Courage World Tour - EU shows CANCELED

This will probably be the last time I’ll attend a concert stateside. Had I waited until the tour began before buying tickets, I wouldn’t have bothered (or I would have at least waited for the $600-to-$1,600 tickets in Chicago to get slashed). If they see a backlash, it might not be until she tries going on tour again and not even hardcore fans will be willing to pay that much.

 

To what show you will be going?

 

I already saw fans writing her, on her official accounts, they won't dare to pay those prices,

well they were mainly from European countries.

And yes, saw as well lots of articles stating tickes prices got really lowered once the day of the show arrives

and those were the front row tickets, so that just proves me once again, they have no shame to abuse fans

and to abuse our love and apperciation for her, and Celine herself being part of it, just makes all even wrost.

 

Needless to say my dream of enjoying her show, after waiting decades, (for the meanwhile)

has been destroyed thanks to this sick greediness.

I'm trying to stay positive, but those things are behind me and behind any shame at this point.

After being a fan for about 15 years, I'll finally be seeing Celine live in Detroit tomorrow! I'm excited and anxious. I was afraid she'd cancel more dates again, and I wouldn't get to see her, but *knock on wood,* I hope she doesn't. It's still a little surreal to me, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow, and will be wearing my Celine sweatshirt to work. Most of my co-workers are jealous.

The fact that she cut Lying Down from the setlist should be an issue which I don't see anyone talking about. That song may be a bit difficult, but it is the song she chose as her single and should be promoted as such. She sang one freaking song from the album. ONE. Where is the outrage? This is the CWT, not old hits tour.

I agree, this is all kinds of messed up. I remember TCWT had like 5-6 songs right from the start. I think the difference is, people respond better to songs they can sing along to. Before TCWT there was a massive promo tour, countless talk shows in like 7 different countries. By the time the tour started people knew all those songs by heart

 

None of that is happening with this new album. She did several interview marathons in Canada. People seem to be a lot more interested in whether or not Pepe is gay than her new music.

 

Another aspect, aside from Courage and maybe a couple more tracks, the new songs don’t really mix well with the old stuff. If I was in charge of the set list, I would not have a clue where to put stuff like Baby or Change My Mind. Certainly not between The Power Of Love and Because You Loved Me

I can only remember waiting for the concert, standing in a crowd of people. And then being hyped after and speaking to a reporter who asked us how it was. I still have the recording (it was on a national radio). Sounds like I had a blast.

Knew them all by heart? Who did? Probably only the die hard fans. And we knew FOMO, C, I and LD by heart from the tour start this time. Yet now we are only left with C.....

Again why this sudden dementia that kicks in: THE ALBUM ISNT OUT YET. 4 songs were released and up until a few shows ago she was performing 3/4 of them. 2/4 after she found FOMO too hard for her vocal condition at the time. She cant just rock up and do 10 songs no one has heard of, bad enough when LD,Courage, Imperfections and FOMO got met with bathroom breaks, sitting down and lack of reaction, can you imagine surprise songs? God. Im sure the album will be represented well but let the damn album actually *come out* before you winge... just cause its leaked, doesn’t mean its out folks

I didnt say that at all. Of course they will. Theyve already been doing it with LD,Courage and even FOMO. My point still stands however; if the reaction now is to go away or pay no attention, her doing 10 pre-album release new songs would have critics and attendees reviewing saying “too many new songs, we came for the hits....”, so on and so forth

And let s be a bit less manichean. We got the hit and oldie factor for such artist like Celine. But it is not that black or white TLBSEPT seems also to have a really good impact on the audience. We are at a point where we are just asking for SOME fresh new tracks live. Just some. Like not even 50% and we have never been that far from that. Whatever they are from Courage or new oldies.

I was wondering.... If maybe after the Courage tour, there will be the REAL Courage tour?...... She said several times that she wants to sing in small theaters. The only way to do so it's to announce a "Real Courage tour" where she will inform everyone that's it's a tour only for real fans, that she won't sing "My heart will go on" and even not "Pour que tu m'aimes encore", only songs from "Courage" and some unknown other songs from her previous albums?..

We can hope. We can hope. But be prepared for little change. And be prepared for the defeners to jump up and go "of course she can't perform the songs from Courage just YET, it's too early, it's more natural to hear them on the next tour".

I saw her for the first time in dublin in 1996 (FIY tour). Loved it so much that I saw her two nights in a row in Wembley stadium in 1999 (LTAL tour). I did see her in dublin and London again a few times after that (TC tour), also in Paris. Each time I couldn’t sleep the night before with excitement and the night after because I was too hyper.

However nothing could have prepared me for seeing her in March 2011 in Vegas. I was sitting directly behind Amman Dion and Rene. When she came out on stage she seemed so close to us and she was so beautiful in that sparkling dress singing open arms. I sobbed crying. My husband thought I was having some kind of fit and kept asking me if I was ok.

I’ve seen her two more times in Vegas and also a few more times in dublin, London and Paris. I think it’s been 16 concerts so far.

For the courage tour I’m going to Dublin, London and Geneva (Nyon Paleo festival).

Not great indeed...But that was expected as we knew there were some tickets left unsold Hopefully the next numbers we'll get will show sellouts

 

Anyway, reviews are amazing so far and I'm sure the tour will go to another dimension once the album is out! We may see the remaining tickets fly away!

It’s the lowest average ticket price I’ve seen for Celine since 1999 - not a disaster but not her usual standard either.

 

Therefore, very disappointing.
