial weekly sales when it was released in November. That's bad. That's really bad for a Celine release IMO. She's the 4th artist with the most album sold in the USA since 1990. That's bad!

I never meant that those positions are good, but I meant -11 is not that bad, because last week they showed the Oprah show with Celine, and this week, we had nothing. So comparing to some weeks ago, where she fell from #37 to #108, this downfall is still not dramatic.

But you are right, the general chart positions and sales for this album are really bad, and even more here in France than in the States...

Relax everyone!! TC is not doing that bad in the US. 1 million album is pretty good nowadays, and even better with an "average" 1st single. As someone wrote Rihanna had 3 (if not 4) hit singles, and she's sold 1.2 million albums... Selling 5 million is RARE nowadays... So we should all be happy that Celine has managed to sell 1 million albums with very little promo and not much airplay...

 

And the Tour hasn't hit the US yet. And hopefully Sony is waiting for Celine's North American leg of the tour to release the HOT singles - Fade Away, Eyes On Me... ****Let's hope anyway****

It's not a bad performance it's not a major success, it's an OK success. If we compare of course it appears bad and awful and of course Sony is not doing any big work. René should worry about Sony, not about Celine's capacity to sell albums.

Guys, they don't care about album sales. Celine cares about singing live in front of people on tour. Those are selling out. Record sales, she couldn't give a hoot about. Not one hoot. Sony doesn't seem to really care either. They don't need her to sell lots of albums. They have other artists. She sells just fine worldwide without them doing anything because she has such a strong fan base. Why the fans care whether or not she sells well is still way beyond me. I just like to listen to her sing. I could not care less what she sells.

Guys, they don't care about album sales. Celine cares about singing live in front of people on tour. Those are selling out. Record sales, she couldn't give a hoot about. Not one hoot. We care somewhat about her sales so she's still relevant in the music industry in terms of chart success. And we don't want other less talented divas to hit the top of the charts (Scarey or Madonna anyone?) while Celine still makes great songs but they don't get heard from the public (non fans)... and she doesn't get recognition for them.

A reedition (with MTMH+TRIGO+4 new tracks) is planned for release close to the start of the US tour. HOPEFULLY , better promotion and single election will resurrect the album.

VERY smart idea to re-relase the album coinciding with the North American tour. A timbaland production would be brillant! PLUS Map to my heart is one of the best tracks she recorded, I"m STOKED it's planned for a re-release!
