Yes, Taking Chances front row in Amsterdam.

It was the security from the arena itself.

No one from Céline's team.

 

People behind me said to me that I needed to stand and were actually couraging me

 

At one point celine was in front of us and saw me being asked to sit down, and she looked at us and gestured with her hand to stand up again

 

Later I asked Nick her bodyguard (was walking front of the stage etc) if he could do something.

We stood the whole rest of the show

 

 

That's interesting... Has anyone else experienced this during this one or previous tours - staff asking fans to remain seated?

Her daughter kept having to pull her to her feet over and over until finally the woman was too tired and just couldn’t. There was zero reason to be standing in the very back of the rear orchestra. Could be she was just tired, but more times than not the lack of energy is a reflection of the audience. Performers aren’t a hologram — they are flesh and blood, and they will meet their audiences need. So if you’re a lackluster audience, you get a lackluster performance. Plain and simple!

I think the setlist will Change after the oficial album release.. well.. i hope so lol

 

 

Here’s my take on how they could merge the two personas:

 

Act One: Greatest Hits + “You’re the Voice”

Act Two: songs from Courage + MHWGO

 

That way if people don’t like the change in style they can leave... but they won’t until they hear MHWGO!

In Québec, one of the ushers tried to get people to stand back/sit down, but Céline's people actually told them to let people be lol. It's very obvious what the official TC stand is on the issue 😋

 

That said, I will always take my surroundings into account (I'd never get into arguments over it and would NEVER purposely block an elderly or disabled person's view).

I will say it's more enjoyable to me when I can stand throughout the concert.

Feels more like a party to me.

Like Robin said... in Amsterdam in 2008, but I was in another section (I think?) and they asked us to sit down a few times.. and we finally sat down and I remember Elise was like WTF and was waving us to keep standing, but the secutity kept nagging. Then during 'Taking Chances' Céline was on our side and I believe during the last part or the 2nd chorus the whole block was standing again

 

And in Arnhem 2 years ago, we were asked to sit down and Céline interrupted her speech to make us stand again; watch here (go to 2:40):

But they cant tour in support of the album and not support it- and they didnt even replace it! Aaaargh whats going on?

I don't mind if she decides to drop a song but what irritates me is dropping one and not replacing it. That said a tour to support an album should have more then 1 or 2 songs from the album. How else is the audience going to love them if she doesn't sing them.

Having been at the Milwaukee show, I thought she sounded great! I loved the gritty "Everything, everything!" in "If You Asked Me To" which I hadn't heard in her 2019 live versions, but was done on the album version. I do know that Fiserv Forum staff were making people sit down. In fact, I was asked to as well in the 3rd row. A lot of people were complaining about this on Twitter, including someone getting a "warning card" for standing. According to this person, Fiserv Forum staff stated that Celine's team didn't want people standing....Sure...

Her team doesn't want people standing... yeah right. That's all the people on the floor in Quebec did. No one told us to sit down and there were security guards in front of us. Celine herself even said she loved that we were standing up.

Although I hate they did it, it was just for one show for now guys..... let's wait until tomorrow's show. I'm sure LD (and hopefully more tracks from the album) will be back when she starts the 2nd leg later this month.

Yeah, it's common practice for local security to point at the artist.... whereas most of the times they don't even know/care/don't mind.

In my opinion, the reason for the cut is not to dissuade old audience from buying her new album. Fomo and imperfection sound current whilst courage is more her usual 'miracle' type of song. So when old audience who are in 50/50 chance of buying her record may consider it.

This tour was cute and all the first 3 nights, but now it's just getting mediocre. Celine's voice is tired and she's giving 60% effort. She's cut 3 songs, making the setlist 15 minutes shorter (and for what reason!?).

 

In all honesty, the only things I can appreciate is the stage (which is beautiful btw) and the long black dress. Her costumes are pretty lame tbh and they don't look like something anyone would wear on stage. The pantsuit makes her look too formal. The white MHWGO dress is just kinda bland. No comments on the rest. And I'm not a big fan of her hair. The songs don't flow together well at all. It seems like something I would have on shuffle-play in my spotify playlist lmao. There's a few songs that I really just don't like (IYAMT, LCMM, BATB, AOBTD, LM, Imagine).

 

Obviously since I'm such a huge fan, I'll still go as I already have my tickets, I'm just slightly disappointed. Hopefully the show is better in person. The one word I can use to describe the tour from what I've seen is underwhelming. Shame. Luckily since the album comes out soon, we'll have a new setlist that will likely be permanent.

 

Hopefully I don't get attacked for this lol. Some people have no tolerance for negative opinions here.

I don't mourn LD being cut at all. This song has already gotten too much time in the spotlight. This whine and yell-fest was not a good enough song to have her risk strain her voice night after night. And if she HAS to sing it she must find a "softer to the ear"-way of singing "HEE-aa-AAAR you!"

 

That said I do mourn that she cut one of the two (!!!!) tracks she sings off the new album. And the second one (Courage) isn't really strong enough to be in this setlist IMO... not when there's so many "less wanted" songs holding up space.

 

And even... EVEN if this setlist is just something trown together just to be blown away by a smashing one (which I doubt) when the album is out... it doesn't really make up for what the ones going before the album came out got setlist wise.

In my mind I've renamed this tour to "Broken Promises"... but after the album leaked and so many praise a new sound, being current and also old school, this tour really contrast badly to the album and era it's supposed to promote.

 

And some may say "oh she can't do that when the album is not out/this is what you get when starting a tour before the album is released".... and that doesn't have to be logic at all. They still could have given the tour a superb setlist, updated the sound and include some more new tracks but two (supposedly the other two we already got FOMO and I), and still add like one totally unknown track from C before the album came out. I am very sure that the people who are fan enough to buy a very expensive ticket to her show would be able to "endure" that....

Funny, that's the one song from the album that I NEED to hear her sing live! Granted I haven't listened to the album yet (and I don't plan to). LD is such a powerful song, it deserves a spot on the setlist IMO, and it's also her single. All she needs is something to lip to and she won't have to suffer the high notes anymore. Cutting all but one single from the album won't help her with sales at all. She's not doing a very good job at promoting them, but maybe that will change when the album releases.

I've been saying this for a while now, Think Twice deserves a spot in the setlist, and if LD is gone for good, it would make a good replacement. It would fit really well in that part of the show. Not to mention it's a pretty well known song.
