I personally didn’t have a problem with FOMO being in the medley with those older songs, I simply loved the fact that she sang it. Similarly, I don’t care if it’s lipped or not. Some songs just sound better in versions which require her to lipsync and, to be honest, FOMO is harder than most other songs she sings so it’s totally acceptable. It’s her lipping easier songs like MHWGO or BYLM that I’m quite bummed about. I wouldn’t expect a statement until one month before the tour is supposed to start again. AEG/Ticketmaster doesn’t want to return money so they’ll put it off as long as possible.

While I don’t fully understand what you’re saying, I think we’ve pretty much got the same opinion. I said I love PQTME so much that she shouldn’t touch it at all and just stick to the original version. What I don’t like is how much she changed it which is why I said that even a lipsync track would be better than that for me.

I saw her “revamped” PQTME in her final weeks of Vegas, and it was one of the highlights for me. I was in tears. Maybe you just had to be there? I dunno, but personally I’d rather have a rambling version than hear the same note-for-note version she’s sung continually for the past 25+ years.

Same with the playback songs - I’d rather have them revamped than lipped. You can’t expect someone to keep doing something consistently for their entire life, and it’s truly absurd to expect that.

I disagree on that. That song was sang a million times already, it was about time to do something different with it.

More than that, Celine has a new voice, she's not 20 anymore. She should accept that, play with her voice, find out new ways of sounding amazing, without have to scream all the time.

 

IMO, if people needs to hear her doing playback of someone she's not anymore to keep liking her maybe, just maybe, it's time to move on to other artists.

The new take on PQTME was the first time in literally decades that we got a truly new approach to one of the old chestnuts in Céline's repertoire (although I suppose you could include the acoustic performances of songs like Unison as being a new approach). Doing that to just two or three old tracks in a concert would make a world of difference to keeping things fresh and avoiding the whole "haven't I seen this exact concert three or four times already over the past 20 years?" reaction. They barely even change the instrumentation of the songs! (Sure, adding horns/strings is nice, but it's hardly transformative.) I'll never not enjoy seeing Céline live - and hopefully will get to do it again in the future - but seriously, for the children, change it up a little and don't just spend the next 30 years as a purely heritage artist that sings the same cabaret show every night.

I'm really sorry if I don't like this versions but for me since 2016 PQTME is magical with the audience sinning and diferent every time. 2016 with magical show, 2017 with the acoustic version and all people singing and 2020 with this intensity a bit desperate and acapella.

The National Television Awards that were due to take place at The O2 in London on the 21st April have been put back until September.

 

I can’t see the Courage concerts going ahead on the 22nd or 23rd now.

 

I’m starting to think I might claim my money back if this gets postponed again.

Apparently artists wait for the venue to cancel rather than the other way around for insurance/agreement purposes which is maybe why her lot ain’t said anything yet

Glastonbury has also now been cancelled and that’s well after April.

 

Scrap the tour, work on the new residency and do mini tours next year and the year after, simple.

 

Oh yeah and for this year release a DVD by April/May

Any person paying attention could have said right off the bat that the Courage tour was going to be cancelled for a long time.

 

 

Vaccine development was always supposed to take at least this long. Getting it into people's arms is another thing. Caution added on top of those.

Totally agree. Here in the Netherlands the lockdown is even getting stricter and stricter. This weekend we will also get a curfew... I don’t think Celine will perform this year in concert at all.

I think it’s clear to us all that the tour won’t start up again this year, but those calling for it to be cancelled should stop and consider those of us who have tickets and want it to go ahead. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and although you personally may not be excited by the CWT.... think of the hundreds of thousands of us who are, who have tickets and who want it to happen. Well if they cancel the tour, then there might actually be a decent demand for the Courage Tour on DVD (or whatever platform they want) since nobody would have seen it except for the US and Canada. $$$$$

I don't think any tours will happen this year. At all. it's still a friggin mess. She best do what Elton John did and rebook the entire rescheduled dates to 2022 Q1 and renegotiate a start date for Vegas. I think its important the tour finishes. But not this year.
