I liked Taylor Dane...Now she had some power to her voice! I wonder what happened to her career?

 

She's great. I love "I'll Be Your Shelter". Celine would also have done it justice. Too bad she appeared later in her English career, as I'm sure Diane would have submitted it for Celine.

 

I haven't heard a mashup of Taylor's and Celine's "Send Me A Lover". I hope somebody does it someday and post it on YouTube. :)

Isn't this an amazing way to communicate...the internet!? Fascinates me! I just heard two wonderful covers of "Attendre" and they are on two different sides of the planet! Just a thought! :)

They are not all 20ish, Sherri. ;) But most of them are.

 

But yes, internet is incredible. I love a lot of things about the old times without it, but with it, as I said somewhere else, we wouldn't be able to discover so many great things about Celine past, present and future. :D

During an interview at canadian TV show 'Star D'un Soir' in December of 1986, Céline said that in a few months she'd travel to Germany to record an album in German. She also sang a bit of Nur Das Leben (German version of C'est Pour Vivre) acapella. (06:05)

I miss those American Top 40 shows in the early 90s. I got goosebumps when Shadoe Stevens introduced a Celine song and I was always looking forward to hearing some facts about her. My favorite was in 1993 on the Christmas week, when Shadoe shouted, "Merry Christmas and let's get it started!!" then there was an explosion and a woman shouted "Number 40", then he said "NEW!!! From Celine Dion, Love Can Move Mountains". Then after the song, her voice would come on and said "Hi this is Celine Dion, Merry Christmas to all American Top 40 listeners all over the world".

 

There were many shows when Celine appeared and had short segments. I have some on cassette, and that's another thing I need to bring from Costa Rica and try to convert to mp3. :D

I thought I'd seen at least one of the new French shows in the Multimedia section.

 

Does anyone know why there aren't any of the new shows there? I would have been sure that someone had uploaded them there.

That's right - back then it was "celineonline.com" -- i guess someone must have already had the "celinedion.com" domain name - i wonder if it was a fan site, and how celine's team eventually got it.

I found an American Top 40 show where Celine's "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" was at its Hot 100 peak #4, so I cropped it with Shadoe Stevens' commentaries and uploaded it, if you wanna take a listen:

I loved these shows. As I didn't have access to Billboard Magazine back then, it was exciting to listen and see where she was on the countdown.

admittedly, I'm not a Brittany Spears fan. Never have been. What little I've heard leaves a lot to be desired. To me anyway. Is she talented enough to pull off a Vegas show?

It's interesting going through some of these back pages and back topics on the forum. They are a good read! Many of you are quite comical! It just goes to show you that we all want the best for Celine and care deeply for her! Just thought I'd share that. :)

I was watching some of English interviews lately and they are frustrating to me! This is how the English interview will go: Celine you are so "tiny, skinny", Yes, we know how tiny, skinny she is....she's been that way all her life! (I know that irritates her, you can see it) Get another question!!!!! Celine tell us about how many are in your family. Ugh, Get another question!!!! Then there will be a Rene question. We know already. Get another question!!!!

I just hope when she finally promotes WAAF someone will not ask her those old, worn out questions!

It's so fruatrating. No wonder she's more "relaxed" in French. I've always said that the French interviews are much more in depth, better.
