New Las Vegas residency show!

The theater looks really small! It must be a great experience to have the artist so close to you. I’m sure the technology in there is amazing once everything is dark and a show starts. Still, I prefer the Cesars Palace venue. It’s warmer, more welcoming and feels comfortable. Edited November 30, 2021 at 10:27 AM by ryba

I too hope there’s a way out of the Resorts World deal. If she’s going to perform in Vegas one of the “grander” hotels really does suit her more. Venetian, Paris, Bellagio etc.

Why should she get out of this deal? Just because the location is not the prettiest?

I think a lot of people forget she had a lot of say in the final design of the theater. Idk if she got to pick colors, etc but she did help with overall design (per the interview the president gave a month before the hotel opened). CP was just over 4K seats. This theater has 5K. CP was designed so that the farthest seats weren't more than x-amount of feet away from the stage/artist. My guess is she wanted that same intimacy here because she loves that. Colors aside, this is almost identical in design to CP, just slightly more seats. I'd hardly think if she put that much thought into this she'd just back out for the sake of backing out. There'd have to be a bigger reason for her risks to millions for breach of contract...just putting that out there.

I was actually just at RW this evening, and man, is it ever sleepy… they really need some umph to draw in the crowds. Sure, a few more places open now since my last visit but that didn't really do much to liven the place up.

I don’t know if she is sick or not but there is clearly an issue with RW. It s gonna cost her a lot I guess is she is trying to get out of the contract.

As long as the theatre is comfortable (including comfy seats!!) with amazing sound and technology, I wouldn't have a problem just going there for a Celine show and then staying at a different hotel.

It’s only just rumors. People are still starting rumors since she cancelled so unexpectedly. It’s the same thing as people saying she’s sick worse off then she said. I highly doubt she cancelled since she was so excited to go to the theatre, had an integral part in designing, was going to open it originally, and remember she even planned that commercial. She’s obligated by contracts to do a certain number of shows in Vegas anyways.

Well, Adele just dropped news of her residency at the Colosseum. I bet Celine will go see her!!! In the house she built and one of her favorite artists! Let’s hope she will be well enough to go see her!

I tried to hear Adele's new album, I had to stop after some minutes. She used to have good songs.

 

I don't see Celine going to any live concerts, hope Celine will do better in the next months.

The rumor going around I thought was the $$$ wasn’t there for what she wanted. There’s that rumor that they tore up the state after building elements for Adele and/or Garth Brooks after they supposedly bailed out of RW.

 

That being said, Celine wouldn’t go back to Caesar’s I don’t think. Her touring management company moved out of Caesar’s so logistically I don’t see how she could go there. Bellagio or Venetian would be good, but I’ve got a feeling it’ll still be RW.

Well, Vital Vegas was the first to report about Céline signing with RW, about a year before anyone else reported it. Same with the Adele residency at Caesars; VV was first to report on that, too. (And Buble, though that’s not officially announced yet.)

I don’t know their sources, but so far everything I’ve seen from them has come to pass as reported. So far they’re only reporting on speculation re. Céline cancelling, but still, that’s not nothing.

I feel like Celine’s camp is just not saying anything about it to be silent for whatever reason, but the press is having a heyday with all these speculations. Sooner or later we need some sort of statement. I really wonder what their plans are as far as RW is concerned.

I just checked ticket sales for Carrie Underwood's opening night tomorrow. There are still loads of tickets left almost everywhere except front orchestra. Not sure how popular she is. But this may just a really bad time to start a residency.

I feel like perhaps Resorts World is a frontier hotel, because eventually other hotels will develop around it as Vegas continues to grow. So in 10 years perhaps, it won't seem as out-of-the-way. It's part of the Vegas of the future.

What has always been interesting to me is their use of the word "unforeseen" with respect to her medical issue/spasms. How far in advance of the opening date do they have to be for them to be "unforeseen"?

 

And how does that work with the contract. Because Resorts World wants their money, so they are going to be sure to get the legal fault correct with respect to her pulling out.

Would that mean she isn't sick? I wonder if Celine is trying to somehow cut out of the contract that she was sued about.

 

If she isn't sick then it's somewhat of a relief and also the biggest fake calling in sick to work lol. But if she is planning on never performing at RW but is sick then I wonder what has caused her to rethink her deal at RW. Perhaps intuition or a 6th sense about this venue.
