I agree Imperfections is not a big song for the stage. And I do not miss it. BUT. Given that it is her current single I think that it should have been included in some form.

 

Maybe as instrumental? Interlude? As part of a medley? DJ could play it before the show? Excluding the lead singles from her concert makes no sense to me. At all.

 

An acoustic version?

Celine was at a haunted hayride in Minnesota last night... Feeling disappointed that I didn't have some kind of premonition to be there!

Local news station (WCCO) found the post and asked to share on WCCO. The original poster asked them to wait until tomorrow because after they posted the original Celine apparently asked everyone to wait to share until today (presumably, so she wasn't mobbed).

That was a neat idea!

 

Yea, they are musicians. It's what they do. They must be able to find a way to put Imperfections onto the stage. It's not like you play the song for some proffesionals and they'd go "Oh yea no. That can't be done no. Absolutely no. Impossible for anyone!"

 

 

 

They could easily do an acoustic guitar and piano driven version of the song and it would be beautiful. Please, enough with this “it doesn’t translate to the stage” nonsense. ANYTHING can translate to the stage if they use their heads.

100% agree. An acoustic version of “Imperfections” would be great! And for further effect, it could build into a full arrangement by the end.

 

Can’t you picture an extended intro, “come on everybody, snap your fingers with me!!”, and everyone getting into the groove? I sure can. :wub:

 

 

I don’t buy the “her band can’t figure out how to make it work” argument. Again, this sound is very au courante — so if other performers are singing this way, Scott could always look to Bieber or Post Malone or whatever for inspiration. He seems smart enough of a guy to do that.

Heading home from the show! Nothing major to report other than the crowd was ON FIRE and she was definitely feeding off it. Vocals were great and energy was high! Love her!

And she can easily sing this,unlike LD where she sometimes mumbled the words and hurt my ears when she is doing the 'I can't heaaaarrr you' :sofunny:

A piano and guitar ballad version of her only up to date mid tempo track which actually got public attention? Sorry. Thats what you call ruining a song. You dont strip down and change a brand new song, you perform it the way it is so people will buy it/ it will be promoted.

 

I cant believe people thinking a stripped acoustic version of Imperfections would be good. Everyone *screaming* for something that sounds current and still carries a message and then yall want her to do it in a boring acoustic version.. whats the point then?

Welcome in the Celine s world. Only here people think that a song couldn’t fit live. Or that a particular song couldn’t t be done live. Only here. That s quite sad.

Any other good artist would have already make beautiful live rendition of imperfection. Only in Celine s word people think it is not possible. Or that we cannot touch the arrangements of a new song. Crazy.

ANYTHING. Thank you. That s actually the job of a musician. There are so many way to emphasize the chill feeling of imperfection live. Only in Celine s world people would think it s impossible or we would sacralize a song and defend anyone to touch the arrangements because it s new. Seriously ?

Agreed... Although I also think it's entirely possible that some songs don't translate well to a live performance (or vice versa), I believe any song can be adapted (for a good live performance). I just takes some time and effort and talent.

I so agree with him. I think she has forgot JJG's lessons. She keeps belting and the covers she chose are pretty much more belting. When will Celine tone in down a bit like she does in the perfect Imperfections? It would also be good for her voice in the long run. :D

We already know that you have a big and powerful voice, Celine. :P

Yeah but it's a catch 22 for her. I mean that's what she's known for. Over the top vocals. People expect that from her. Subtlety and Celine don't fit in the same room. :giggle:

The show last night was fantastic. She was clearly enjoying herself and the crowd was with her. The visuals and stage were incredible. She sounded great.

It really is!! I love this stage so much. There’s so many little hidden layers and I think it’s so cool, from the technical side. I can’t wait till I get to see it in January!

Acoustic doesn’t mean “slowed down” or ballad. Now you’re saying everyone is screaming for something that sounds current. But this current sound doesn’t fit the stage? Please...

The point is that she should sing the song with any kind of arrangements, that would be better than not singing her current (non promoted) single.
