Think Twice will definitely be there at one point in time. Can't really say the same thing about Ashes. That song probably won't make a comeback.

I would think “Think Twice” and “The Reason”.

Definitely not “Ashes”.

I think we need to ground ourselves, our expectations, and remember a little perspective.

 

This is Celine's first world tour without Rene and some of the management team. Is she going to play it a little safe...probably.

 

Is there a formula? Sure thing.

 

I think it was already said before that Celine's shows make money, pure & simple. Now that music revenue is so different (not so heavily focused on record sales), you can imagine the amount of people in the Celine business machine that do not want Celine to take risks. They want their guaranteed returns and probably treat her as a cash cow, which clouds all artistic liberty.

 

This is her first tour as "the Boss", she'll learn more as she goes and will hopefully speak up for herself and do more of things she wants to do as an artisit. We all know she would happily cut TPOL, MHWGO, ABM, etc. But she does it for the "fans"...the people that didn't go to Vegas, the people that haven't seen her live since the TCWT. Does that adversely affect us as Super Fans? Sure it does, but consider that a price we pay to adore our Celine so much.

 

Let's remember that Celine finished Vegas, then was back on the road in the same year. She did not owe it to us to tour for the new album. She could have very well release Courage and stay home, supervising and designing her new home and be totally "lazy". She didn't...she hit the road to visit places she has not been in 10+ years.

 

Then, Celine loses her beloved mother while on tour... could she have canceled the tour or at least a few shows? Sure...did she? No...again, not lazy.

 

Now in MTL...is the show as diverse as it was previously in French Speaking Canada, No. Let's now recognize that Maman Dion had funeral services this week. Was it easier for Celine to keep TTWII and the medley?...Yes

 

I think she is owed some consideration given the rough month of January that she had (Anniversary of Rene's Death, Rene's Birthday, RC's Birthday, Anniversary of Daniel's death, and the death of her mother). I think we need to cut the woman a little slack and recognize the "courage" she has to keep going and to keep performing.

 

I do agree that we have the right to offer some constructive feedback as fans and as consumers of her "product", but this ruthless nagging...like dogs with a bone is really counter-productive.

 

Could she have added a couple more songs from Courage? Sure. I disagree with the idea that crowd does not react to "Courage" or "Imperfections" It is just not accurate based on the shows I have been to.

 

Wouldn't we all be belly-aching if she didn't sing Imperfections ( her first top 10 hit in how many years...20?)?

 

I think many do have a point and a right to voice their opinions for something they paid for, but to rip Celine apart crosses a line because this woman does not have to be on the road right now. So, let's all gain a little perspective and appreciate the fact that she is touring. She is visitng those people that may not have had the ways and means to travel to Vegas. And for us Super Fans, we get to enjoy some more magical moments.

I'm sorry but sticking to songs such as « A vous » (finally dropped yesterday ), « Dans un autre monde », « You're the voice » and « Kiss » is being lazy, it's not about appealing to broader audience, NO ONE is really expecting those songs. They have just become easy for Celine to do. Already rehearsed by the band and easy for her.

 

She didn't work anything new to propose to the fans and to me, this is shocking when you ask your fans to pay that much money to hear the same old stuff again. I'm not talking about the greatest hits. I'm talking about the lame covers and lack of originality.

 

I mean, « Dans un autre monde » has been the first or second song of EVERY French show since 1999. Count it. It's crazy.

 

It's lazy and lame.

 

So what do you suggest we do? How do you expect them to change a formula that always works? I've been reading here for more than 10 years that Celine's career would be over because of Vegas, then that her career would be over for singing the same songs, or for singing covers. And still here we are, best reviews in years and sold out shows every night.

 

I love Courage and I'd love to have more songs in the tour, but feeling disappointed after every show because there were not changes (what tour changes songs every night?) is pointless. You are free to not go, there is where your power ends. But if you decide to go I suggest you (not you personally) focus on the good and try to enjoy as much as possible. You can listen to Courage at home every day but you will see her live only a few nights.

Céline really likes to messed up PQTME.. her audience can't keep up haha Céline they want to sing too but you keep changing it and it doesn't sound great. Stick to the original way of singing PQTME :mellow:

What a great surprise that she invited BlueJeansBlue. They are so hot at the moment!

