Does anyone know if celine chose to sing with Anistacia? Anistacia says that she got told she was singing with celine, I wonder if this was the divas 2002 idea, or if it were celine who chose to sing with her?

p.s. Im really sad to hear about Anistacia having cancer once again, i really hope she gets through it! She is a strong person! I hope all goes well for her. I feel bad for the fans too. Get well soon!

It's Anastacia. Celine should learn from her too. Release a cover album and then a new material album few months later

WHAT A COINCIDENCE! Tonight I rewatched the Divas Live Testimony performance (which was actually split up in two parts on YouTube). If you watch carefully the first part of the performance, you'll see Celine grasping something from the floor, which appears to be her microphone. She also seem to check the thing she got from the floor. She was all excited and cute dancing with Shania to Aretha's uplifting singing; probably not paying attention to her mike.

 

BTW: If you're watching this performance anyway, rewatch the whole video (the second part elsewhere) to hear Celine beautifully responding Aretha's challenges.

I always loved the fact that Aretha indicated to Celine to come over and join her at the end - not Mariah (which was what i was expecting)!! And boy did Celine match Aretha!

Celine and Shania doing the same steps - lol!!!!

Mariah did look rather out of place - and to me she sounded awful that night. Which i found rather sad at the time.

Well, in first place, the most interesting insight watching this video to me was: Celine has matured in such a way; she would probably never act this humble and waitingly (I know this adjective is no English lol) again in such a tense and prestigious situation. So: she developed in a 'leading Diva', compare for example the World Children's Day performance, which was similar in some ways, though only few years later..

 

Btw: Mariah did sing some lower register 'Jesus' with Aretha. Not long after Aretha turned to Celine, because she probably figured out Mariah did not feel comfortable or something, since she only politely answered Aretha's belting.

Now, of course, much has been said about Celine trying to emulate Aretha. Obviously Celine's colour there was more refined and deeper; she completely withstand herself, adding much to that moment without discarding Aretha nor herself. Celine just sounded heavenly. But she only responded to Aretha's initiative,, this was her song Celine tried to embed herself in.

I wish she would rotate her French material in Vegas weekly or every other week!?? If you think about it, she doesn't really get to perform them much. Give NMQP and PQTME a rest just a bit.

 

 

Lol, well, that doesn't make sense, she doesn't do her English stuff either...... ;)

I saw The Making Of The Concert In The Park, with Andrea Bocelli today on tv. Anyone else seen it?? It was great seeing it - and better seeing Celine a little bit. She looked gorgeous that night. And more importantly, sounded great. Hearing TP live :wub:

I saw this too , I didn't even know it was on and I was flicking through the channels and came across this just as Celine was on it!

She looked and sounded incredible and I loved hearing her talk about Andrea and singing with him! Nice to get a behind the scenes look at the concert

There was a tiny bit with her being bought to the stage on a golf cart with René , blink and you miss it, but then they showed her backstage talking about Andrea and what it's like singing with him , and how it will be her first time singing in Central Park!

That made me think Celine having a show in Central Park someday would be pretty cool!

I know it's always exciting to see Celine on tv , even if its something you have seen on the Internet a million times before , it's different when shes on tv.

Even when I see her music videos on some of the music channels I'm like OMG OMG like i had never seen them before or something lol

Haha .I remember that when I first became a huge Celine fan, Celine was 28, and that seemed impossibly old to me. . now I'm 31!

I don't think she sounded too bad, but she was also dubbed in the editing. Celine sounded fantastic. Not being a Mariah fan, I would have still enjoyed some kind of duet,

I know it's kinda scary how time has flew!

She is one enviable 45 year old , hope I look as good and have legs that great when I'm her age .... Thinking about it I don't have legs like that now! Lol

I was thinking to today, how RC freinds address celine and Rene when they are at home,, (in florida), You know most kids now adays address adults buy either MR, or Mirs, with respect, I wonder how they address them?
