All I can think of is Prince and how his performing and dancing around in heels for his fans was part of the reason he ultimately died so young. Thanks to his injuries.

You may be into something… who knows? Even Celine said back in 3 Boys and a New Show that she had to get used to them again. Remember the scene after the first rehearsal in Vegas? She said to Rene something along the lines of “I’ve got to get used to being on heels again, it’s awful.” So I think you do raise a valid point.

I Completely forgot about this scene in 3 boys and a New Show, have to rewatch it, it's been a while .

One year ago, the boss I used to have, had serious knees problem and muscle spasms. He was only 36 , but there were days when he couldn't even walk 'cause it was really painfull for him (so imagine if you have to go on stage). He needed a surgery, recovery break + reeducation. It took something like 3 months I think.

Maybe if that's the case with Celine, cancelling the show until january doesn't look that worrying ? (If we take the situation under this angle of course, not saying I'm right, just supposition, but that would explain the long recovery)

 

Let’s say that’s right. That would fit the timetable. If she had corrective surgery, and there’s a 3 month recovery, that gets us to February, with time to rehearse and be back on stage by March 8 in Denver. Time will tell.

Having gone to spend part of the summer in Quebec with her children, her famous 53-year-old sister told her that she had leg cramps, "a kind of sprain in her feet that caused muscle spasms in her leg."

 

“She was so looking forward to her new show that she was almost constantly working on it. I think she's pushing a little hard and her muscles are talking to her. Céline wants to give more than the machine allows, I know she asks for a lot, but we love her too! I think she'll be a little late, but she'll be here."

 

“This is not the first time this has happened to her. Céline is a performer, she gives 110%. She needs to take a few days off, learn to listen to herself and not push the machine too hard.

Where’s the update though? It’s literally a reworded version of her first blurb to the media about Celine’s illness.

We don't know that the videos/concerts are already edited. They may have edited quick 1 to 2 min sections to put on social media or to give to news programs to use but that doesn't mean they went to the trouble of editing the entire concert.

 

And the fans are doing a perfect job of creating videos themselves. What more is needed when the fan base can just do it themselves?

Not a chance. If the theatre wasn’t ready Celine wouldn’t release a statement saying she had health issues. They would say ‘unforeseen circumstances’ or something similar.

 

Celine is not going to accept responsibility for the theatre if it’s delayed.

It doesn't make much sense to claim that the theatre wasn't ready when her band was reportedly physically inside of it rehearsing. In the very microscopic chance something like that were true, which I doubt, they would have to pay Celine a lot of money for such a screwup.

Hey guys, I have a VERY SCARY but could possibly happen scenario in my mind & I am curious as to what the rest of you think...

 

What if Celines health is REALLY WORSE THAN WE ALL THOUGHT & that she might NOT EVER COME BACK TO SINGING... I knowit is a really big "what-if" scenario, but again seeing as we are REALLY LIMITED in the facts of her current health conditions & that we have had NO UPDATES of her health since then...

 

I really do have the feeling that her health is really NOT GOOD & could be the only reason why so many months of shows have been cancelled @ this point (& we really dont know if the "Courage World Tour" dates next year will happen, they might get cancelled as well!) 😞💔

 

So what do you all think of the possibility that Celine might never come back to performing?

May I ask where did you hear she got surgery or is going to have surgery?

 

Just wondering as we have had NO UPDATES @ all since the announcements of the cancellations over a month ago... & as I have had muscle spasms myself & my own mother has had them, neither of us have had to have actually surgery... Now we both had physical therapy & a fewshots to deal with the spasms (we had spasms in our necks & backs,) but no surgeries... If Celine is going to need surgery, it must be REALLY BAD... because usually spasms dont require major surgeries... 😰😞

My guess is that she is in a menopause phase should have hit at 51 but it hit her at 53: getting menstrual cramps and hot flashes (my guess); that's why she is a little bit off the radar because she is adapting to her new body and getting the help she needs. I don't think it has anything to do with being overworked as she did not do a show in forever. I found it strange, these are her siblings. And Michel obviously the other who has worked as Celine’s stage manger for a very long time, who also has recently retired according to Claudette.

I saw the movie tonight in Montreal with my mom and she loved it . She said she would even give it a 10/10 . From my point of view , I thought it was great entertainment but it really felt ackward watching a movie about Celine without ever feeling her spirit/aura. There are a lot of funny scenes but the playbacks and performance scenes are just awful for me.

 

The French makeup artist is the fictionnal part that is the absolute worst addition in the film.

 

I had a great evening but it made me miss Celine even more. The movie is awesome for what it is .. a work of fiction but there is no reason to have some songs coming back 2-3 times .. this must be again for budget reasons.

 

I still think Celine deserves nothing under Bohemian Rapsody standards but I'm thankful this French proposition exists even with all the obvious flaws.

Yeah, and you can see some aspects of the situation she's in have been stressful even early on, I can only imagine what it's been like since she became uber-famous and uber-rich. (I'm referring specifically to the Lise Payette interview from 1992, where she talked about how it's hard to have siblings call all the time asking for money for a broken washing machine or car or whatever, how she had to start referring them to her accountant. And that was in 1992. Imagine what it's like now!)
