A different question: what do you all know about the alternate version of MHWGO? You know, the one with the extended orchestration. I've heard some tell that it was ripped from the Deluxe Titanic DVD, but I can't make any sense of it. Does anyone know?

Not sure what version you're referring to. Originally, there were two versions -- one, on Celine's CD, which is the one generally played on the radio, and the other, on the Titanic soundtrack, which has slightly different music, and the last word (the word "on" in "my heart will go on and on") is sung quite differently. That soundtrack version is actually the demo that Celine recorded without knowing whether it would be in the film.

This sounds like it may be the soundtrack version (Celine's singing of that last "on" is definitely from the soundtrack version, and I think the orchestrations sound like it too). Maybe it's on the Deluxe Titanic DVD, too -- I don't know, because I just have the soundtrack on a cassette tape I bought in 1998 :)) But I searched iTunes, and it looks like this version is available if you buy MHWGO from the album "Titanic: Music from the Motion Picture" instead of any of the Celine CDs.

im only back from Montreal and even though I have said I would give any excuse to go back ...but not that,I dont even like to think about that happening :cry:

I was thinking about the next thing a few weeks ago, due to the controversy of Beyoncé lipping the anthem etc..

As we all know Celine, at least, lips a few songs consequently.. like TPOL for example; on every occasion, whether it be the world tour or the Walmart-gig. For the record: It is commonly accepted that artists mime to a new single for promotional reasons at an average tv-talkshow, so I'm talking about the obvious 'live' appearances.

 

Many -professional- people over the last years must have noticed this.. for example backgroup singers, some AND-dancers, her current 'orchestra' etc.

So I, for several years already, expect this to become a huge scandal one day, as this must be picked up by a journalist getting inspired by one the threads on this forum or a YouTube video. For instance, revealing to a large audience that she hasn't sung TPOL live since 1997, as well as the big note in ABM or more recently consequently Goldfinger, would make a hell of a headline.

What do you guys think of this? How could this affect her career?

Just a random thought: Do we have just 3 HQ live versions of the song Je Sais Pas?!?! I can't believe it since it's one of Céline's biggest hits in French... If I'm not mistaking, we just have the live performances from Le Zénith de Paris 1995, Stade de France 1999 & Centre Bell 2008... I'm not counting the bootlegs

well Céline only did three French tours for and after D'eux! :( It was a big hit, but PQTME was bigger and got more performed (and is still more performed) on tv than JSP unfortunatly!

there is a chance.In one of her recent interviews she says she would like to be in a movie,after asked if an Oscar would be on the table for her someday and i actually liked her acting specially in that mini series. i sure hope that she starts acting again.

WHAT A COINCIDENCE! Tonight I rewatched the Divas Live Testimony performance (which was actually split up in two parts on YouTube). If you watch carefully the first part of the performance, you'll see Celine grasping something from the floor, which appears to be her microphone. She also seem to check the thing she got from the floor. She was all excited and cute dancing with Shania to Aretha's uplifting singing; probably not paying attention to her mike.

 

BTW: If you're watching this performance anyway, rewatch the whole video (the second part elsewhere) to hear Celine beautifully responding Aretha's challenges.
