So they are singing it without a reason? Celine's music is in the film. And It's All Coming Back is a hit, the cast sang it,maybe it's there..still hoping to see Courage in it.

 

We will never know. Maybe they are just having fun and it just pops up to their heads to sing IACBTMN.

 

But i remember someone said that there’s a new song for this movie and Céline is the one singing.

Don’t we know that this movie is a remake of a foreign film? Celine is playing herself because it’s her (the singer in the film) music that either the couple loves and/or helps them get back together? I’d assume they’d be using all of her nostalgic hits for the movie in that case. They wouldn’t use tracks the general public wouldn’t know

Both the characters love Celine Dion, they never said anything about "nostalgic hits". Courage fits properly and seeing the half promotion and injustice it got due to COVID, Team Celine might give it to the movie.

I don’t know. This movie is also produced by Sony Pictures, so who knows maybe Celine’s part will be a hologram of her sining “immortality” with herself from Vegas a few years back. …….

She might have a smaller role, obviously, but I think her significance is throughout the film so the film is still a jolly thing to watch.

More importantly, her youth. Historically, women over fifty aren’t exactly offered the best roles, unless you’re Meryl Streep or Frances McDormand. I hope she does act more in the future, but she will most likely be limited on what she’s offered.

Am I the only one who really doesn't want to see Céline act?! I'm happy to see her get more exposure and really hopeful we might get a new track out of the soundtrack, but I'm pre-cringing already. I just don't think she has that talent - she's a born performer, not an actress. Her personality is too outsized for her to fit herself into a different character (many hugely successful musicians have this problem, e.g., Madonna - but she keeps trying, bless her heart), and subtlety is not exactly her forte. I also don't want her to act A LOT. Like she did fashion, Celine has a problem that when she likes something or starts doing something, she forgets singing. As much as I hope these films and documentaries will give us new music, but something is telling me that Celine will focus on films now.

The only movie she's acting in at the moment is Text For You, the other is a documentary about her singing career and life. Next year she'll be busy finishing CWT. If she acts again it'll probably be until 2023.

 

 

If she's a good actress it won't be hard to get through the whole "that's Celine Dion as that character" thing imo. Gaga was able to do it and I'd say she's more eccentric than Celine. Also, she acknowledges this "issue" of being a big name in music by wanting to start in secondary roles.

 

Any actor in a poorly fitting role, no matter how good they are, will stick out. So if in the future she gets more roles they'll hopeful suit her well. She also doesn't have to just act in Hollywood, she could do french films.

 

I would love to see her land some good roles because this is something she's been talking about & wishing for her whole career. I love movies and TV shows so I would be super happy to see her crossover into that industry. BUT, until we see her steadily booking roles (where she's not even playing a fictionalized version of herself) I'm seeing this movie as a one off.

Well, I think she didn't like acting as much as she says on interviews. Maybe Rene didn't like her doing films. So uptil 2016 she didn't have any option than rejecting them.

I think the problem with Celine is that she keeps thinking that she is not good enough and has to take small steps first. She underestimates herself tremendously

The problem is she is so busy with her music career. If she wants to have a acting career. She should balance it. If she wants acting. Stop accepting projects (music, tours, residency shows) and focus on acting. That’s what other celebs do including Gaga.

Yea like I have saying about this "movie role" all along, DONT BE SURPRISED ITS A CAMEO! I suspect with this role in "Text For You", we are going to get "Muppets 2.0", "The Nanny 2.0", & "Touched By An Angel 2.0" with this (& for those fans who are reading this & dont know much about the aforementioned roles I just mentioned, in all 3 of them Celine had played HERSELF in VERY brief cameos where she was on the screen for only about 5-10 seconds each lol!)

 

So that is why, although a part of me wants to be excited about this, but another part of me will a little bit scared to feel the dreaded disappointment if it is indeed just another brief cameo appearance, (just like I was during "Muppets", I went to the movie theater to watch it (with my bf & my 2 kids who were toddlers back then who pretty much fussed during most of it by the way,) & I ONLY WENT TO SEE IT CAUSE OF CELINE...

 

& I was VERY DISAPPOINTED when Celine finally appeared @ the VERY END of the movie & she was on the screen for only 5 seconds! To me that was a waste of time & money (as movie tickets in the U.S. are around $10 PER PERSON nowadays, & sorry as much as I liked the Muppets as a kid in the 80s & 90s, the "Muppets Most Wanted" movie kinda sucked lol, sorry I was not much of a fan of it... )

 

Sorry but I just do not have high hopes for "Text For You", I do hope to be wrong about this & Celine does have a decent role in it, but I do smell another "Muppets" appearance happening... Hence why this time around I WILL NOT be going to the movie theaters to see this movie & wait for it to be released on DVD/Amazon/Google Play or wherever (unless you all say on here that its a good movie & not a lousy movie lol, & Celine has a MUCH DECENT role in it instead of a 5-10 second cameo lol!) 🙏😜

I think most of the roles offered must have been musical in some form. She mentioned being offered the role of Edith Piaf in that clip, she's talked about being asked to play Maria Callas in some movie that never happened. And part of me suspects that joke about coming back as a Bond girl had some truth in it but it never happened. I doubt she's been rejected, unless she's had auditions which I highly doubt. People of her status aren't put through as much as unknown actors in order to get roles.

 

I really do think it's a matter of being focused on her music career. Rene kept her busy, I suspect he insisted she prioritize touring over trying out acting. And that is very unfortunate. Now that she is older she likely gets less significant offers so she continues to focus on performing.

 

I would love for her to keep the ten shows and then a few months off pattern after she finishes CWT. That way she can either do other things (albums, acting, etc) or rest her voice well between residency shows.

 

I would love her role in TFY to be an actual acting opportunity (even if she is playing herself). But if it turns out it's a cameo I'd rather it be more like what she did in The Nanny or that soap in the 90s than the Muppets.
