Prince Whiskers Posted March 14, 2008 at 07:56 AM Posted March 14, 2008 at 07:56 AM You don't see the importance of shipped copies, celinefanlux? Celine being able to attract all those wholesale buyers just goes to show that she's still considered by the retail business as a commercial force to reckon with, with or without a hit single. Besides, every recording co. reports its sales based on shipments. Do you really think the 200M albums that Celine has sold pertain to the exact no. of albums in the hands of the fans? Think again. RLAAMJR. Posted March 14, 2008 at 07:58 AM Posted March 14, 2008 at 07:58 AM Ive been reading through the comments and some of you seem to think the album is a flop but looking at the sales and shipments i think the album did pretty well oh well thank God im not the only one who thinks this album is still a success. Do you consider this album a success when it hasn't even reached or just reached 1 million copies sold in U.S.?To other artists, it is a success but TC is a Celine Dion album. If you check the album sales of Celine's english albums, most of them reached more than 10 million copies. But like what I've mentioned earlier, it still is too early to conclude whether this album is a flop or not. But if we're just gonna talk about its status right now, it's a flop. Let me remind you again, it is easy for a Celine Dion english album (with new songs and for all ages ) to sold 5 million albums especially if they're doing something about it. The sales is moving slowly compared to what she can do before. Don't tell me somebody here thinks this album wouldn't even reach 5 million albums sold. Now com'on, this is Celine Dion album. Quote
Black Kitten Posted March 14, 2008 at 08:06 AM Posted March 14, 2008 at 08:06 AM i don't know. i think nobody can make me change my mind about this. this is not a flop. im done. Quote

Besides, every recording co. reports its sales based on shipments. Do you really think the 200M albums that Celine has sold pertain to the exact no. of albums in the hands of the fans? Think again. Guess what? we know that Celine is still a force to reckon with, but not as strong as before. Well, I won't really expect her to be as strong as before but at least just a little less stronger than before. If we talk about D'elles, it is a flop but if we compare it to other frnech albums, it has sold more copies than most french albums. But if we compare D'elles to Celine's previous french albums, D'elles is considered a flop though it has sold well in Canada and France. Now i say flop to the 2 Celine Dion albums according to it's current status. If it's status change in the future, my opinion will also change. Hopefully, my opinion will change. Michael Buble's album reached only 4 millions albums but it is a hit album and not a flop because he is consistent when it comes to album sales on each of his albums and people know his songs. Look at Rihanna, her new album is a hit because it's her best-selling album. I'll give you an example: if Juan Tamad had 5 albums each selling near or a little more than 500,000 copies, and then released his 6th album reaching a million copies, is his album a hit or a flop? if Juana Tamad had 5 albums each selling near or a little more than 8,000,000 copies, and then released her 6th album reaching 5 million copies, is her album a hit or a flop? amless Posted March 14, 2008 at 10:32 AM Posted March 14, 2008 at 10:32 AM TOTAL : Celine Dion Taking Chances : 2.521.000 , with 7.5% = 2.710.075 . http://www.worldwidealbums.net/ And i think that she sold about 29.000 in the world this week. This would make a total of : 2.550.000 , with 7.5% 2.739.000 .(it's not official lol) I think that it's not a success but it's not a flop too and in 3 weeks i think that she will sell more that 2.800.000. I just hope she will sell more than 3.000.000. Quote NEW WEB SITECELINE DION CHARTS

Black Kitten Posted March 19, 2008 at 02:35 AM Posted March 19, 2008 at 02:35 AM i think TC is out of the top 100 in the US this week. the chart is dominated by mostly RnB albums. even the huge AS I AM is out of the Top 10 according to Hits Daily Double. Quote

emi&celine Posted March 19, 2008 at 09:33 PM Posted March 19, 2008 at 09:33 PM Well...3rd week in a row at the top of the International Chart, and a GOLD certification for next week. Moreover, have you noticed that Celine has the two most sold albums in that Top-20?Well done Celine Quote
Shaun Posted March 19, 2008 at 11:26 PM Posted March 19, 2008 at 11:26 PM It's clear that sales are following Celine wherever she goes. The album rocketed back up the charts in South Africa when she was there and now similarly in Japan now she has been there. That is bad news for Europe and the USA however as she wont hit those shores for months yet and the album is already dead in most places. Sad that her record company cant keep the momentum going in her absence. They've had their chances. Where's the Will.I.Am duet? Where exactly is "Alone" being serviced to radio? Are we going to see any further TV ads? Sadly it looks like "Taking Chances" is finished. Black Kitten Posted March 20, 2008 at 12:05 AM Posted March 20, 2008 at 12:05 AM at least before TC disappears completely on the charts in the US, it has been certified Platinum, which is not bad for an album that doesn't have a Top 50 single. Quote
Kyle_Jared Posted March 20, 2008 at 12:10 AM Posted March 20, 2008 at 12:10 AM Its sad they've let such a friggin long period pass before they released a second single......I mean still nothing in the U.S......but they've done this to her stuff for YEARS, however with that being said, I do believe we can't write it off yet...she still has close to a year of touring. It'll rise again. wait and see............ Quote
