So, what's the one song Celine has performed in the past that would leave you gobsmacked if she brought back from the grave? For me, it has to be "Love By Another Name." I just can't see the song ever getting resurrected.

I love that song! To be honest she had such fun performing that one, that I would be more suprised if she brought other songs back.

 

Off the top of my head I would say if she brought "Did You Give Enough Love" I would be the most shocked.

Yep! And in fact they did play TTWII right before we boarded to! I just got back home, we took the red eye home. Can’t believe I’m already back, but when Celine announces the rescheduled dates, I’m there!!

I wasn’t planning on it for this show, but now that it’s rescheduled I may change my mind. I will try to go to opening night whenever that happens. Based on her schedule if all is well l, my guess is October of next year she will start up.

That’s what I’m guessing. Either that or the first week of November. I suspect they’ve already got preliminary dates down to work around the headliners already there, they just aren’t going to announce them anytime soon. Now with Bublé in the mix, there’s 5 headliners so it’s a bit to juggle. I really hope this doesn’t have a no touring clause, because with 5 headliners it’s not like there won’t be somebody at the theatre at least a few weeks out of each month.

If I recall correctly when she canceld Vegas and the Asia tour they announced why they did. So the public did know.

 

Yea but I remember that it was NOT KNOWN RIGHT AWAY that it was Renes cancer returning (& being terminal) being the reason of her going on that very sudden out-of-the-blue hiatus starting in August 2014...

 

Now on social media @ that time (I mean on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, etc, now with this forum I HAVE NO IDEA what everybody was thinking/feeling as I was NOT a member here yet until last year 2020, so I can not say what was happening HERE back then,) I remember on social media many of us (including myself,) were speculating the reasons of all of the 2014 & 2015 show cancellations that maybe the reason was due to Rene having cancer & it could have gotten really bad again (since he had it in the end of 2013/beginning of 2014.)

 

But we DID NOT have any confirmation straight away from Celine or her Team on social media... During the first few months of the hiatus (August to December 2014,) Celine & team were VERY SILENT & we didnt hear anything from them. Then it was in February/March 2015 when we had FINALLY heard from Celine, when she did the interview for "Good Morning America" (& it was the LAST appearance of Rene during the backstage scenes, God bless his heart & soul...) & Celine had told the world what was going on with Renes health, which had confirmed some of our suspicions about why she cancelled everything in 2014-2015 & went on that hiatus. So @ first we DID NOT hear anything from Celine & company... but it was MONTHS LATER when we did hear something...

 

So I am thinking/feeling we are going to go through the same thing this time around, Celine & her team are right now just saying about the Muscle Spasms, but we might find out later on that something more could be going on as far as her health situation, & they might not know how to tell everybody. 😔😞

She can’t stop everything without losing lots of money because of her contract with AEG. She’ll eventually have to come back and perform. Maybe she’ll have to make it a more stripped down show where she sits a lot? Maybe four months of physical therapy will have her back in top shape.

 

I would bet all the money I have though that, once her current contract is up, she’ll make fewer appearances and won’t perform giant tours anymore. Think more Streisand - a 25 city world tour with $1500 ticket prices.

 

We might get more albums though if she can’t perform as much. If she can’t run around a stage, she can sit and record.

 

Speaking of the whole sitation (the "performing on stage vs. recording more albums" situation I mean,) in YOUR honest opinion, do you think that if Celine was in the position down the road where she CANNOT do as many concerts or Vegas Residencies as she usually has been over the years, that she will either:

 

1. Actually record more albums than she has been (more than a new English album once every 6 years or so & a new French album once every 6 years or so lol...) Or...

 

2. Just quietly "semi-retire" & retreat into hiding (which is kind of what she CURRENTLY DOES these days, especially since last year when the pandemic started,) where we only get appearances from Celine once in a great blue moon...

 

In MY OPINION, even though I would REALLY LOVE option #1, I do REALLY FEAR that option #2 will MORE LIKELY happen...

 

Because I just feel that Celine DOES NOT like to record albums, & it could be more of a reason that it is a contract she has with Sony Music is why she even records albums @ all (which is why we have been getting new albums only once every 6 years since 2007 which is almost 15 years ago!)

 

& with the last 2 English albums, "Courage", & "Loved Me Back To Life", being FLOPS when it came to sales, (& lets face the facts, the sales of either album was NOT so great,) it looks like Sony is not really pushing for Celine to record more albums, & with Celine appearing to not have much interest in recording them... I am VERY MUCH doubtful that we will be getting more albums from Celine down the road, even if she can not permorm on stage much... Again this is just my opinion, I am rather curious about what everybody else thinks/feels on this discussion that is all... 😊👍

I know the topic is not about that, but I'm finding all this silence about Celine's health condition strange, I have nothing to do with it, but I'm a fan and I'm worried.

Now there is news that these spasms are caused because of her malnutrition.

There's no way to get reliable information on her condition other than her, her team, or her siblings. All there is out there is tabloids, the same sources that called Pepe her boyfriend.

 

CNN Brasil reportedly repeated the rumours. Which doesn't make them true, it just means CNN Brasil wanted clicks on their website

As for her illness, I suspect we will hear nothing more about it until either she's healed or it's March 2022 and she's supposed to do the CWT and she's forced to make a statement. (Although they could always blame Covid for postponing CWT again.)

I feel like I have zoned out with covid recently. What is happening around Europe with gigs etc? Wondering what the likelihood of the CWT being moved again is. In Ireland gigs are back to full capacity in door but a covid cert is needed for entry.

In other news, the long-abandoned, on-again/ off-again Fountainbleu just north of Resorts World is on again (LOL) so hopefully that bodes well for that part of the strip. Slated to open in last quarter of 2023.

Whoopi Goldberg was absent from The View once for several months. They just kept saying she had pneumonia and was resting at home. Once Whoopi came back, she told the true story - she almost died and was in ICU for weeks.

If people knew Rene had cancer, they wouldn't have been up in arms. Same in the case of promo....if people knew Celine had a health issue, they wouldn't have wondered about the lack of promo from ResortsWorld.

 

Without having known, I don't blame people for being up in arms.

And trust we'll know what they want us to know, when they want us to know it. Wasn't trying to attack anyone. Just say that sometimes, as fans, we feel like we're owed more information than we really are. Whatever is going on, we're never going to be privy to every single last detail. She's said many times over the years she knows she's not going to make everyone happy 100% of the time so she just does what is right for her at the time. Many other artists don't share nearly as much as about themselves as she has throughout her career. And she's at a point now where she's not concerned about charts. Or social media. She just records and performs because she still has a passion for singing. Many by the time they reach her age are just done. If she was just starting her career, I'd expect to see more. But she's not. And she's said as much many times. Idk why we keep expecting something that's just not going to happen.

 

And, again, that's not meant to attack other fans who want more. We'd all love more. But I also think if we just wrap our heads around this is just how it is now, many could save themselves a lot of grief. But I can't make that decision for anyone else. That's a choice they make. And continue to make. And continue to complain. Instead of just being glad she's still out there doing anything. We could have easily seen her retire for good a while ago. But we haven't.
