sarit_celine Posted December 8, 2022 at 01:38 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 01:38 PM You know what grinds my gears, Céline's "doctor" who spewed out boulleshitte. You know what else? The claiming that she was starting a French album. All of that gave us hope that all was getting better and now this. And her sister too. A new day... Posted December 8, 2022 at 01:45 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 01:45 PM In my opinion, and after reading a few articles about SPS, I'm pretty sure this is the beginning of the end of her performing/on-stage career. Hopefully she'll find the ability and strength to record new music again, and keep singing. But this is such a terrible news, and I can't understand how the official posts focus on the postponement/cancellations instead of her diagnosis. It's obvious that this tour needs to be put to an end so that Celine can focus on getting better, for her own sake. She already gave us so much. I can't even imagine what she's been through those last few years... 4 Quote
scielle Posted December 8, 2022 at 01:49 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 01:49 PM Recording she might do. If she has a good day, can do multiple takes, etc.But performing? That would take a cure and it seems dealing with this diagnosis is all about managing symptoms and delaying its progress so sounds like she won’t be quite the same again…And performing was not only her livelihood but the biggest joy. It must pain her so much to not know if she’ll be able to do it again. Or maybe deep down she knows and is just not ready to face it… 😞 5 Quote
CelineDionFreak Posted December 8, 2022 at 01:50 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 01:50 PM I honestly wonder if it would be better for her to do recorded albums and one off shows on TV or something until she can get better. With a recording, she can go in and do multiple takes. Take the time she needs to get it just right. Man I really do hate this. Not the news I wanted to hear right now. But Celine has always said to live for today, because we cannot change what happened in the past and are unable to shape the future entirely. It’s about how we live through what life imposed on it. I sincerely want to think, as she says so well, the best is yet to come. 3 Quote I didn't know love until they loved me back to life because somebody loves somebody!Le temps qui compte pour Celine est maintenant!
Popular Post Shamrock_1982 Posted December 8, 2022 at 01:50 PM Popular Post Posted December 8, 2022 at 01:50 PM (edited) The initial shock has gone and as I said before I’m hopeful but there’s a niggling feeling that if she ever does perform again it will be very different but not in a bad way for me anyway. She could just be sat on a stool throughout the show, no costume changes, a small band and more time for her to talk to the audience. I’m just so glad thanks to Stevo that I got the very last minute chance to see her in Hyde Park at such a special and different show and the last time she performed in the UK. She looks scared but also so determined at the same time in the video… Céline you have got this and we have got you! Edited December 8, 2022 at 01:52 PM by Shamrock_1982 11 Quote
ryba Posted December 8, 2022 at 01:57 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 01:57 PM (edited) Poor Celine. I wonder what caused her condition. I suppose that it has been the stress and pressure that she has had all her life. There is only so much a human body can handle, and we know that Celine had an unbelievable work ethic. This might be the consequence. I so hope that she recovers soon. Her health has absolute priority right now. Edited December 8, 2022 at 01:57 PM by ryba Quote

No1IrishFan Posted December 8, 2022 at 02:08 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 02:08 PM If she wasn’t improving they would cancel the tour surely? I couldn’t care less about the tour now but if she wasn’t showing small signs of improvement they wouldn’t postpone again. I understand contracts and money but that will have to be paid out eventually if it’s cancelled so why not do it now? As I say, the tour is irrelevant now. I’m taking the postponement as a small glimmer of hope that it isn’t the end. I’m hoping they can give her the best treatment and stabilise it. Trying to stay hopeful that we will see her again. 3 Quote

She could be in a wheelchair already, she might need to use a walker to get around, these things all might and probably will happen eventually. She might have issues with loud noises or lights triggering spasms. She might have agoraphobia. We don't know. And let's not think about this as the "end of Celine's career." Perhaps it's the beginning of a second act as an advocate for people living with invisible disabilities. Maybe she can be the person to raise enough money and bring enough attention to this terrible disease to help find a cure. 5 Quote

