Popular Post TommKat22 Posted November 7, 2019 at 04:53 AM Popular Post Posted November 7, 2019 at 04:53 AM (edited) Okay, so my review that you've all been waiting for, haha. First, the bad; My friends didn't want to spend a lot, so we ended up getting nose bleed seats. The view wasn't bad, but the monitor in front of us didn't match with the sound being played, and trying to get a good photo or video wasn't great because the spotlight washed her out most of the time. I also wish I had stayed more in the moment instead of trying to get a good pic or video. With that being said, the show itself was great! At the beginning, the audience cam was catching everyone dancing, both young and old. There was an older mom with a Celine shirt next to her son with a Metallica shirt on, and the camera cut back to them multiple times while they danced, and the whole crowd cheered every time they came on. I sat with one of my friends next to me, and then 2 more friends were also in attendance elsewhere in the arena. Within 1-2 songs, both of the other friends texted me to say they were in awe and had died and gone to heaven. The friend next to me had goosebumps multiple times throughout the night, and kept mouthing, "Oh my God,"and clapping and cheering. She also cried during Courage. Afterwards, she said it was one of the top 3 shows she's ever seen and had so much more respect for Celine. Celine's voice was great though, even at 51! I didn't notice many audible cracks in her voice, if any. Like David Foster said many years ago, you don't really get the power of her voice until you see her in person. It seemed like everyone respected her by the end of the show, even the husbands who were dragged along by their wives, lol. They were converted, just like the rest of us! And yes, Lying Down was added back in the show, as previously mentioned. I also bought the black long sleeve tour shirt with the album cover on it, and wore it to work today. It was $70, but hella comfy! I recommend seeing her if you haven't already because everyone had a good time. Especially the two drunk girls next to me singing every word she sang too. sarit_celine Posted November 7, 2019 at 10:48 AM Posted November 7, 2019 at 10:48 AM These are Chicago prices for Dec. 1st. TicketMaster has nosebleeds starting at $187 + fees, and the Front Floor section seats are as high as $1800. Stubhub has resale tickets in Front Floor up to $2790 (though I'm sure they paid much less than that). It's ridiculous. My goodness! this is actually so sad and sick and no one is doing nothing against it. I hope by the time you will go to her show in one more monthyou'll have an amazing time with a great new setlist. What thoughts were going through your head when the opening video started and you knew you were moment away from her rising up on stage? As for the nosebleed seats... that's an easy fix (hopefully), you just need to find another show close to you so you can be up close. zeopower6 Posted November 7, 2019 at 11:06 AM Posted November 7, 2019 at 11:06 AM I am in California and it is kind of insane to think that the tickets are 'too cheap'. All the tickets I've looked at were in the hundreds! 1 Quote

All the tickets I've looked at were in the hundreds! I guess the lesson here for both of us is this: next time we should snatch up front row seats in flyover cities... they’re basically priced the same way faraway seats are in major cities. 1 Quote

I was thinking it was finally going to happen! And I smiled, haha. Nothing too crazy. The closest shows are at least a few hours away, so nothing terribly close unfortunately. sarit_celine Posted November 7, 2019 at 01:47 PM Posted November 7, 2019 at 01:47 PM Guys which songs are live and which are lipped? Let's see with this sad issue, the verses in TPOL are live, the C parts are lipped, sometimes one can notice she sings over some of the C partsin order to give the ilustion it's live lol. Climax in ABM, climax in MHWGO are lipped. Fully lipped: TLYM BYLM, IACBTMN (In the end parts she sing it live). This fiasco must stop. IYAMT, this one I have to check carefully. What I love about this new album, is that for once she has there plenty of WISE VOCAL songsto sing live on stage without abusing her vocal chords. Waiting to see this miracle happens. 1 Quote "Needed in the chaos and confusion, from the plains to City HallNeeded where the proud who walk the wire are set to fall"

IYAMT is 100% live. Its different every night And just a heads up; she was already lipping in 1992, so it aint gonna stop now. She lips less now than she did back in her prime, she does things she would lip without hesitation years ago, so lets be grateful for that 8 Quote

Those visuals are really lovely. I’ll admit: this medley has grown on me, and I think her voice sounds much more comfortable than it did the first few shows. The audience apparently eats it up, and the critics seem split 50/50. My issue is the LENGTH of the medley. I also wonder (hypothetically, not realistically) if she cut it, what would she replace it with that matches her energy level — when she doesn’t even have this kind of enthusiasm for her own uptempo songs like “I’m Alive”? The only reason I stand behind her keeping YTV is because it’s one of the most moving songs in her whole set list (at least, that was the case when I saw her in LV). If she put in new songs or deep-cuts, the crowd wouldn’t go wild the same way... sad fact. Edited November 7, 2019 at 04:16 PM by Chantemoi 2 Quote

I don't know because I listen to different videos of that performance and it's different every night.. The secret in knowing if the artist is doing the pre recorded is when the volume and texture of the voice changes. And you can only noticed it on your phone after you shoot it. Because in live, you wouldn't noticed it. Actually, I'm shocked when i saw Céline last year and all are consistent you wouldn't know that she starting to lipped during The Power Of Love but when i heard the clip that I shot I noticed it. People who said it wasnt live are silly as every night the high notes are different the choruses, verses and the long note are extremely comfortable for her. The high belts vary, some nights she changes the vowel, others she sings them and they crack or are wobbly and some nights they’re absolutely perfect. Youd need to be a fool to believe otherwise 1 Quote

It's actually a cute part of the showeven though she has been doing it for bilion timesso maybe I'm wrong but I don't see this one goes out of the setlist anytime soonand I'm so sure this song will appear in the setlistand in my mind I see her performing this one here as well. If this medley goes away - people will miss it badly Indeed, she enjoys to sing this medley more than her own songs, it's a treat seeing/hearing it. I think the audience doesn't react well to the new singles C and LD, but to FOMO there was an amazing responsewondering if there will be a new setlist for the rescheduled shows in Canada or not, or that they will wait with thatfor the show in Chicago. 1 Quote "Needed in the chaos and confusion, from the plains to City HallNeeded where the proud who walk the wire are set to fall"

Ajax Posted November 7, 2019 at 05:28 PM Posted November 7, 2019 at 05:28 PM (edited) Yep she is the master of masters in the P field lol:) Actually not really. Celine is one who uses it at it's minimum in comparison to other pop female vocalist of her caliber, And in term of what technologies offers for incorporating playback into live performances, she's really a small player. Sorry but for an artist of her caliber, I'm talking about superstar dom, when you go to a Celine Dion concert, you can even still feel this artisanal vibe, in a way that you still rely mainly on a voice experience with few things around to distract you. And the girl takes risks. I think that's why people come, to live this vocal experience. And when she does it, she is not joking, and she does it mainly without any net. Zora Posted November 7, 2019 at 08:57 PM Posted November 7, 2019 at 08:57 PM Thank you for this! The only ‘big’ notes I’m fussed about are like the ones in Tous Les Blues, the other more known songs I’m not so bothered if they’re lipped if it means preserving her voice. What I love are the nuances and improvs, like at the end of IACBTMN and TP, so much better than the originals. That’s what gives me the chills! Really interesting reading you guys’ posts, very knowledgable! Xx 2 Quote LIFE BEGINS WITH LOVE
