Personally, I'm more excited about the prospects of continuing the Celinaissance with all this screen time action. At least with this film we can safely bet it will eventually be distributed on one of the streaming platforms. I'm not so sure about Aline - I'm not sure anyone has picked it up. If Netflix picked it up... that would be a dream.

 

So... conditionally if Netflix or HBO or some big player picked up Aline, that's the only way it could be more exciting at this point for me than TFY. I mean, we really still know so little about TFY. The mystery makes it more exciting!

She was asked about acting in the early 90s in some interview and she had a look of determination so fierce and said "I think I can do a good job, I know I can", or something along those lines. So I believe her. Her biggest hindrance is the accent, so.....let's call up her old Berlitz teacher!

 

 

I don't need her to have a whole acting career, just slay this role. She should call up Rosie O'Donnell and get the industry people moving on this one.

I was more excited when this role was first announced but it did lose some punch when I heard she was playing herself. I will still watch it though.

I’m not particularly excited about Text for You but it’s still better than nothing. I’m actually glad she’s playing herself since I don’t find the prospect of a true acting career for Céline very compelling. As for Aline, no excitement whatsoever. Céline is still very much alive and on top of her game, why would I want to see an actress playing a fake Céline with a storyline similar to hers yet not factually accurate? Also, we have so much good footage of the real Céline’s life and career, most of which was really not that long ago. Maybe in 30 years I’ll be excited by a biopic (provided it’s one approved and endorsed by Céline’s team, with a big budget and good production) but now, not at all.

I find it hard to believe that she wrote/will write it herself. I think she might sing it but it will most likely be written by someone else, and the production will characteristically be horrible. As couldawouldashoulda wrote in the post below mine, it will probably be one (or more) of her hits that gets featured in the movie.

I don't think we've had any sort of confirmation that there will be any sort of new music for Text For You. If Celine is playing herself, we'll most likely just get one or more of her hits used in the film. You never know though - they may want a new song for the end credits so it can be eligible for an Oscar.

For a bio-pic on Celine, they would really have to delve into the nitty gritty. Celine would have to approve getting super personal about Rene’s fight with cancer, the time she took off from Vegas to care for him and prepare for his transition. We all know the fairytale of her career and where she came from, but these days; just that is not compelling enough for a movie to make money. We have to know the good, the bad and the ugly. Not just the glitter and fulfilled dreams.

I'm hoping they're able to include Celine's cover of Wicked Game in this film.

It really deserves to be heard by more people.

I think it's one of her best English recordings in recent years.

I watched Ryan Reynolds movie "Free Guy" last night. I loved it.

 

In the movie Mariah's song Vision of Love (I think that was the song) plays a specific role and is recurring. I imagine that Celine's music will be used in a similar manner, but even more prominent (so much the movie requires her physical appearance), in Text For You.

 

I only wish the movie wasn't romantic drama since I'm not huge on the romance movie genre. I do enjoy them on occasion, especially if they are Comedies. Hopefully the movie is good, if only because I want Celine to have good promotion. The more positive reviews for the movie the more it gets seen and the more eyes/ears on Celine.

 

On a separate note, it seems Ryan has a thing for 90s music/artists. Fingers crossed for Celine to record a song & video for Deadpool 3, maybe even get a good cameo.

So they are singing it without a reason? Celine's music is in the film. And It's All Coming Back is a hit, the cast sang it,maybe it's there..still hoping to see Courage in it.