PuraVida Posted December 8, 2022 at 02:46 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 02:46 PM (edited) Without having researched this at all, I hold out hope. She has such a life force. And there are athletes who play sports despite autoimmune conditions. Her fellow Canadian artist Joni Mitchell has made a monumental recovery from her brain aneurysm and learned to talk, walk, and play instruments again. I know every disease is different and this one sounds very pernicious, but it all starts with hope. And good treatment. Edited December 8, 2022 at 02:46 PM by PuraVida 3 Quote
mirage Posted December 8, 2022 at 03:13 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 03:13 PM Feels to me that they hope she will be able to do a show/tour like she used to do. Or it's a money thing that they didn't canceled everything right away. But the amount of shows, and the type of shows she used to do. I think those times are gone. Maybe a few appearances when she has a good day, or time for those unplugged shows. Celine on a chair, no flashy lights and extravaganza. Just her voice and some music. I hope for her that someday she will be able to do something like that, and for me as a fan. This is not how her career was supposed to end. Recording she might do. If she has a good day, can do multiple takes, etc.But performing? Nmj Posted December 8, 2022 at 03:31 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 03:31 PM I’m lost for words, but I’m going to ramble anyways. Celine you are loved and this news guts us. Somehow this news still surprises me even after the updates and news the past couple years. I hope she gets well enough to return to the stage ‘if’ that’s what heart desires. I do however feel they should’ve CANCELLED the entire tour and remove the pressure from Celine. Today was the day that she finally announced a defined reason of the cancellations and it would’ve been the perfect opportunity to CANCEL the rest of the tour. I know she’s under contract to perform but there has to be stipulations that could void the contract like illness. This goes to show us, how money and fame isn’t all that matters like many think. When I think of Celine I think of struggle from the very beginning of her story. She’s a person who’s experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. To be born into a very poor family, struggling with positivity in her looks…. Falling in love with a man much older than her that has left her a widow very young in life, to having problems and struggles to conceive children and doing countless rounds of IVF, to losing her husband and brother and mother in such a short span of time, to developing a disease that she has to learn to Navigate. She’s handled all of those things with class and grace and a strong mentality. I hope for the best for Celine, while acknowledging the worst. I’m so glad I was lucky enough to see Celine live multiple times and during the courage world tour a couple years ago. I think no matter what happens it’s crystal CLEAR that this will be Celine’s LAST tour of her career, or she’s lucky enough to complete it. Even at best case I’d suppose this means it will be Vegas and occasionally Canada dates that will occur. I’m not really a fan of Perez Hilton, but I did she his comment on Celine’s Instagram which I think is very true, he said that announcing this will “lift a huge weight off your shoulders Celine” I agree with him, maybe being open and accepting it will help in the healing process and for her to have closure with her new normal. Love you Celine, god bless. 4 Quote

manu23 Posted December 8, 2022 at 03:48 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 03:48 PM There is no way Celine is faking a serious illness to get out of a contract. She is too professional (and superstitious) for that. I'm pretty sure omicron is not the reason. Most concerns will be happening as many countries are already evaluating if in a few weeks covid pandemic will be treated as endemic. I just hope this is not some kind of degenerative illness what she is facing, it's many months already and if they are cancelling so early is because doctors think she won't be well by then It was always my fear from the beginning, but reality is even worst being such a rare illness. It's not only the sadness of not being able to see her perform as she used to but imagining her with limited mobility and pain 1 Quote

manu23 Posted December 8, 2022 at 04:00 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 04:00 PM Why people keep on repeating the tour should have been cancelled? The moment a concert is rescheduled you are free to ask for a refund, is not like they are going to keep your money until 2024 if you don't want to. Celine is the one that doesn't want to cancel, she said it very clearly "my whole life is singing and performing", would you also take that hope away from her? She is not forced to perform, she needs to and if having those shows in the horizon give her hope and strength, let her have that. 2 Quote

PuraVida Posted December 8, 2022 at 04:14 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 04:14 PM Maybe by rescheduling, they give themselves more wiggel room with contract/legal stuff. I hope it's just that she remains optimistic, but it does kind of kick the can down the road for another video message if she has to cancel/postpone again -- and she may be in worse shape by that point. Of course, if it comes to that, she can always just post a press release. But yeah. Quote

Állex Sodi Posted December 8, 2022 at 04:22 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 04:22 PM (edited) I feel so sad, devastated, for her and her children! I keep remembering all those times she said that if she could never sing again she would’ve been fine just taking care of her children. I’m guessing she never imagined being unable to do both! She is probably being taken care of by the best doctors in the field, so all we can do right now is hope she will be fine, keep positive and send her our love. At this point, I don’t even care if will ever be another album or tour. My feelings right now are towards Celine the human being, not the artist. CSCfan Posted December 8, 2022 at 04:29 PM Posted December 8, 2022 at 04:29 PM Poor Céline... my heart breaks... it must be so hard physically, but also mentally to not able to do what you love after doing it your whole life. Agreed. I also think Celine is the one who wants to keep the shows on the horizon. If she wanted to cancel, she would have canceled. All of this is a lot to process. I just want her to be surrounded by the best doctors and to heal as best she can. I really think it's the other way around.... she signed a mega contract a few years back (which already came with controversy) and I reckon AEG etc won't let her go easily (she's probably their biggest client aka cash cow). If it were up to Céline, the tour was already cancelled IMO (remember this is the woman who wanted to cancel AND at the very last minute - yes for different reasons, but it's a small look in her mind). It's not fair to both her and the fans to keep postponing. The pressure, the money, etc. Quote »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» MATHIAS ««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzPrxI0AIDY