 

Oh, and I'm glad she dropped A Vous for TTWII. A Vous was not that great... and TTWII was a big hit in Quebec too. She doesn't always have to sing all her French hits when doing a World Tour to support (or half support :giggle:) an English album. Her French audience knows that - at least in Quebec.

I remember a recently interview when she was asked about the #MeToo movement and (it seems) she didn´t have any idea....

I won't be surprised if she will return to Las Vegas, because after this Tour, where she keep disrespecting us

she will have troubles to sell out shows (Just like Madonna that had to go for small crowd-shows and still have troubles

to sell it out, but she at least highly creative with her shows.) Celine is only the shadow of what she used to be, such a sad thing.

Who knows if one day she will return to sing with her heart and respect her own music and fans.

I loved her show last night. Its amazing how she can just sing the phone book, Happy birthday or Mary had a little lamb and people would still fall in love with her. As I see it, when you have dedicated your life to your craft you have every right to do as you please. Celine is, first of all , under construction. As she has said so many times, she lost half of herself, and she is now reconstructing the half that she lost. It's so clear that she is doing what she wants, when she wants, and how she wants. Yesterday she changed the show , why? because she wanted to. By the way her performance with Bleu Jeans Bleu was great.She nailed it. She sings 'Your the voice' Why ? Because she wants to!She is now in her 50's , respected and admired by everyone. Everything is her call. Yes many people will be upset about the set list, but sorry, that's just the way it is. All I can say is please don't buy a ticket and above all please don't follow her. I would love to hear her sing so many songs, but I know it's not going to happen. So just enjoy the ride and be proud of the talent that she is.

1. Céline sells out shows effortlessly.

 

2. Madonna opted for smaller shows because that’s what she wanted, not because she couldn’t sell out arena shows. As a result, she has to perform multiple shows in each city. A better example would’ve been Mariah Carey or Christina Aguilera.

 

3. If Céline will have trouble selling out the Israel shows she will just avoid that area in the future while still touring the rest of the world. It’s your loss.

Are you serious? She is selling out all over the world no problem. The only problem is that she over-saturates certain markets.

Don't buy a ticket you say... I probably would not have bought a ticket now I know how boring the setlist is. But she promised a new tour in which she would dive deep in her discography. But let's face it, the only people that are pleased are casual fans. Big time fans not so much.

I also get that she has to make money and this concept works, so she will probably not make big changes to the setlist. I get that but I feel misled with this Courage tour that does not have much new material and the usual songs she always does. it is basically vegas on tour with a fancy stagedesign.

Really? how many tickets they gave away on this joke of Tour in order to fill seats? Remember the articles of selling tickets in just 20$? :) I've checked and Madonna does struggle to sell small crowd shows (HER OWN fans shared this).

 

I don't believe they will cancel her shows here, they will give tickets away and some companies have "ordered" tickets in advance

so they give it away in much cheaper price later to their workers, just like they did with Bon Jovi once he failed to have a sold out

here. And no, I don't feel any loss if I won't see her, not on a Tour when she doesn't want to sing new songs from an album and lied

about everything, making a joke of her fans. For some time now, this is not the singer I've became fan of.

 

She and the producers thought they will take a fortune from people here and we will swallow it up and say "thanks", not me.

I can't believe she is that lazy to keep ending the shows with "Imagine :wtf: zero of artisty, zero creativity, no vision

such a shame I do wanted to hear some numbers from the album she said she is so ""proud of".

Yes and I'm sorry to say this, this is not the Celine that would take me into a musical journey once hearing her live.

I don't feel she touchs me deeply with her singing anymore. I want to hear new arrangements

I want to hear her "soul", not a montone singer of a karaoke show+silly damn playbacks that she is still using

when this time she has good songs to try to sing them live. She killed all the motivation for this new album. Such a shame.

That's sadly what she has turned to be.

Wow, such negativity and such anger here. What artiste offers 4 differents shows in 4 years. Nobody. Of course, the tour isn't perfect. But, it's her tour and she sing what she wants to sing. Accept it !
