"Taking Chances" ALBUM on the charts

As per the latest IMI (Indian Music Industry) weekly sales newsletter to the registered stores, the special edition of ATW has done the trick again and sold over 200 copies last week which makes it re-enter the Top 100 at #89 in the International charts here in India. Sadly, no sign of TCH whatsoever

Taking Chances has been certified GOLD in Russia for 10.000 copies!

I don't know about Russia, but there are many countries where she is definetely overcertified.

Relax everyone!! TC is not doing that bad in the US. 1 million album is pretty good nowadays, and even better with an "average" 1st single. As someone wrote Rihanna had 3 (if not 4) hit singles, and she's sold 1.2 million albums... Selling 5 million is RARE nowadays... So we should all be happy that Celine has managed to sell 1 million albums with very little promo and not much airplay...

 

And the Tour hasn't hit the US yet. And hopefully Sony is waiting for Celine's North American leg of the tour to release the HOT singles - Fade Away, Eyes On Me... ****Let's hope anyway****

 

Rihanna shouldn't be compared to celine since RIhanna hasn't even sold more than her recent album.

 

Celine is on a different level, she was able to sell more than 30 million copies so 2.8 is just too little for her and the World Tour is the one that keeps her TC album selling, not the singles. A good single will really contribute to make her TC album a success.

Kylie is not a flop.

In the whole world they have talked about her comeback, even in the news shows.

Unfortunately , Celine comeback did not make so much noise I think.

YES,Here in Italy they played Minogue so much on the radio plus i saw the videoclips on TV 2-3 times ON MTV per day everyday no stop, She appeared on an important tv show here, and the album had a very very low debut and after 3 weeks it has left the charts!

the promotion is no other word then pathetic. Mariah's new cd didnt even drop yet, but the new single bye byes out...all the while the first single is sitting pretty at #1.

SAME HERE in Asia. To this day, Channel V is still promoting her album. Just imagine if Celine got the same promotion. I say 6M copies sold *to date*. What is Kylie's record label? Celine ought to go there.

Well, I consider singles and videos as part and parcel of promotion.

 

Boobsy Mimi has had a slew of no.1 singles partly because of free remixes and the fact that the album versions were sold at poop-cheap prices. TMB is killing in the charts not really bec. of its sales but on the strength of its airplay. Leona and Madonna actually sold more downloads this week.

 

If it cheers you up, there were MORE people who paid to see Celine in Australia this week than those who purchased TMB from iTunes.
